“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

Our goal was to make sure no one left the dance floor, and we had an extremely high bar and specific vision for a DJ for our wedding… Davey met and exceeded expectations, and I’d throw another party just to hire him again. He was extremely helpful, available, and consultative throughout the process, which was immensely valuable because we planned the wedding from out-of-state. We wanted a party that started with familiar songs remixes into house music so that the family members could dance to something familiar, and get progressively more dancey throughout the night- and that’s exactly what we got. He’s adaptable and ready to read the crowd to keep everyone involved, which we really appreciated, and was a big priority. He puts the couple first and is very intentional about making sure the night goes smoothly and as expected. It was a party with exactly the right music, and Davey kept everyone dancing- even my 82 year old grandma. We selected Davey because of his knowledge of our music taste (he’d even played some of our favorite NYC clubs), but in referencing him it was clear that his capabilities were not limited to this style- I talked to two other couples who were just as excited about Davey as I am, but with pretty different taste. As we worked with Davey and got to know him, it also became apparent that he’s just an excellent human being, and brought such good vibes and energy to our wedding just for being who he is. To anyone considering, I could not recommend Davey more. We were close on using another vendor whose package included lights, but I’m glad we did not. The lights we would have received were auto-sensing lights that “sync” to the music- but from what I’ve seen, those lights are frenetic and unreliable. We spent some extra money investing in proper lights (Davey helped with a few introductions), and the combination of Davey’s skills and professional lighting transformed a standard wedding to a disco nightclub.”

As a 28 year old bride and 33 year old groom we wanted a fun, high-energy reception to keep our diverse 100 person guestlist dancing all night. We had many guests/family from the, Rio Grande Valley and Venezuela, along with many friends from all over the US and from all cultures. He smoothly integrated must-play songs and requests in both English and Spanish to keep everyone happy and dancing, just as we'd hoped. Ivan was kind, approachable, and professional in all of our communications leading up to the big day. He provided a very detailed questionnaire to make sure he fully understood the vibe we were going for. Ivan's experience and knowledge of weddings really showed in his song choices and MC skills. “Wow! Wow! Wow! I am pretty much speechless because this band is THAT good. I first want to compliment, Greg Williams, the owner of Uptown Drive. From booking all the way through wedding day, he was nothing but responsive, respectful and a pleasure to work with. As for the reception, they made it what it was! I think what is incredible about them is they entertain everyone (not only those dancing on the dance floor) because every song is a TRUE performance. I am not lying when i say this, every time I have seen someone that attended my wedding, every one of them (young or old) comment on how great the band was. FYI I'm three months out from my wedding, so I've seen a lot of my guests since then. They played the right music while everyone was eating and visiting and knew exactly how to transition to dance floor time by doing a conga line. They let my husband and I get on stage and sing which we will remember and cherish forever. They came out into the crowd and let out our guest sing. They came out in the crown and danced with us! Me and some of my guests joke that we would like to have another wedding just so we can have them play again. I could absolutely not recommend this band anymore! Stop here and BOOK THEM!!! P.S.
