Begun as a small ice cream parlor in 1929, the business grew into a restaurant and banquets, well-known for its culinary specialties. The Elmcrest, now dedicated entirely to banquets, continues the family tradition of ensuring memorable special occasions.

The Evergreen Room, our banquet facility, is nestled in a beautifully landscaped hillside. The room features 15 ft. vaulted ceilings, cherry stained wood accents, and large windows that overlook our 27-hole golf course. The room can hold up to 250 guest for a plated reception or 220 for a buffet reception. Attached to the room is The Pub Bar. This large bar is penninsula shaped and served from 3 sides. There are several tables in the surrounding area for guests to easily gather around. You and your guests will have access to our spacious patio where the views of the golf course continue. This space can also serve as the perfect back drop for an on-site ceremony. The Evergreen Room offeres an adjoining Bridal Suite. This serves as a great place to get ready, have a secure place for your personal belongings, or just a private area to retreat when desired.

The Ellwood House Museum is an historic estate that offers three unique rental spaces on ten acres of gardens and grounds. These include the first floor and terraces of elegant Ellcourt, an historic Tudar Revival house built in 1899. It is available from March through mid-November and is our only venue where alcohol service is permissible. Ellcourt has an hourly rate of $350. The grounds also offer a choice of three garden spaces for wedding ceremonies. Garden rentals are available mid-May to mid-October and include an inclement weather backup location in the Hearthside Room of the Visitor Center. The rental rate is a flat fee of $500. The third venue is our more casual space, the Hearthside Room, which includes access to the galleries. It is available March through mid-November, and the rental rate is $75 per hour. All venues are limited to 80 people, and both indoor venues have full kitchens.

The two available stories include two large studio spaces, galley kitchen, sun porch, and professional office, with options to add on massage suite, esthetics suite, and hair salon. In 1976, Hugh and Jody Deery had established themselves as greats in Midwest short track race promoting. With their large plot of land in Loves Park, just miles north of Rockford already housing Rockford Speedway, they asked themselves what's missing? The answer was affordable quality banquet space! Thus the idea for the Forest Hills Banquet was born. Construction began in 1977 and was completed in 1978. The annual Rockford Speedway Banquet was one of the first events held in the newly constructed "Lodge" and we are proud to have played a part in many wonderful celebrations in the years which have followed.

The DuPage County Historical Museum is housed in what was formerly known as the Adams Memorial Library. The building was erected by John Quincy Adams (a distant relative of the Adams presidents) in 1891 to serve as a library and community center for Wheaton in memory of his late wife, Marilla Phipps Adams. In 1967, the building opened as the DuPage County Historical Museum under the operation of the County of DuPage and DuPage County Historical Society. Today, the Museum is operated as a facility of the Wheaton Park District and owned by the County of DuPage. It is the only institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of materials which document the history of DuPage County.
