He did such a great job playing the song requests we had on the guitar, and he even learned a few that was very important for us to be played! We got SO many compliments from the guests of the wedding on how well he preformed- including family members that are singers and performers themselves! Then for the reception, he brought the PARTY as the DJ. He was able to really capture the vibe of what we were looking for as well as what the guests wanted to hear. Prior to the wedding, he was very attentive to what we were looking for in terms of song request and do not play lists. He also provided a very large song library of suggestions, as well as songs he knows how to play via Spotify- this made our lives SO much easier and was such a great resource! We also rented uplighting and cold fireworks for our wedding though Philip, which really elevated the party atmosphere. I highly recommend to hire Philip/good musicians for your wedding, he was such a pleasure to have! I can only imagine how talented his band is as well!!”

My calves were more sore the day after the wedding than when I ran the Chicago Marathon a few weeks prior. That's how hard I was dancing all night. We had a bilingual wedding (Spanish/English) and the MC, Hector, was able to speak and instruct guests in both languages. SO AWESOME! They also played the perfect blend of songs in both languages. Many of our Spanish speaking guests had not seen a live band like this before and they loved it. Amy, the owner, was amazing with planning and giving suggestions for the setlist. “We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”
