“We have mixed feelings about our experience with Instant Request. Our experience working with the company, overall, was positive, but in retrospect, we wish we would have paid the additional cost to upgrade to a VIP DJ. That way, we could have requested our preferred DJ based on their reviews from other couples.
A little over 2 weeks prior to our wedding, we were assigned our DJ and had our phone consultation with him. Our DJ was very kind, friendly, and asked us thoughtful questions about us and our wedding day, but we had multiple concerns, one of which being that he had never been to our wedding venue, especially since we were using the DJ services during the ceremony and reception, and also, we would be transitioning to a silent disco at the end of the night (as required by the venue).
We could tell that our DJ really cared about our vision and logistics of the wedding day, however, our impression was that he had a reserved personality, and we requested an outgoing and energetic DJ on our preference form. Due to these concerns, I reached out to Instant Request and spoke with one of the staff, who reassured me that they would reach out to our DJ to discuss the layout and logistics of our venue with him.
On the wedding day, our DJ was professional and everything went according to plan. We appreciated that he was intentional about asking each person that was giving a speech and bridal party member how to pronounce their name and facilitated the shoe game during our reception. Overall, we thought our DJ was very friendly and skilled, but would have preferred a DJ with more of an outgoing and upbeat personality. We would still hire Instant Request, but would have paid the additional cost to upgrade to a VIP DJ.”
