“Weeks later, we're still absolutely gushing over the Mansion! It was the perfect venue for our wedding. They had it all, from phenomenal staff to luxurious facilities, not to mention the stunning views. We had the pleasure of working with Alexandra(Alex) we could not have asked for a better person! Alex knew all of our family members and bridal party’s names, and was extremely personable. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of all night. She brought me a snack before the ceremony and continuously brought me my water all day and night (without me asking)They truly make you feel like a VIP throughout your entire day and their top notch team(along with our caterer David Alan) ensured that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. In the early stages of planning we worked with Jessica Hess and she is extremely helpful and communicative. The mansion truly felt like home for the day. We hosted our ceremony on the vista , cocktail hour was on the terrace, and we had dinner in the East ballroom. Guests were in awe of the estate (we also lucked out with absolutely perfect weather), and how every detail was perfectly executed. “Nuzzo’s was everything we could have dreamed of and more. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s full of twinkly lights, gorgeous mirrors, and so many thoughtful personal touches that make it feel magical. Every single one of our guests commented on how beautiful it was, and everyone had an amazing time. We had a fire pit with s’mores, cornhole, visited the animals, and there was always something fun for everyone to enjoy. The biggest reason our day was so perfect, though, was Audra. When I say she took care of everything, I truly mean everything. At one point my dress was so tight that I couldn’t bend over to change into my reception shoes, and Audra literally helped put my shoes and socks on for me. That’s the kind of person she is. She made the entire day flow flawlessly, even with the rain. She was by our side all day and night, making sure we never had to worry about a single thing. She genuinely rooted for us, kept us calm, and made sure we were actually able to enjoy our wedding day instead of stressing. She is incredibly communicative, organized, and truly an expert at what she does. No matter what came up, she always had a solution and a positive way of looking at it. She kept everyone on track; our bridal party, our families, and all of our vendors. While I only know Audra through Nuzzo’s, I can honestly say she is an amazing person who truly cares about every couple she works with. Her staff was just as incredible. You can tell Audra surrounds herself with wonderful people. I didn’t catch our bartenders’ names, but they were so kind, friendly, and helpful all night. Karyn was another standout. She kept everything moving smoothly, checked on us throughout the day, and was so incredibly kind and encouraging. What an amazing group of people. I truly could not have asked for a better wedding day, and I couldn’t recommend Nuzzo’s more. If you’re looking for a beautiful venue with a team that genuinely cares about making your day perfect, this is it.”

The Lace Factory
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Deep River, CT
  • Up to 300 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $17,500

Even if one didn't put their own personal touches to this space it is still stunning. So much natural and creative lighting with a beautiful courtyard for reception or ceremony. Industrial history, attention to detail and location! Covid procedures and restriction apply.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Combines timeless elegance with history

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • No on-premises lodging options
“I honestly forget if I already wrote a review for The Lace Factory, but recently I was reflecting on our wedding day and a few things stuck out that had me so thankful we held our reception at The Lace Factory. From the beginning of the planning process the team is extremely clear and communicative. I love a checklist and theirs is one that ensures nothing will be forgotten. Our guests are still sharing how gorgeous the venue was, how incredible the food spread was, and one detail I was surprised by, from my cousin who has been to their fair share of large celebrations. "The food was not only delicious, but they managed to serve such a large group and the food was actually hot!" This speaks to the well-oiled machine that is The Lace Factory and it must be emphasized that this machine has heart. They accomplished another feat of having my family and I not worry about the severe allergy of my dad, as they adjusted the menu accordingly, without us having to miss out on all the options. This carried over to assist some guests who also had specific dietary needs. I realize this sounds boring, but it is wonderful to know your guests are safe and fed and focus on the celebrating! The Lace Factory is a venue that can transform your wedding into something beyond your dreams while holding true to your vision.”

“I had my wedding here and it was great. Melissa and Andrea were very helpful and responsive to all my questions. I liked that I was able to adjust what I wanted for my day of before the wedding day rather than being locked into what I had decided the day I signed the contract. They were very flexible and I would recommend them as a wedding venue to anyone. I would have preferred to have the venue for the whole day rather than the allotted time allowed but that doesn't reflect on Melissa and Andrea and how my wedding day went. The wedding was perfect, I would pick The Mountain Room over again.”

“I have loved coming to the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat museum since I was a child so when my husband and I got engaged, we knew we had to get married here. It was such a magical venue and was reasonably priced. They truly don't try to nickel-and-dime you like a lot of other wedding venues, they just want you to have a good experience. The bridal suite was a beautifully decorated air-conditioned train car. We also decided to add on a roundtrip steam train ride down to the CT river and a steamboat cruise as our cocktail hour (honestly didn't cost as much as you'd think...). Our reception was inside the hall and was perfectly air-conditioned and decorated. We did a buffet option and the food was good! If you decide to get married outside, just remember that it IS an active train yard so make sure your officiant has a microphone. Meredith and Tyler were very easy to work with while planning the event. I highly recommend getting married here. Oh, and your photos will look INSANE.”

“We got married at the Elm City Club in early November and only have amazing things to say about the experience! Every aspect of the wedding planning execution went super smoothly working with Sandra and her team, and our guests all loved the beauty of the venue, food, and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend for anyone planning a small to medium sized wedding in Connecticut! Be sure to book way in advance though since it fills up very fast. Pros: -Venue is gorgeous and has a tremendous amount of personality. In our opinion this is the best place to have a wedding in Downtown New Haven, way better than doing a wedding in a hotel. It even has the option of coming pre-decorated if you'd like. -Sandra and her team are extremely professional responsive. Sandra has great attention to detail and helped us plan every bit of the wedding day which helped to put our minds at ease. The club staff all did an incredible job the day of and were very professional as well. -Food was outstanding. Chicken marsala and swordfish were cooked to perfection and the dessert table was a smash hit! (One of our guests gasped when she heard there was a dessert room) -Pricing is very reasonable, especially for Connecticut! There is a lot of flexibility with pricing tiers for food drink.”

“We had our wedding at Bristol Event Center in August of this year and truly cannot say enough good things about our experience. From start to finish, the entire BEC team went above and beyond to make the planning process feel easy, organized, and stress-free. One of the things that meant the most to us was how much care they put into getting our cultural food right. We incorporated Vietnamese dishes into our wedding menu, and the chef did an amazing job, especially considering he had never even eaten Vietnamese food before working with us. The team really took the time to listen to our feedback and make sure the food felt authentic and special to us. Everything turned out beautifully, and our guests loved it. They were also so supportive of us incorporating cultural elements into the wedding, including a lion dance. It was something that was really meaningful to us and our families, and we appreciated how open and accommodating they were in helping us make it happen. Another detail we loved was how customizable all of the screens throughout the venue were. We were able to display our photos, use the screens for our seating chart, and even have our photo displayed on the marquee at the front of the building. Seeing that when we arrived was such a cool and special touch and made the whole venue feel like it was truly ours for the day. Special shout out to Sarah!! She’s your point of contact when you work with BEC and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She and the rest of the team were always easy to reach, prompt with their responses, and never left me hanging. I always felt supported throughout the planning process. Julia, Gina, and the rest of the BEC crew were also wonderful, professional, responsive, and accommodating. I really wanted our guests to have a fun and memorable experience, and BEC was so supportive of all of our ideas. We added an ice cream truck to the celebration, and they were completely on board and helped make everything work smoothly. I never felt like I was asking for too much or going overboard. They really made me feel like we could create the wedding we actually wanted. Coordinating with the hotel attached to the venue was also a breeze, which made the entire wedding weekend easier for both us and our guests. What I appreciated most was that I never had to worry about whether the venue would follow through on what they promised. They consistently came through for us, which allowed me to focus on the important things, enjoying the experience and bringing my dream wedding to life instead of stressing over logistics. Our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be, and Bristol Event Center played such a huge role in making that possible. We are so grateful to Sarah, Julia, Gina, the chef, and the entire BEC team. I would recommend this venue without hesitation to anyone looking for a beautiful space, amazing food, and a team that truly cares about making your wedding feel personal and special.”
