How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors

“Bakers Ranch is a team of informed wedding professionals who are experts in the unique art of weddings. Our wedding day felt like pure magic, and it is truly thanks to the incredible team at this wedding venue. Our guests were in awe of the space, and we received so many compliments regarding the décor, drinks, food, photographer and overall experience. My husband and I put a lot of time and research into finding the right wedding venue for us, and we walked away from our wedding day with a feeling of pride for our selection, and gratitude for the support we received. We looked at venues across three states. It was a little overwhelming and emotional, knowing that the venue would dictate so much of our time as an engaged couple and ultimately, our one wedding day. “Stroudsmoor is the real deal. When we got engaged, my top priority was that I did not want to be stressed on my wedding day. Leading up to the day, I knew there was a lot of work, a lot of planning, but on my actual wedding day, I wanted to take care of nothing. I wanted to be in charge of nothing. I used to work in events, and I know the depth and insanity that comes with planning an event and how hard the actual event day can be. I knew that whatever venue we picked, it would need to be as all-inclusive and simple as possible. Everything about Stroudsmoor was a dream. The entire process was seamless. They were so professional. They were upfront on costs. Any service they did not offer themselves they had a list of preferred, recommended vendors. Leading up to the wedding day, we met with our planner, Kaylie, regularly, their on-site florist, Grayson, and Gina and the whole team at the bridal salon were incredible. “We had our wedding at the Milestone Mansion on 10/31/2025. The venue is amazing and beautiful. From the moment we toured it, we knew that we wanted to book there. They have both outdoor options for a ceremony as well as an indoor option. We held our ceremony outdoor, down by the gazebo. Then our cocktail hour on the patio, and reception in the ballroom. It was the perfect day. The staff on day of was spectacular, and have heard nothing but good days. We worked with Melissa throughout our planning process and she was great. Was always able to answer questions and accommodating. We added on the day of coordination and had Melissa run our day. Would highly recommend anyone to do that. She took care of all the nitty gritty and we got to enjoy our day completely. It is very apparent that Melissa loves what she does and is very passionate about it. We are not aware of any issues or things that came up, and we have to believe its because she handled everything. She set up our decor and ran our timeline for us. They offer multiple all inclusive packages that can fit anyone's needs, as well as add-on features. I think they are able to fit what anyone is looking for, as they are accommodating and flexible. We switched out one of ours beers in our bar package for a seltzer, and that was a hit. The food was delicious and the bartenders provided great service for our guests.”

“We got married at Diety a couple months ago but we actually found Deity two years prior to that when I stumbled upon this venue online. Originally we were not even searching for a venue in new york city but when we found Deity - I thought, this is too good to be true and booked a viewing immediately. We were immediately impressed with not only the gorgeous venue but their all in one package, and the flexibility and kindness we received on our initial viewing made us confident we found the right place. Throughout the wedding process Caio always answered my questions and were so open to all our ideas and remained flexible to help us execute a unique and special day. On the day of the wedding and leading up we had the pleasure of working with Anastasia who helped execute everything for us. The day ran so smoothly and Anastasia did not miss a beat - she not only ran the entire show, she always made sure we were taken care of and she quickly became a close friend we trusted that night. The chef James executed a special all vegan menu for us and both us and our guests raved about the food and we are still being told our delicious the vegan meatballs were! The bartenders and servers were also all amazing, the drinks were amazing and the service was quick. The DJ also killed it and was able to keep everyone on the dance floor all night and also went above and beyond with our song requests for the day. We are so beyond happy we got married at Deity and could have not found a better venue that cared so much, was filled with so much detail and care and had the best employees working for them who made it all possible.”

“Living in AZ a majority of wedding venues are desert landscaped, which is beautiful but not something I was looking for. I also noticed while looking at other venues the background of the ceremony had buildings or houses that were visible in the pictures, again, not something I was looking for. After months of searching I came across Venue at the Grove and absolutely fell in love just by looking at the pictures alone. I set up a tour and let me tell you pictures do not do that place justice. Seeing it in person during the day and at night with all the trees lit up is absolutely beautiful!! The venue is all inclusive which helped tremendously because during that year leading up to the wedding I can honestly stay I was stress free (minus the seating chart lol) Communicating with the staff was great and their timelines getting back to me about all my questions was always right away. This venue checked all of our boxes- food and alcohol service, an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour space, and an elegant and open reception space. The staff at this venue, from our day-of coordinator (shout out to Ellen) down to the waitstaff, know exactly what they're doing and how to make a wedding run smoothly. Ellen was a rockstar throughout the entire planning process - communicative, responsive, and professional, and helped the day run seamlessly even when things got a bit chaotic. We even had a wedding attendant that kept us and the bridal party fed and provided drinks throughout transitional times. “100% would recommend Walden for a stress-free wedding experience!!! We knew Walden was our venue when we read about their full-service wedding packages including planners, kitchen/bar all under one roof. After we toured the venue, we could not wait to have our wedding here. Our main planners were Hannah and Briscel, and we had the pleasure of a 3rd planner, Ally with a last-minute day-of staffing change. Hannah and Briscel took the stress out of wedding planning, keeping us on track with every detail and vendor. Ally made sure the wedding day ran seamlessly. One of the best things we loved about working with the planners was their recommendations for local vendors (floral, DJ, photography etc.). Their assistance contacting and coordinating calls/quotes from vendors was also a huge help. Every possible detail regarding the wedding was accounted for, so we were certain nothing would be missed along the way. Now for the fun part, our wedding day was absolutely perfect and better than we ever dreamt. The coordinators kept us on schedule and sent an itinerary in advance, so everyone knew where to be and what was coming up next. They handled all of the communication with vendors and all the little details, so we could fully be present on our wedding day. We did not have any moments of stress, or panic, and was rarely asked any questions or to do any tasks. The Walden team set everything up for us from the welcome sign to the memorial table and of course the gorgeous reception room. It’s like suddenly we got teleported into our Pinterest vision board! A big shout out to Nick and Matt, the kitchen and bar staff. They were absolutely amazing! The drinks were awesome, the bartenders could make any drink guests wanted including mocktails. The food was incredible, so many guests complimented on how delicious their meals were. We also really appreciated their accommodations for various food restrictions and preferences. Overall, the Walden staff has truly thought of everything. They made the very daunting task of planning a wedding much more manageable, and made the whole day that much more special. Could not think of a better venue in the area for folks planning a wedding!”

At the turn of the century the company faced a crisis: the site of their mill would be flooded to form the Wachusett Reservoir. “My husband and I got married at The Sanctuary last weekend and had the time of our lives! We fell in love with the venue early on in our search and were shocked by how affordable it was for NYC given all that it included. From the large bridal suite (really, house!) to the quality food and the fire pit, we were blown away by it all. They were able to accommodate everything we asked for, including having our dog participate in the ceremony and having enough coupe glasses for our signature drink. I’m not sure I heard “no” once from Arthur and his team! Truly incredible service. All of our guests raved about how cool the venue was. It has a funky, nontraditional vibe while also providing everything that a traditional wedding venue offers. And oh boy were they attentive during the event. Every time my glass was empty, it seemed Arthur or another member of the team handed me a fresh glass. Our package included a lot of extras (DJ, cake, late-night pizza), which just added to the incredible value. Thank you SO much Sanctuary team for making our wedding an incredible night!”

“We could not have asked for a better experience at Green Acres. From the moment we toured it we knew it was the one. It has so much character compared to some of these new "modern" venues that are just plain and require a lot of decorating from your end, which we did not want. “We got married at the Red Barn in June 2025 and can't say enough good things about the wedding and the Red Barn staff. At every interaction, they went above and beyond for us. The venue is absolutely stunning and I loved that there were so many options for taking photos. We also stayed at the Stage House Inn and did our rehearsal lunch there, which made the whole experience easy and seamless for ourselves and guests. One thing future bride/grooms will understand is how overwhelming starting wedding planning can be, and how hard it is to figure out pricing for all your vendors. I've heard horror stories from girlfriends on hidden fees and surprise costs. The Red Barn was so transparent on costs from the start, which was a huge differentiator for me. We worked with Alex and Colleen and they were both fantastic- so organized and communicative. As someone who didn't have a dedicated planner, it was invaluable to have Colleen available to help plan our day. Colleen was on top of my 10,000 emailed questions and put me at ease in the days leading up to the wedding. Everything went so well, our guests had a great time and we owe that to the Red Barn and the staff! Big shout out to Moe as well who made sure the groom and I were well fed and always had a cocktail in hand (and a smile on our faces!). “Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center was the perfect venue for our daughter & son-in-law’s wedding. The location to the airport, highway and hotel were ideal. Their property provided plenty of parking. The wedding was outside on a 92 day and was flawless. It was hot, but the trees were in the perfect position to shade the entire patio. The entire staff was amazing. The reception space was transformed into a beautiful space for our special celebration. Our family and friends shared with us how delicious the appetizers, meal and “aftertizers” of the homemade pretzels. Christine the Event Manager went above and beyond and made sure the day was special for everyone. She answered all of my questions, even up to the last minute. We were so impressed with how many times Christine checked in with us to make sure we were happy. We highly recommend Donauschwaben’s German-American Cultural Center.”

“Got married at Simple Affair this June and everything was wonderful from start to finish! From the very first visit before securing the date, the staff was very informative and helpful. Maddy, our event coordinator, was so responsive and attentive to any and all questions we had throughout the planning process. The day of, the team that was working was very helpful as well and adjusted to even the smallest last minute changes we made to our timeline and the different adjustments we made to the flow of the reception. I could not recommend this venue enough! They have so many different options and can as involved and all inclusive or as hands off as you would like them to be, it’s really very personalizable and we couldn’t have picked a better option! Another great benefit is that if you are a DIY bride, they are so adaptable to your vision and can help assist in bringing your Pinterest board to life. The space of the venue really is so big it’s amazing how well you can decorate the space and still have room for a big dance floor. “Incredible. The Flagstaff House exceeded our expectations in every way. When we were initially brainstorming our wedding we wanted to prioritize the food and the music, aiming for a "supper club" vibe, and Flagstaff certainly knocked it out of the park. We decided on a day time lunch wedding and it was so much fun. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how incredible the event was - the 5 star food, the delicious drinks, the wait staff's attentiveness, the VIEWS. Annie coordinated our event and she was absolutely wonderful. A true professional who is accommodating to all ends. Even when we weren't sure about something, Annie was always there with an excellent suggestion on how to execute. The wait staff come around and take drink orders, as opposed to the typical wedding bar that has a huge line. The kitchen accommodated all food and allergy restrictions with ease, and the bar staff even created some delicious fall cocktails on our behalf. We couldn't be happier with our ceremony overlooking the flatiron mountains. The location is truly special. They've made us raving fans and we will certainly be back for a "regular" dinner service soon.”

Our Farm sits on 54-Acres in Bucks County. Our Seed Barn was originally built back in the 1820's. Our Seed Barn was restored in the Summer of 2016 & seats 160-200 people. Attached to the back of the Seed Barn is a beautiful deck that overlooks the ceremony site. In the lower level of the Seed Barn is our Groom’s Suite! Here you will find a pool table, TV, lounge seating area & more. In 2020 we built our Harvest Barn attached to the Seed Barn through a breezeway. This is home for our commercial kitchen, on-site bathrooms, smaller event space and bridal suite. Lastly, we have a Farm-to-Table bakery onsite for your dessert table & custom wedding cake. The Farm is truly a wonderful place to host your big day! Our goal is to work with each couple to carry out their vision for the day! What is great about The Farm is it truly can be anything you would like it to be, from a backyard barbecue to a beautiful sit down farm-to-table dinner! We would love to serve you on your Wedding Day.

“I recently had the honor of planning, coordinating, and doing hair and makeup for a styled wedding photoshoot at The Farm Bakery & Events, and let me just say… this venue is incredible. I worked directly with Becca and Alyssa, who were SO kind, friendly, and welcoming from the start. They truly went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was thought out, beautifully executed, and aligned with the vision!!! I sent over a mood board and gave them full creative freedom to showcase their talents and WOW!!!! SO FREAKING TALENTED!! The florals were exactly what I had envisioned (and somehow even better), the cake was hands-down the most stunning I’ve ever seen, and the venue itself was spotless, bright, and the perfect space for a large group of vendors to come together, create, and feel at home. As a bridal hair and makeup artist, I’ve worked many weddings at The Farm Bakery and Events and can honestly say every one of my brides has had nothing but amazing things to say. From the moment I walk in to start setting up in the bridal suite (prior to the bride party’s arrival), a team member always comes in to introduce themselves and ask if we need anything. That small gesture speaks volumes about how much they value and respect their fellow wedding pros. Throughout the day, their coordinators consistently check in to make sure the entire crew, from the bride and bridal party to the vendors, feels taken care of. The bridal suite is gorgeous with plenty of space for everyone to relax and get ready comfortably. But the venue itself? Even BETTER. Getting to see it all styled in real life (not just through photos) is truly breathtaking. I’ve worked at sooo many venues, and I can confidently say The Farm Bakery and Events is one of my absolute favorites. If you’re a couple searching for a modern, clean, bright wedding venue with rustic charm, THIS IS IT. And the cherry on top? They also do florals and cakes.
