“I truly cannot imagine how this day would have gone without Maggie’s help. She and her assistant Claire made everything truly seamless. A few weeks before the wedding she told me she could start handling communication with my vendors and since I have a full time job, that was an extra helpful and I hadn’t thought that about when first hiring her. But aside from the work she did leading up to the day, she executed the event so well. The wedding party and my family even made comments to me about how lovely she was to work with. I had grand plans of organizing everything perfectly for her and even though I didn’t get quite as granular as I had hoped, she put it all together perfectly. So much happened behind the scenes that I didn’t even think about until weeks following because even though I initially planned it, she took the reigns and all I had to do was enjoy the night. Her calm and collected demeanor is exactly what every bride needs for their coordinator/planner. She didn’t even flinch when I decided the week before the wedding to add on a “grand exit” that wasn’t originally in the plan- haha. “Where do I even begin--how about with how hard it was to pick ONLY ten photos to include with this review?!? When we purchased Yellow Paddle's 1.5 photographer package, I was already over the moon. Having a second shooter, even for part of the day, was something I never dreamed I could afford, and it was so exciting to find a photography vendor where the pricing was so readily available. It's almost impossible to quantify the ways that Lan and Mike contributed to our day, and I am still in shock at how much I paid for how much we got. Yellow Paddle let us peruse all of their available photographers for our wedding date, and aside from how much we loved Lan's portfolio, there was also so much in his biography that resonated with us as a couple. From the moment we met Lan at our (incredibly well-priced) engagement session, we knew we had hit the nail on the head. Talking to him was easy, we shared tons of common interests, and despite both feeling very awkward in front of a camera, Lan captured our love and excitement with such intimacy and authenticity. Because of the connection we built at our engagement session, welcoming Lan into our getting-ready spaces was much more like greeting an old friend than meeting a wedding vendor. We didn't get to choose our second shooter with the 1.5 photographer package, but Mike was also an invaluable part of our day. My husband mentions frequently that Mike helped put him at ease just before our first look photos when he was feeling his most nervous. Lan and Mike worked well with each other, too; there wasn't any tension or stepping on each other's toes. When we got our gallery back (far sooner than the expected delivery date), we were in absolute awe. Lan and Mike delivered far above and beyond what we had ever dreamed of receiving when we started planning our wedding, and frankly above and beyond what we even expected based on Yellow Paddle's pricing/package details. From the staged family photos and accessory shots to the candids of guests and private moments between my husband and me, Lan and Mike truly captured the warmth, intimacy, love, and connection we felt throughout our special day. My favorite part of her work was the ceremony, my jaw dropped when I walked around the corner to see our chuppah. Keri arrived at the venue rehearsal with samples in hand and two vases I was originally deciding between, so I could see the flowers in the event space and make any changes if I wanted. Keri was such a pleasure to work with and was always quick to answer questions and consistently checked in leading up to our wedding day!”

When rain rolled through right at the start of our reception, the entire crew was all hands on deck with backup plans ready to go. They handled everything so smoothly and kept the party moving, we practically forgot it even rained! Throughout the night they were energetic, attentive, and so much fun to be around. Our guests are still raving about them and, of course, the amazing pizza! The team brought so much life to the celebration and made the entire day unforgettable. “Dancing was the most important part of our wedding and Justin delivered! Prior to the event he was incredibly communicative and responsive, listening to our requests and reminding us of important deadlines. He thoroughly reviewed our timeline and kept the night on track. When it came to the dance party, it was packed the entire night playing songs that appealed to all types of music lovers and especially to us, the bride and groom. Additionally, Leslie was running the photo booth and it was an absolute blast. We received a printed photo book at the end with all photos downloadable. “The Oaks was one of the two venues we toured, but from pictures alone, I knew I wanted this one!! The absolute cherry on top was that the staff is incredible and attentive. Our Coordinator, Alex, was thorough and detail-oriented, ensuring everything about our day went smoothly! The venue itself is stunning, and in-house meals drinks made the coordination aspect so simple! Every room at the Oaks is beautiful! We used the ballroom for our ceremony and dinner! The Oaks staff flipped the room for us and assembled all the table decor. A couple of perks of the ballroom are that the giant windows made the space so bright for our ceremony, and we were able to fit a king's table for our bridal party and their plus ones in the lower area (a whopping 39 people)!! I had 12 bridesmaids, and the getting ready suite had PLENTY of room for everyone and lots of mirrors! The boys had a great time using the golf simulator and watching football in the speakeasy!! Also, a special shoutout to Xander for fixing up my hair and helping with all the tiny touch-ups right before I walked down the aisle!! Thank you for being so detail-oriented and peaceful!! We had an amazing experience using The Oaks and would recommend it to anyone!!”
