“From our first conversation with the team at Willowdale Estate, we knew we had made the right choice. After we booked, the planning team was so responsive and were always available when we needed them, which made the entire planning process feel stress-free. Not once did I worry about something not going smoothly. Our wedding day coordinator, Julia, was exceptional as well as the Coach House attendants. I had a very large wedding party and there were 15 of us getting ready in the couch house suite, along with 6 HMU artists. There was so much space and the attendants made sure everything was stress free and our stuff was all organized. Throughout the whole day the staff made sure everything ran like clockwork—they placed all our decor exactly where we envisioned it and kept the timeline on track without us having to worry about a thing. Julia was so attentive and helped to keep everyone calm and I truly was able to relax knowing that I could trust her and everything was in such good hands. The venue itself is stunning with its naturally beautiful grounds, so we didn't need to do much to make it feel special. The team's attention to detail and genuine care for making our day perfect really set them apart. So many guests told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to and how delicious the food was. We had 175 guests and did not feel as though it was too crowded at all. My husband and I truly had the best day ever and could not have dreamed of getting married anywhere else. We can't recommend Willowdale Estate enough.”

“We truly cannot say enough amazing things about our experience with The Villa and their incredible team! After making the decision to switch our wedding venue less than 8 months before our wedding, we knew we had a lot to navigate, and honestly, we could not have asked for a better team to walk through the process with us. From the very beginning, the communication was exceptional. We always felt heard, supported, and cared for throughout the entire planning process. Our wedding coordinator, Jocelyn, was truly an amazing soul! She walked with us through the entire process and made what could have been an incredibly stressful transition feel seamless. She was patient, attentive, supportive, and genuinely invested in making sure our wedding day was everything we dreamed it would be. We truly could not imagine having anyone else helping us through such an important time. On the wedding day, the team continued to exceed our expectations. They handled communication and coordination with our other vendors and took care of any conflicts or issues that arose behind the scenes so that we could simply enjoy our day. Knowing that everything was being handled allowed us to be fully present and soak in every moment. And we absolutely have to mention Lola, our bridal attendant! She was AMAZING! She was attentive, thoughtful, and always one step ahead of us. She made sure we were comfortable, taken care of, and able to enjoy every moment of our wedding day without having to worry about the little things. Honestly, every single person who played a part in our special day deserves the biggest thank you. From the moment we chose to make this venue our new home for our wedding to the moment we left at the end of the night, we felt supported and cared for. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for helping turn what started as a major last-minute change into one of the most beautiful decisions we could have made. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and MORE, and we are so grateful to the entire team for making it so incredibly special.”

“We got married here & LOVED our experience. We chose to go the DIY route and bring in our own catering & vendors (which were no extra fee to do so!) and were so happy to find a venue that allowed us to do that! Adding up all the expenses afterwards though I would highly recommend considering the packages with vendors/catering included as A Simple Affair pricing actually would have saved me a little in the long run and been much easier to do everything in one place. We really enjoyed our experience in booking, planning and day-of with all the A Simple Affair staff! Take advantage of their planning appointments as they are so helpful in nailing down your details and timeline! Also make sure to check out their decor as they have so much you can add on and not have to bring in your own PLUS there is a perfect spot for outdoor photos on the other side of the parking lot!”

“Thank you so much to Mountain Crust and their crew for being so amazing. We hosted a Saturday wedding here in late June and it was absolutely stunning. There is enough shade in the lawn to make a big difference in the temp, and when it started to rain during dinner the staff moved our whole party (around 80 people) inside in just a few minutes. Everything turned out really well, and the venue is just gorgeous. Nico, the venue manager, was our day-of coordinator, and while there were a couple of snags (no PA announcements being made throughout the event, and our wedding cake was cut and served before we got to see it) most everything went really smoothly and felt organized. Communication was good and the staff were incredible day-of. We had so much fun and are so grateful to have found this venue!”

“We had our New Year’s Eve wedding in the Liberty House ballroom, and it was truly everything we dreamed of and more. From start to finish, the experience was great. Our event stylist, Sarah, was amazing and played such a huge role in bringing our vision to life. I had a lot of ideas (some a bit outside the box!), and Liberty House worked with us to thoughtfully incorporate them into our wedding and our budget, including espresso martini shots on the dance floor, which was such a fun and memorable moment for our guests. The food was outstanding, especially cocktail hour. Guests are still talking about it. The pasta station was a crowd favorite, and we added the sushi station, which was an absolute hit as well. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The views alone are unbeatable. We had the most stunning Manhattan skyline backdrop at a much better price than venues actually in Manhattan or nearby. Another huge plus was being able to decorate the ceiling of the ballroom, which completely elevated the space. We used Liberty House’s preferred florist, JR Floral Designs, and absolutely loved working with them. Communication throughout the planning process was great. One thing to note is that Liberty House is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so depending on when you email, there may be a short wait for a response but once they’re back, they are responsive and helpful. The week of the wedding, we were able to drop off all of our décor and personal details, which made the wedding day itself so smooth and stress-free. While there isn’t a traditional getting-ready suite, there is a small room to store belongings, enjoy a private cocktail hour, and a private restroom. I personally got ready at a suite at the Hyatt House and took an Uber over, which worked out perfectly. Overall, Liberty House exceeded our expectations in every way. Between the views, the food, the flexibility, and the incredible team, we couldn’t imagine a better place to have celebrated our wedding — especially on NYE. Highly recommend!”

“If you’re looking for a scenic wedding venue on the water with amazing food, easy communication, and seamless coordination, The Lakehouse is it! Almost a month later and we have not stopped receiving compliments about our wedding day. We got married in early November, so there wasn’t much foliage on the trees, but that did not take away any of the beauty of this venue! We lucked out with weather and had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in front of the lake. The transition from our ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception was flawless and incredibly well-organized. The venue itself is breathtaking with its large windows, offering stunning views and a layout that allowed for an easy and natural flow throughout the day. There are also SO MANY photo ops, so even if weather didn’t cooperate, we would have had gorgeous photos no matter what! The food was nothing short of amazing! All of our guests, even our most high-maintenance ones, were highly impressed from our passed hors d’oeuvres, to our piping hot dinner. They LOVED the cookies & milk station, as well as our late-night french fry bar! I had been dreaming about this day for as long as I can remember, and I am super type-a, so I have been planning every detail for awhile! It was important to me that certain details were executed the way I had envisioned them. We were assigned Victoria as our Event Producer about 8 months prior to our wedding. She gave us the best advice and suggestions throughout the planning process, which is appreciated when you have so many decisions to make! We had a large wedding of 180 guests, as well as an 8-piece band, so it was important to us to have a large dance floor. Victoria put together the perfect floor plan that allowed us to dance the night away! On the day of our wedding, she setup all of our décor the exact way we envisioned it, and then some! We were so happy to have her there, and she was equally excited to be there for us. We truly did not have to lift a finger once we got to the venue! Our Event Manager, Aubre, kept everything running smoothly behind-the-scenes on our wedding day to the point where we did not have to worry about a thing. Our Wedding Attendant, Emma, was always right there when we needed her! She carried my bouquet or drink, bustled my dress, and even made sure we had and ate our appetizers, dinner, and dessert! These 3 women were lifesavers, and we could not have gotten through the day without them! They were so kind, thoughtful, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure us and our guests were happy and taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, stress-free experience, and we are so grateful to The Lakehouse and Saphire Event Group team for making our wedding day so perfect and unforgettable!”

“Let me start by saying it’s been almost 2 weeks since our wedding at Stonebridge and Matt and I are still on a high! What made us love Stonebridge was the openness of the ballroom with all the beautiful windows. It didn’t feel like your typical ballroom, it felt open and airy. We started the planning process with the lovely Diana who made us feel so comfortable. Whether it was planning details or asking questions, we always left conversations with Diana feeling so excited! She really brings the energy and makes you feel so special. She has an eye for what works, what doesn’t and gives you the best tips and tricks. We are so grateful we had Diana throughout this process!! I HIGHLY recommend getting ready at Stonebridge’s beautiful, gigantic bridal suite the morning of the wedding. My mom, bridesmaids, flower girls and I were so obsessed with all the space to get ready, multiple bathrooms, bedrooms and the windows (they brought in so much light the pictures are amaaaaazing!) I had 3 girls doing our hair and 4 girls doing makeup, my mom and I, 14 bridesmaids, 1 MOH, and 2 flowers girls and we had more than enough room to get ready. Since we had an army of girls I loved that we were able to get there early. We were greeted by Dee the bridal attendant who made sure we had a smooth, fun morning. She was very attentive to us girls and ready with champagne whenever! Terrence is the MAN! Best maitre d hands down. He made sure everything ran smoothly with timing and always kept us hydrated with drinks and water on the dance floor. He truly brings the energy and makes sure you have the best day! We had so much fun with him! Diana, Terrence, Dee and the wait staff truly made our day feel like a dream! They went above and beyond and made sure every detail no matter how big or small was cared for. We are forever grateful for the most perfect day. Our family and friends raveddddd about the delicious food, cocktail room, ballroom and just overall how warm and beautiful Stonebridge was. THANK YOU STONEBRIDGE!”

Generously proportioned getting ready suites mean the morning-of unfolds without anyone feeling rushed or cramped. “Look no further than Paradigm Gardens for the unforgettable, joyful, vibrant, delicious and thoughtful wedding or celebration that you've always imagined! We had always admired the space for its lush, colorful, genuine energy, but we had no idea how special and personal the experience would be when we reached out to inquire about having our wedding in the garden. Starting at the beginning, Karen was so available and personable which made it possible for us to talk through our needs and hopes and find a solution that would work for our budget and vison. From that point, we felt extremely supported throughout the year leading up to our wedding with prompt answers whenever we had questions, phone calls to discuss any idea we had to see how we could make it work in the garden, and a menu tasting that was so much fun and SO delicious! One major point to any prospective couple, the food is SPECTACULAR! Made on the outdoor grill and brick oven, the culinary experience is a feast for every sense and seriously something our guests (and we) are still talking about! With rain in the forecast as our wedding approached, Karen and Sarah made sure every detail was thought of to ease our nerves, and we had a perfect rain plan that was stunning and perfect! The Paradigm team thinks of every detail so that you can create the day of your dreams. The garden flowers and foliage w ere just divine, the layout was thought out perfectly for our group size, the food was prepared and served without us having to think about a thing and we could just soak in our amazing family and friends, and the love and joy around us! The staff were such a delight and so kind and helpful throughout the evening! We had an absolute BLAST and will remember every second of the perfect day to start our next chapter together. “Helen at Brookledge was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding!! From our very first interaction, the whole team was communicative, helpful, and really kind. The venue itself has a completely magical vibe, and was the perfect space for our forest wedding in the trees. I had originally hoped to get married in the redwoods in CA, but the The Camp Chapel (one option for a ceremony space) was the absolute next best thing. Helen went above and beyond throughout the weekend (even printed my updated vows last minute!!) to ensure everything ran smoothly, and everyone's attention to detail made our wedding day feel more magical than we could have ever dreamed of!! We are so grateful to Helen and the whole Brookledge team -- if you love glamping and want to get married in the trees -- THIS IS THE VENUE FOR YOU!! 1000/10 recommend! (Just because there isn't another public place to leave this, if you go with Brookledge, as you 10000% should!! don't choose Jake Allen as your DJ - just use another recommended vendor for music! )”

“Dorcas was great from the very beginning. She made everything so easy and helped put the whole package together with the catering, bartender, photographer, DJ, and décor. Everyone did an amazing job. The food was delicious, the bartender was fun, the DJ played exactly what we wanted, and Susan made everything look beautiful. It was all set up just the way I pictured it. I felt like I was probably a little difficult because I knew exactly what I wanted and was very straightforward, but Dorcas never made me feel that way. She was always kind and reassuring. The pricing was very reasonable for everything that was included, and I honestly didn't have to lift a finger on our wedding day. Everything went smoothly, and we had such a great time. I would definitely recommend them!”

“We highly recommend The Seville Chicagoland as a wedding venue. Desire was amazing to work with - she communicated promptly and professionally every step of the way. The space itself is elegant without the high price tag, giving great value. On our big day, The Seville really came through for us. When some out-of-town guests couldn't make the rehearsal, Desire allowed us to cancel without penalty. She also helped with DJ equipment rental when our original rental fell through. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or coordinator for our special day. The Seville handled all the little details and last minute changes beautifully. We're so grateful for the role they played in making our wedding day stress-free and magical.”

“Our wedding on May 1, 2026 was truly the best day of our lives, and the entire Hudson House team exceeded every expectation we had. We had a bit of a rocky start during the initial booking process, but once Elena, the General Manager, stepped in and connected us with Gabriel, the Director, everything became seamless. From that point forward, we felt completely taken care of. The food tasting alone was an experience unlike anything we've ever seen. It was an incredible feast and gave us a firsthand look at how Hudson House executes events and the level of service they provide. The food was absolutely outstanding, and our guests are still talking about it weeks later. One of the things that made our wedding feel extra special was having the second-floor room available for cocktail hour instead of the overlook above the reception space. While both spaces are beautiful, having a completely separate floor created such an incredible guest experience. Many guests thought the cocktail hour space was the reception itself, only to be amazed when they discovered there was another floor for dinner and dancing, followed by the Stork Club for the after-party. Everyone loved the progression of the evening and how each part of the celebration had its own unique space. The cocktail hour was truly next level. We received countless compliments about the amount of food and the variety of stations. Guests repeatedly told us they had never seen so many options at a wedding. One detail that made a huge impact was having our signature his-and-hers drinks already waiting for guests as they entered cocktail hour. People loved being able to grab a drink immediately instead of standing in line at the bar, and it was one of the most complimented touches of the night. What impressed us most, though, was the service. Every single staff member was warm, friendly, attentive, and accommodating. If a guest needed something, it was handled immediately. The professionalism and hospitality were truly exceptional. A special thank you goes to Maya, my bridal attendant, who was absolutely incredible from start to finish. She was by my side all day, constantly making sure I had water, checking on me, helping me stay hydrated, and ensuring I had everything I needed. She even helped clean the dirt off the train of my dress after photos. Maya was calm, thoughtful, diligent, and genuinely cared about making my day perfect. Before we left, she made sure all of our belongings were packed and organized, and she carefully packed up the food and cake I requested to take home since I knew I probably wouldn't get a chance to eat much during the wedding. Thanks to her, we were able to enjoy so many of the amazing dishes once we got back to our hotel. Gabriel was equally incredible throughout the night. Anytime I noticed something that needed attention, no matter how small, he addressed it immediately. Knowing he was there overseeing everything allowed us to relax and fully enjoy our wedding day. Hudson House delivered beyond our wildest dreams. The venue is stunning, the food is phenomenal, the service is unmatched, and the entire team genuinely cares about creating an unforgettable experience. Everything ran so smoothly that we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment. The only downside is that the day goes by way too fast. We honestly wish we could do it all over again. We cannot recommend Hudson House enough.”

About wedding venues

How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors
