The Design Barn is a one of a kind venue, we looked at so many places and as soon as we saw it we knew we wanted to get married there. From planning, to the food, our event coordinator Alex, Decor it was all superb and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Alex our event coordinator, made our day move SO swiftly. She bent over backwards a million times to give us our dream wedding and we will always remember her being such an important part of our wedding day. My husband and I had the most perfect wedding at The Barn and Vineyard in June 2023! I cannot say enough about how helpful the staff was, especially Amy, Joe, and Kyle, leading up to our wedding day. Amy was available to answer all of our questions and had prompt, detailed replies each time. Joe served as our DJ and he made sure our ceremony ran smoothy and he kept our guests having fun on the dance floor all night! Kyle served as our caterer and we are still receiving compliments on our food. He also created delicious food for our rehearsal dinner, pre-wedding snacks, cocktail hour, and late night pizza. The outdoor space in the vineyard was breathtaking and served as the most beautiful backdrop for our ceremony as well as pictures! The indoor space was perfect for our reception. Our guests truly enjoyed the space and complimented how unique it was having indoor space, outdoor space, and an upstairs area for the younger guests to have fun! We also rented the cigar bar as a unique feature, which was a huge hit! The rental of the photo booth was also a hit with our guests all night long. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, and most of that is thanks to the venue and their staff! Also, it was wonderful that The Barn and Vineyard is a family owned and run business who takes pride in providing extraordinary care for their clients, plus the option to hire family members as the DJ and chef was so convenient and both are beyond talented at what they do! I would recommend The Barn and Vineyard to any couples looking for a perfect combination of outdoor and indoor space for their wedding! County line was amazing with helping me on the big day. Despite the rain I had my wedding turned out amazing. They responded in a timely manner and the food was amazing . I wish I could go back and eat more of the pot roast ! I did the bridal solo and I have to say it is a must for all future brides. This venue is reasonably priced and Colleen was amazing !

Fair Oaks Farms was a nice venue for our wedding, though their communication style was a bit minimal on the actual wedding day. The quality of their work and value was very nice - the servers were attentive and helpful throughout the evening. However, when our official reception time was up at 11pm, the staff turned on all the lights and rushed us to gather our belongings and vacate the reception hall immediately. This made the end of our special night feel a bit abrupt and hurried. Overall, Fair Oaks Farms provided a pleasant setting for our wedding, but could improve the communication and transition at the end of the night.

Most banquet halls force your hand when it comes to catering or using their partners, but the Olympia Fields Park District let's you host your event how you would like to. This place is so relaxing and chic. I came here for one of their open house events. I love how it can be rented out to stay in, have a micro-wedding or small event in or do both. It’s also in a great location near small boutiques, artisan shops and cool restaurants that you can walk around and check out. Beautiful venue and stunning for the price compared to a lot of locations. Really easy to work with but we found ourselves repeating details A LOT and yet some of them got lost anyways - for example, I had made a full allergy list for the reception organized by table, and yet staff brought me (the bride) food I am dangerously allergic to. It was fixed quickly but annoying because I’d spent so much time preparing this and details got lost anyways. This happened in multiple ways. Several things—ceremony set up, rehearsal timeline, etc—were easily fixed, but shouldn’t have needed to be fixed in the first place, given the amount of prep we did.

My wedding planning experience with Uptown was phenomenal. If you have the pleasure of working alongside Jeremy and Judy, they are there to support and manage decisions with you every step of the way, helping you feel like you are in control of your vision while they help guide what all they can do for you to make it happen. Both professional and empathetic to your needs and vision, we felt like a dreamy team to put the day together from the start. (We had our reception here only, so it was great to not have the stress of a room flip.) Would recommend you ask them for local recommendations, as we used just about every recommendation they had; florist, cake, driving service, and local accommodations for our bridal party and our guests. Every single recommendation was amazing to work with, with professionalism and the touch of warmth from a small town that we personally loved, all thanks to Uptown. Michigan City is the cutest Lake town with surprisingly a lot of food, drinks, and nature to explore. This was a semi-destination wedding for us and our guests as we are from Chicago and most other family from Ohio or farther. So a lot of guests took advantage of having an extended weekend to explore the National Park, Lake, and Winery in the area. So if that is something you think your guests would like to take advantage of, it was definitely a winning aspect leading up to the day. We got to mingle with guests prior to the wedding so it didn't feel like a complete rush of saying hello to all of our guests on Saturday. The venue is spectacular, perfect for a modern church vibe turned into a booming party space; we ended up clearing our head table from the stage to have more room for fun and dancing! The sound system is awesome, so one less thing for a DJ to have to bring. Lighting in the ball room is customisable which we had a lot of fun working with Jeremy on to change the mood for each part of the night. All other areas of the venue are simple, elegant, and give the space for guests to mix and mingle without being stuck in one area of your wedding (bar lounge, courtyard, front patio, and balcony areas). The venue is truly amazing. The terrance for our ceremony looked over the Michigan Lake and the City of Chicago Skyline. The indoor area to eat and dance shows a great classy and modern decor. The venue definitely speaks for itself, and does not require much decorations to reflect a beautiful wedding. One downside we experienced was communication. My wife and I were shocked on some of the responses. This was our first time getting married, and some of the communications back to us made it seem like we should know everything about the wedding industry. We also had to repeat multiple emails and communications even though this information was given to another college at the venue.

We had an amazing experience with the Sculpture Garden at Bridgeport Art Center. We started our process with Claire who was super accommodating with a last minute Friday evening tour to accommodate my work schedule, once we booked we worked with Eleanor who was also wonderful. Communication with both was timely and efficient and they were super patient with all my questions! The space itself was stunning, guests are still commenting on it a month later! For us it was awesome to have an “outdoor wedding” that didn’t need a rain plan due to the cover on the ceremony space. You felt like you were outside with more of the comforts of an inside space, and the pictures turned out amazing with the natural light, tall ceilings and chandeliers! The indoor space is just as lovely and the night flowed beautifully thanks to the venue team!

I loved having my wedding at Ruffled Feathers. It is a beautiful venue to begin with, so there was very little that we had to to feel wedding ready. Everything went seamlessly and Kiley was a great day of coordinator, making sure that we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding and everyone raved about our cake which is provided from Orland Bakery. Everything felt so easy in those final days leading up to the wedding and it was so much to do with having everything at Ruffled Feathers and the amazing work they do.

Lacuna Lofts saved the day after our first venue closed. We loved the unique space. The food was amazing—some of our guests said it was the best wedding dinner they've ever had! (The mashed potatoes were a real crowd pleaser.) It ended up raining on our wedding day, so we had to pivot and have our ceremony in Magik Street rather than the skydeck. The space worked perfectly with our flowers, and our guests still got to grab photos on the roof during cocktail hour.

Cog hill made our wedding an absolute dream. From the food, to the service to the behind the scenes they were 10/10. John Kapusciarz, the owner, and the WHOLE staff were marvelous. To my knowledge, nothing went wrong! We had some delays in the ceremony at our other venue that set us back a little bit, but the whole staff rallied and were flexible and helped adjust the flow of the evening. It was so beautiful, and getting married in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows with that view was absolutely magical. We're big Chicago people, so being so close to the park and just a quick ride to the river was amazing for photos. We were a little worried that it would be a bit tight, but honestly it was a great size for our guest count of 150 people. Our guests kept raving about the space and the food! I cannot have asked for a more perfect day and I would 1000000/10 recommend LM Studio for your wedding day!!!
