I got my start many years ago when I was living back home in Chicago, at a cute little bakery, that I still visit to this day! I went back and forth between working in graphic design to cooking and baking. I started working in the bakery at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center as a part-time line cook in 2013 and in 2015 a became their in-house cake designer. In 2019 I decided to leave my position at the hotel and opened Sugar Flower Cake Design. I love seeing the joy when my clients cut into their cake and take their first bite - it makes life much sweeter! - Jennifer Smith

I really like to give each couple of mine one on one attention, starting with the tasting consultation, designing their cake and working with a budget they have in mind; as well, setting up time to meet with them prior to their wedding to make sure that I have all their information and details in place. After all it's not just a cake, it's the last meal of their wedding and it has to be memorable!

Delivery is complimentary within a 1 hour drive and includes set up of your cake. Delivery charge applies to deliveries beyond a 1 hour drive.
Usually I suggest ordering based on the number of guests you will serve. This is something I have you choose for when you fill out my quote page on my website or tasting consutlation page. You can also email me and I will suggest several options that you can choose from.
Absolutely! When I work with my couples, I like to take what designs they are most attracted to and tailor the design to their taste. This include designing around colors of their wedding, bridal florals, theme, lace patterns or invitations.
