About this venue
The HarMac Event Space resides in the historic Harper & McIntire building in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed in 1922, the building was originally a warehouse and shipping facility for Harper & McIntire's industrial hardware. The company also procured their own line of hand-crafted tools, coined "HarMac" - thus, our shared name. In 2015, the property was purchased and restored to reflect its original industrial character and charm. The HarMac has been meticulously designed to showcase it's industrial roots and stunning proportions. The flexibility of this distinctive venue allows guests to enjoy it year-round, for many different uses, including weddings, private events, corporate functions, and more.

Two adjoining spaces – 2,900 and 6,600 square feet, respectively – allow endless flexibility and combine to create a show-stopping venue and performance space. Introductory price ranges from $3,500 to $7,000 for venue rental (based upon date and availability).

Stunning Industrial Modern Wedding Venue!
From our first conversation with The HarMac, we knew we had found our venue. The team was responsive and easy to work with every step of the way, making the planning process feel smooth and stress-free. As our wedding day got closer, their communication ramped up in the best way possible—they kept us informed and excited about what was coming. The staff showed up on the day with genuine warmth and made us feel like we were their only priority. The space itself is stunning with its clean, industrial aesthetic that photographs beautifully. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or a better team to bring our vision to life.

Perfect Day, Perfect Venue
The Harmac was the perfect venue for our February wedding. We planned our wedding from out of state and knew we couldn't count on Iowa weather to cooperate in winter. We searched for a venue that had lots natural daylight and would serve as a neutral backdrop for our ceremony and reception. When we found The Harmac we knew it was a perfect fit. From the tour to wedding day the staff was very helpful, responsive, and accommodating and made planning from a distance a breeze. We got many complements on the venue and can't have asked for a better day.

We had our wedding at the HarMac, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The venue is absolutely beautiful, the atmosphere is incredible, and the staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect. A huge thank you to Lauren, our wedding coordinator. To say we were a little disorganized would be an understatement, but she handled everything with such kindness, patience (lots of it😂), and professionalism. She made our day run so smoothly, and we are beyond grateful. If you’re considering the HarMac for your wedding, do it! We couldn’t recommend this venue more. We got married on 3.6.2026 and could not have been happier with our experience at The HarMac. First - Travis and Lia were both amazing every step of the way. They were very quick to respond when I had questions, flexible, and more than willing to help me out whenever I had a question or concern no matter how last minute. The staff (bar and general) were awesome. Our guests hit the bar fast and hard, and they handled the volume with ease and professionalism. As the bride, I appreciated how each bartender made sure to notice me right away and never kept me waiting for a drink. The venue is beautiful, easily accessible, and functional. All night long our guests would not stop talking about how impressed they were with the space. Finally - their pricing structure felt super fair and transparent. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening for our wedding!
