The HarMac Event Space resides in the historic Harper & McIntire building in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa. ​Completed in 1922, the building was originally a warehouse and shipping facility for Harper & McIntire's industrial hardware. The company also procured their own line of hand-crafted tools, coined "HarMac" - thus, our shared name. In 2015, the property was purchased and restored to reflect its original industrial character and charm. After graduating I went on to be Chef de Cuisine at Caucho for 2 years, during this time I was named one of the ‘40 women to watch’ by the Iowa Restaurant Association. I then went on to be Executive Chef at Popoli for almost 1 year before closing due to Covid. This is when I decided to take a chance on myself and opened up the business I had always dreamed of. In 2019 I decided to leave my position at the hotel and opened Sugar Flower Cake Design.
