Donna was such a pleasure to work with for our wedding in September 2024 in the Charlottesville area. She worked with my mother and I during our planning meeting to create my husband and I's vision of our wedding florals! She was always very responsive when I had questions or needed to alter things. We had so many complements on how beautiful our flowers were. Also, you can't beat the price! I would highly recommend colonial florist to anyone.

Barnswallow Blooms
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Serves Free Union, VA

I have a love for all things wild and natural, scented blossoms, mossy twigs, and starry nights. Flowers simply make my heart sing. I believe the magic of growing and gathering was planted in me years ago as a young girl, working alongside my mother picking wildflowers and lily of the valley. How I create is deeply rooted in who I am; a floral designer, grower, and potter. I feel my art background has been a really strong foundation for floral design as textures, color, and design are all intertwined with both arts.

Flowergirl Cville
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Free Union, VA

I believe flowers have a special mission in our lives. People change when they see flowers. Studies have shown flowers have an immediate impact on happiness and their presence leads to increased contact with family and friends. As a freelance floral designer, I loved the way faces lit up when I walked into the venue with arrangements and buckets of flowers. I decided to take the leap and pursue a career that would enable me to create something meaningful and beautiful and combine my passion with designing a purpose-driven life centered on creating stronger connections amongst people through the beauty and language of flowers.

Jennifer and her team are truly INCREDIBLE. We could not have asked for a more seamless experience or more gorgeous floral designs for our special day. She was the sweetest, most supportive florist — endlessly patient with us through every change we made along the way. Jennifer began by creating a beautifully detailed mockup with ideas and pricing based on our original vision of light pastels. When I later shifted our palette to more vibrant pastels, she never missed a beat. She communicated with us openly, guided us through what flowers would be in season, and answered every question with so much kindness and clarity. We had two virtual meetings so she could fully understand our vision, and she even attended our venue walk‑through — which ended up being one of the most helpful parts of the entire planning process. During the walkthrough, we ran into a few communication hiccups with the venue, and Jennifer immediately stepped in with such grace. She helped bridge the confusion, advocated for what we were envisioning, and made sure everyone was on the same page. She also helped us work within our budget without ever making us feel like we were compromising on beauty. When the venue surprised us with a brand‑new metal arch, she instantly reimagined our ceremony setup on the spot. What she created with that arch ended up being more magical than anything I could have dreamed of. One of my favorite memories from the entire day was watching Jennifer and her team quietly transform our ceremony space while I was getting ready. Seeing them work with such care, intention, and artistry felt like watching a dream come to life right in front of me. Every detail was thoughtful, every bloom placed with purpose, and the final result was breathtaking. Jennifer is not just a florist — she is a calming presence, a creative partner, and someone who genuinely cares about making your day feel special. We are forever grateful for her talent, her heart, and the beauty she brought into our wedding.

Willow Branch Flowers
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Free Union, VA

Willow Branch is Step mother/daughter team, Cathy Coyle and Mary Pearl Monnes. Willow Branch has grown from a life long love of flowers, gardening, art, nature and all things beautiful. Backgrounds in fine art and horticulture enable us to visualize unique combinations of color, form and texture with consideration for each individual couple and season. We work closely with dedicated local growers to select the best material for our designs. Embracing seasonal selections allow the beholder to take forward a memento of their experience, reliving the beauty of a day again and again in the passing of seasons.

As with many women, I have been dreaming about my wedding since I was a little girl playing pretend. My husband and I also had a two-year long engagement, so I dreamed even more intensely about what everything would look like. What we couldn't have predicted was how unbelievably gorgeous everything would look, because our florals were so vibrant and fresh and beautiful. I have never seen flowers so bright and healthy as Willow Branch Flowers'. They really made everything else in our wedding pop, and I'm so happy I got my bouquet preserved so I can always have a piece of these gorgeous florals. They were so easy to work with, very responsive, and even stayed after the ceremony to help set up the reception. The arch was easily my favorite part, but every table and votive and even the flower girls' petals were absolute perfection. They are completely worth it and more. I HIGHLY recommend booking with them!

Absolutely fabulous. The rental flowers came in on time and looked so real they genuinely fooled our photographer and our guests -- we had real flowers in our bud vases to match the SBB rentals and guests were literally touching the petals to tell which was which. We greatly appreciated SBB and their services.

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.8 (100 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Free Union, VA

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had a tropical themed wedding and used Flower Moxie for tropical flowers and greenery: bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, ceremony arch flowers. I wish there were more tropical related videos on their DIY Academy, but I did love working with my assigned florist and the help desk was quick in their response. For those who are getting married at the same location that the flowers are being delivered (my parents' home), I wish we would have done all of the floral arrangements the day before instead of 2 days before. And our spray roses came a day later and were a little sad looking. But overall, we were very happy with the service and highly recommend to others!

Poppy Flowers
Rating: 4.4 (86 reviews)
  • Starts at $1,750
  • Serves Free Union, VA

Poppy is a full-service wedding florist with one mission: give every couple stunning floral design without the luxury-tier price tag. We design, source, and deliver your flowers from first consultation to final installation. As featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, The Today Show, Fortune, and Goop. Planning your wedding flowers should feel exciting, not overwhelming. If you've been gathering inspiration and wondering whether your budget can actually bring that vision to life — it can. That's exactly what we do.

Awarded Best of Zola
I wasn't fully sure what to expect working with Poppy, but I was truly so happy with how everything came together! It's definitely a more hands-off experience, which was great for me, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend to brides that are super particular about their flowers. I had a great experience with my floral consultant Adrienne. She really took my wants and budget into consideration and was extremely helpful in picking out the designs that best matched my vision. On the day-of, I didn't have to worry at all about the floral delivery or setup - they handled it completely with my wedding venue coordinator. This was great and took a lot of stress off my plate. The flowers themselves were STUNNING and so far beyond my expectations. Fantastic price too, especially as our wedding was on an island and involved more logistical challenges than some venues might. :)

Woodland Floral Design Co.
Rating: 5.0 (78 reviews)
  • Serves Free Union, VA

Proud Cat & Dog Mom // Your New Wedding Vendor BFF It’s never been just about pretty flowers to me. I started out in social work because I wanted to serve and connect with others. I first entered the floral design world as an intern in 2016 and noticed a lack of originality in designs and a need for more connection between the florist and the couple. When I started WFD in 2019, I decided to prioritize both artistic designs and building long-term relationships with each couple. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

Awarded Best of Zola
We can’t say enough wonderful things about Misha & Woodland Floral Design Co! From our very first meeting, she immediately formed a genuine connection with us and truly cared about bringing our story to life through flowers. She went above and beyond — even doing research to find and match the exact same blooms that were featured in our favorite reality TV show, which we happened to be watching when we got engaged. That thoughtful detail made our wedding feel so personal and meaningful. Every arrangement was stunning — from the bouquets & the fountain in our cocktail hour space, to the seating chart installation & the reception centerpieces. The flowers were fresh, vibrant, and beautifully arranged, and they completely transformed & complimented the natural beauty of our venue. Weeks later, our guests are still complimenting us on how gorgeous our florals were! Misha was professional, creative, and an absolute joy to work with. We would recommend her to anyone looking for a florist who not only delivers breathtaking designs but also puts her heart into every detail. She truly made our wedding unforgettable.

The Faux Bouquets
Rating: 5.0 (43 reviews)
  • Starts at $175
  • Serves Free Union, VA

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
I was so impressed with The Faux Bouquets for our wedding! Brittany, the owner, was incredibly quick to respond, thorough in her communication, and had such a friendly and fun personality. She really went above and beyond to make sure we got the perfect faux floral arrangements for our big day. The quality of their work is truly unique and you can tell they are so passionate about what they do. We were able to take advantage of a special deal on the flowers I wanted, and they even upgraded some of the pieces for free! Compared to other faux floral companies in the area, we were able to get much more for our money. I'm so glad I took the time for the 15 minute consultation with Brittany - it was so helpful to see the items at scale and she customized our order perfectly. Our wedding is not until 2027 but we got them early and I LOVE them. I also like that the suites aren’t cookie cutter so each of my bridesmaids have their own style.

Welcome! So glad you found me. I’m Stacy, owner and design lead of Ethos Floral Events. I truly love flowers and the implementaion that comes from designing with florals and fauna. Helping clients choose florals, curating thoughtful elements for their wedding day while maintaining sustainable practices is at the soul center of my business. We serve the central Virginia area, NC and beyond. Richmond, Charlottesville & the Shenandoah Valley.

Our wedding was a few weeks ago, and we still have guests raving to us about how beautiful our florals were (and we agree wholeheartedly). Stacy has such a special eye for color and design. We went into the planning experience with only vague ideas of what we wanted. After our consult call, we felt confident she was the one for us and would help guide us through the process. Her kindness, expertise, and excitement were what drew us in. We cannot wait to get our professional photos back so we can admire them again, and I even decided to have my bouquet pressed afterwards so we could preserve the day further. Our florals were easily one of our favorite parts of the day. We could not recommend her enough!

  • Starts at $5,000

Poppin’ Peonies Collective creates design-forward wedding florals for couples who want the planning process to feel clear, supported, and thoughtfully guided. We work with couples who value artistry but don’t want to manage every detail — couples who want to feel confident in their decisions without second-guessing how everything will come together. Many of our clients come to us feeling overwhelmed by inspiration overload, unsure how to translate ideas into something cohesive, or worried that what they see in planning won’t match what they experience on the wedding day. Our role is to remove that uncertainty.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where to even begin when it comes to my absolute love and adoration for all things Poppin’ Peonies, but most of all my complete love for BRE!!! From the beginning my 3 non negotiables for our wedding were FOOD,FLOWERS, & PHOTOS. And when I tell you Bre delivered and exceeded my expectations I am not lying. I booked with Bre after having a weird gut feeling with a previous wedding floral designer. The energy was off and I didn’t feel heard with the other designer but after my initial consultation call with Bre, I not only felt heard I felt as if I was talking to a friend. Our first call was one hour and it felt like 10 minutes. She understood the sentimental importance of florals for me personally and gave honest insight on design and cohesion. She didn’t dismiss what I thought I wanted. Instead she gave BETTER and more realistic options of availability during the time of year we were getting married (JULY in VA in no joke… LOL) I not only felt heard but increasingly validated by Bre and all nerves about the design of the day melted away. Seeing my vision come to life with her collaboration & expertise was truly breathtaking and a part of our wedding that people but mostly myself will never forget. Breanne’s organization, diligence, and most of all communication was monumental during this process but I completely trusted her. Looking at our florals and design for our wedding it is something truly timeless but also unique and wild at the time. It is EXACTLY what I wanted and turned out better than imagined. All the florals I had saved and envisioned over the years from bridal magazines, Pinterest, and even mine and my late mother’s favorite florals were incorporated into our special day. On a personal note, Bre was so diligent and intentional when it came to my late Mothers “ In Loving Memory of” chair during our ceremony ,that is easily one of the most sentimental moments of our wedding. For that alone, I am eternally grateful. Bottom line, you absolutely cannot go wrong with booking with Poppin Peonies and Bre. In any way shape or form it will be the best decision and most seamless decision of your wedding journey. I am so fortunate to not only have photos and memories to look back on with these florals but most of all a true friendship with Bre.

As someone in the wedding industry, I knew that I wanted to hire someone completely capable of carrying out my vision and all of the intricate details on my wedding day. Having worked with Ket before as a freelancer, I knew immediately that I wanted Ket and her team to create the florals for my fall wedding. Ket was patient and attentive to detail with all of my requests, checking in throughout the planning process to ensure that all of the things she had in mind for the wedding matched what I was dreaming of. On the wedding day, when I saw the flowers at our ceremony, I was floored and immediately in tears. Working with Jessica was a treat. She was an incredible listener and translated our inspiration into reality spectacularly. Her arrangements were dynamic, structural, cohesive and so intentionally crafted. We shared some specific elements/colors we wanted and she was able to run with our ideas and turn them into a full floral design vision board. Jessica had candles and votives, and sourced these gorgeous ribbons for the bouquets. She thoughtfully incorporated all our requests and was happy to adjust throughout the planning process. I can’t recommend her more highly!

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!
