Arts at the Armory delivered on the wedding of our dreams! We knew when we started planning that we didn't want a cookie cutter wedding. We wanted a venue that would celebrate our vision and work with us to bring a little magic to life. And WOW did they ever! We felt great supporting the local art community in Somerville and truly felt that sense of community the whole way through. The Armory team championed our ideas and supported all of our unique touches. When there were limitations, they offered creative solutions that made our day so special. For example, Flora, the bar manager, helped us work within their bar license limitations to create elegant and elevated Prosecco cocktails that our guests loved. The space itself is really remarkable even as a blank canvas. Once their team stepped in with the lighting and sound design, my jaw dropped. Stepping into the space once it was transformed into our dream venue brought me to tears. I know our wedding was completely unique because of all the special attention the entire Armory staff offered us. Special shout out to Kim, their production manager, who really helped me see through each little detail to bring it all to life. If you are looking for a venue who will let you be who you are AND offer meaningful expertise along the way, stop looking now and just book the Armory.

My wife and I had the wonderful experience of being married in the Somerville Museum. We found it after looking at many other local venues; and it was love at first sight. It was perfect for our needs, in both size and aesthetics. There is a central staircase which is absolutely beautiful. Additionally it had lots of windows which enabled the space to be filled with lovely natural light. Our 40 guests loved the setting as well and still comment on how nice it was! The best part was that Stephanie, the museum director, was great to work with. She was exceptionally flexible and accommodating which helped all the planning and our wedding go super smoothly. It was a perfect day!

Juliet was the perfect venue for our small, intimate city wedding reception. From the moment we first reached out, their communication was prompt and detailed as we navigated the planning process. We had a couple of guests with some tricky food allergies and the team was very accommodating with lots of substitution suggestions. Also, they were flexible about dropping off and picking up items before and after the wedding, which was one less stressor for us. The venue itself is beautiful - high-end and intimate, with a level of quality that made our day feel really special and bespoke. Also, the wait staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding experience, and we're so grateful to the Juliet team for helping to make our day perfect. As a plus, now when we go out to brunch or dinner at Juliet, it has extra special meaning for us!

A Dream Wedding at Margeaux Supper Parlor We hosted our engagement party turned wedding at Margeaux Supper Parlor, and it was pure magic. From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the beauty of the space - especially the bar, which created the most stunning backdrop for photos we’ll cherish forever. Rebekah, the owner, and her incredible team thought of everything. From a custom, dairy-free menu (which was so important to me) to specialty passed cocktails and thoughtful service throughout, not a single detail was missed. The private oasis room was the perfect retreat for a quiet moment together during the celebration and added such a personal touch to the evening. And yes, we even sabered champagne! Whether it’s a bridal shower, engagement party, or wedding, we can’t recommend Margeaux enough. It’s a truly special place run by truly special people.

This Victorian treasure was built in the late 1880s, and originally served as the county courthouse. • Bridal suite on site

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available

The Multicultural Arts Center was a beautiful venue for our wedding ceremony and reception! We had our ceremony outdoors in the courtyard just outside the building, and the staff helped us to get the permits to use the courtyard, helped to set up microphones for the ceremony, and also helped work with us on a backup plan to have the ceremony indoors in case it had rained on our wedding day. The courtyard is a charming spot with trellises and greenery and is surrounded by classic-looking New England buildings. Adria and Taylor on the staff were extremely helpful in helping us plan our reception: they answered our many questions and let us rehearse in the venue so that we could figure out how we wanted to lay out the space. The theater hall was an amazing place to have our reception: we especially loved the balcony and the design of the ceiling, and there was plenty of room for a little over 100 guests, buffet tables, a DJ, and a dance floor. The venue was also a really convenient location for our guests - it's close to the T and has several nearby hotels. Would highly recommend!

Our daughter just celebrated her wedding this past weekend at the Kimpton Marlowe, and I can't imagine a more perfect experience! We visited quite a few venues that we loved, but once we found KM and Rachel, we knew we had found our place. I'm not sure where to begin! The planning process was never stressful thanks to Rachel's patience, professionalism and organizational skills. Our daughter lives out of state, and I can only imagine the insane amount of emails that flew back and forth between her and Rachel! She kept us all calm, and we were always confident that the day would be perfect because of her extraordinary efforts. The venue itself has everything a bridal party could want. It's in an accessible location for out of state visitors to explore Boston and Cambridge. The staff are all warm, friendly and eager to help with anything. The price is very reasonable; we had ruled out Boston/Cambridge because of our budget, but KM turned out to be right on target. There is convenient parking on site. We were offered a block of rooms in the hotel for an amazingly good price, so that our guests didn't have to worry about driving after a big party! The food was exceptional, from appetizers to dinner and even late night snacks of pizza, cookies and milk! The reception room was gorgeous and is very easy to work with because of the neutral colors. I think one of our favorite parts was that we had the entire second floor of the hotel to ourselves! The ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and even a room for the bride to retreat when she needed to change was all included. The younger guests danced until the very end, and the "older" parents and guests found a quiet spot to hang out in the lobby area outside of the reception hall, filled with comfortable sofas, chairs and tables. All who attended were happy with the many choices to party, relax and mingle. In my opinion, KM and Rachel are a still a hidden gem in the greater Boston area. I hope this review helps to get the word out that they are the place to go if you are looking for an affordable option with fabulous spaces, delicious food and most of all, an event planner who puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Thank you, KM and Rachel! 3

City Winery is as an awesome venue for a wedding. We were able to do a walk through the day before and bring items for set up the day before, which made our day of much easier. The City Winery team was amazing at doing all the set up. They are pros! From reception tables to ceremony chairs. Their sound system is amazing for a DJ and contributed to the reason that our dance floor was packed for three hours straight. Having a 180 person wedding was great for this venue, as we were able to use the dining area, bar area for cocktail hour, and concert venue for the reception. From overseeing our ceremony music to allowing us to truly transforms the space, this venue is a great fit for someone with creative ideas! For over 50 years, our farm-to-table restaurant in Cambridge has provided a welcoming setting for weddings and special events. We offer thoughtfully sourced, seasonal menus and versatile spaces for every part of your celebration, including rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, receptions, and farewell brunches. Named by Eater as Boston’s Best Private Dining Rooms for Weddings, our venue is known for exceptional service, seamless planning, and a dining experience that highlights the best of New England ingredients. Whether you're hosting an intimate gathering or a larger event, we provide a refined yet comfortable atmosphere tailored to your needs. Harvest is part of the Himmel Hospitality Group and sister restaurant to Grill 23 & Bar, The Banks Seafood & Steak, and Bistro du Midi.

We celebrated an intimate wedding with 15 family members (14 adults and a baby) at Harvest in their Fireplace room. The day was absolute perfection- the room was spacious yet cozy on a frigid 10 degree day, the service was phenomenal, and the food was spectacular. We were a difficult group to feed; nearly every guest had a unique dietary restriction and Harvest ensured that each guest would remain safe and happy while dining. We will forever cherish this special celebration and look forward to dining at Harvest in the future!

We loved having our wedding at Alden & Harlow! Our guests are still raving about it and we're still not over how perfect it was. The food is impeccable. Despite serving a huge crowd, the food was as delicious (if not even better?!) as it always is. People are still texting us to tell us they're thinking about our wedding food, which is rare! Just be prepared - if you're doing family style, the pacing is a bit slow. We had 6 family style plates and they came out two at a time over the course of an hour. We had no complaints, just something to consider for your timeline! The staff was super accommodating, friendly, and helpful on the day of our wedding. They set up all of our decor/signage in record time and pulled the space together beautifully. We could tell they were so excited to be hosting a wedding, and they made us feel so special! The bartenders were a hit and the servers were a blast. Despite having a slightly odd shape (the seating in the greenhouse space is separated from the dining room by the long bar), the space is perfect for a wedding. We sat 122 guests comfortably, and still had the entire dance floor space free all night. The dining room is big enough to fit a full dance floor, but small enough that everyone is dancing close together, which was exactly what we wanted! Also worth noting we did our first look upstairs at Longfellow bar before they opened and the space and team was wonderful there, too. The photos turned out amazing. My only word of caution is to keep in mind that this is not a traditional wedding venue. Since they don't do a ton of weddings here, it's not as simple of a process as it might be at other venues. We had to do some of the leg work to figure out the seating chart, the timeline, and the menus, and sometimes we'd go a few months without hearing back from the team there. This was all totally fine for us, but it might not be everyones cup of tea. Some of the more unique elements of the wedding actually turned out to be our favorites: we sat at the bar with a bunch of our friends for dinner, almost everyone had to stand for the ceremony, and the people seated in the greenhouse stood on the dance floor for speeches/first dances since they wouldn't be able to see/hear from their seats. These all made the whole night feel so casual and fun and intimate, which was exactly what we wanted. Overall, we absolutely ADORED the team at Alden and genuinely couldn't be more grateful to them for helping us throw the best party of our lives. I can't imagine getting married anywhere else!!! The food, drinks, atmosphere, and team are all 1000/10. If you're open to getting creative and putting in a little work to throw an iconic city wedding, then you should ABSOLUTELY get married here!!

We had our wedding at the Marriott Long Wharf October 7 2023 and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Meg Garruto is a true gem and was a dream to work with! We were actually booked at another venue and after some issues we decided we needed to find another venue and actually booked Long Wharf site unseen. Our original venue not working our was the biggest blessing in disguise. The attention to details and the accessibility to answer any questions we had was above and beyond. There was absolutely no stress in wedding planning thanks to Meg and her team. We also were so impressed with the food! From the cocktail hour to late night snacks everything was perfect. Our guests have been raving about the service and the food for the past week! The location of the hotel and the views are worth booking for alone. If you are looking to book a Boston area hotel for your wedding I would seriously consider booking long wharf before it’s too late! We are already looking into visiting for our one year anniversary (and we are not locals!) because we love the hotel so much!

My wife and I had our wedding at Mothership in the early Spring, and everything about the experience was top notch! Their Events Manager, Kelly, was one of the most organized, communicative and professional people I've ever worked with. From food options to set up and decorations, the Mothership team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their willingness to accommodate the many guests with varying dietary restrictions was astounding, and EVERYTHING was delicious. They even made our wedding cake plus an array of gluten free and vegan desserts. The space was perfect and was able to comfortably fit our guests for dinner to dancing. They converted their day-time cafe space into the most amazing dance floor for us and our DJ. All in all, this team truly made our special day PERFECT, and I will forever be recommending them to all of our friends and family!!

Shout out to Pat for running to Staples for a wire we needed to make the video for our entrance happen. Such dedication and genuine interactions from every single person we interacted with, beginning to end. It’s impossible to fully express how wonderful PAGU is, both as a standalone restaurant and as a wedding venue. As Cambridge residents, we had eaten here with friends and family and knew the food, drinks, and service were excellent, and I hosted a work event with a partial buy out that everyone enjoyed, so it quickly came to the top of our list after we got engaged and were looking into wedding venues. From the very beginning, the staff, especially event manager Amanda, were so easy to work with, and they were very flexible to make the space, menu, and overall wedding very personal to us. After a cocktail hour with both passed apps and stations, we opted to have a buffet style wedding so we could accommodate a variety of palettes (our families are from different cultures: Chinese/Indonesian and German/Italian), everyone could find something they liked, and we could show off a seafood paella in a large format paella pan. They even offered a Thai pesto dish that is not standard on their menu! They were also extremely conscientious about guests with food allergies, clearly marking them on menus, and even going to specific guests (especially those with celiac disease) and providing separate non-cross contaminated dishes. They also managed the flow of tables and buffet line efficiently and flawlessly, which can’t be overlooked, as we’ve been to weddings where this wasn’t the case. Our guests all told us it was the best wedding food and cocktails they’ve ever had, and we were so excited to share one of our favorite restaurants with them. The space was perfect for our 110 person wedding. The outdoor patio was a nice space for a cocktail hour and provided a quiet place to hang out when the dance floor later opened. The main restaurant is much larger than it looks, so it manages to feel intimate while still fitting over 100 people without feeling cramped. We had the DJ upstairs in the mezzanine like a real DJ booth, which allowed him to have a great read on the dance floor and assure no one was sitting right in front of a speaker. Finally, they cleared the front two large tables for a dance floor that was plenty large enough for everyone to dance for over 2 hours. Finally, we were thrilled to use our wedding to support a local business that not only has a mission to serve excellent food and drinks (they’ve received James Beard Award nominations!), but also to build community. Chef/owner Tracy Chang founded several nonprofits during COVID to provide economic relief to restaurant workers and donate meals to hospital workers, and she and PAGU have been hosting roundtable events to start conversations about sustainability, culture, and community. We first heard of PAGU after my sister went to a roundtable event about using invasive green crabs in cooking! We knew hosting a wedding was going to be an investment, and while we would have been so happy choosing PAGU for our wedding for the myriad of reasons above, we felt especially great about putting our investment into a place that cares about the world and community around it. We could not recommend PAGU enough for your wedding!

I was originally anti-hotel wedding. "How boring, how cookie cutter," I thought. Then I toured OPH on a whim once I realized I was priced out of my dream Boston venues - I was pleasantly surprised. Though renovations had not taken place yet, I could see what a historic, old-school Boston charm the place had. The pricing was also extremely reasonable by Boston standards (though I don't know how much they've changed since I booked in summer 2024) and included so much - dinner, open bar, cake, etc. I would be remiss if I didn't compliment Julie (who had since moved on) who really sealed the deal - her warm and friendly demeanor made it easy to imagine working with her. All of the other banquet and events staff I worked with (Latchman, Marshall, etc.) were equally lovely. OPH events staff really go above and beyond, they manage your event from start to finish, set up decor, and are super friendly and communicative. From what I understand, most venue coordinators are simply there to unlock the doors and make sure the food goes out, but the folks at OPH make it possible to have no or limited day-of coordination services from an outside vendor. The renovations have made this hotel and its event spaces even more beautiful, without over-modernizing. It still feels old-school, but just brighter and well-taken care of. The food was incredible (guests were raving), and while that wasn't a priority for me, it was a wonderful bonus. The city views from the ballroom are incredible. Only minor inconveniences to keep in mind: the hotel is OLD - so the freight elevator is small (some vendors had difficulty loading in/out), the wiring is finicky (the electricity in our suite went out a few times while getting ready, though it was restored quickly), and the fire codes are fairly strict (no taper candles, even with hurricane glasses). For me, these were hardly even issues, but it may be good to know. I can't say enough good things about OPH, I think it's a really underrated and lesser-known venue that people who want a downtown Boston wedding should consider!

We feel beyond lucky to have chosen Hampshire House to celebrate the most important day of our lives. From the very first photo I saw of the venue, I instantly fell in love.I could immediately envision everyone we love gathered in that warm, elegant space, celebrating together in a way that felt both intimate and timeless. It perfectly captured the spirit of what we dreamed for our wedding: a meaningful gathering with family, friends, and mentors. From the beginning of our planning journey, Victoria was truly exceptional. Her responsiveness was lightning-fast (even when I packed a dozen questions into a single email!), and she was consistently calm, cheerful, and organized through the often chaotic planning process. I’ll never forget how welcomed we felt when we met her in person for the first time at our tasting. Her kindness, professionalism, and flexibility gave me instant peace of mind that everything on the big day would be taken care of—and it was, and more. Victoria went above and beyond to accommodate every one of our needs, no matter how small, and her quiet support meant everything when other parts of the planning felt unpredictable. She took detailed notes, followed through on every ask, and always made me feel like our wedding truly mattered to her. On the wedding day itself, Victoria, Lindsay, and Elissa (apologies if I spelled any names wrong!) were absolute stars. These three incredible women were everywhere—effortlessly managing logistics, adjusting details on the fly, and doing it all with radiant smiles. They handled so many things I could see—setting up our escort card table to look pristine, subtly hiding visual clutter to keep the space beautiful, helping adjust the tone of the pianist’s music to match the mood, even helping us with tech like setting up my phone for the playlist—and I’m sure there were dozens more things they did that we didn’t even notice. That’s the thing about the team at Hampshire House: they care as deeply and attentively as we did. They treated our wedding as something truly meaningful, not just another event on the calendar. Every detail was cared for, not just the obvious ones, but even the ones we didn’t know to think about. Hampshire House made us feel so seen, so supported, and so celebrated. We will remember their kindness, effort, and magic forever:)

I could not have dreamed of a better venue for our wedding than the Langham Hotel. Fabrina Guzman is so kind, professional, and truly a pleasure to work with. She is amazing at what she does and helped us plan to the very last detail. She constantly made herself available, checked in on planning progress, and ensured all our questions were answered. In the weeks leading up to our wedding date, she coordinated well with my other vendors and really help to alleviate stress by taking a lot off my plate. There was a chance of rain on our wedding day and the night before, she even organized getting us an umbrella that would look nice in photos and had it ready for us in our room. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness is unmatched! The service at our reception was truly 5 star quality. My husband and I were so impressed with the food and beverage service that we are still talking about it weeks later! Many of our guests shared this with us as well.
