About this venue
Whether it be for a wedding reception, wedding ceremony or groups gathering for business will find a gracious welcome at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center in Wethersfield, Connecticut. In the heart of the state’s largest historic district, this handsome Victorian property features two stories of airy, bright, and spacious meeting rooms. This stunning building, erected in 1893 as a public high school, has been a cornerstone of community life for decades. In 1985, in partnership with the Town of Wethersfield, the Historical Society initiated a million-dollar renovation. Renamed in honor of Navy Ensign Robert Allan Keeney, thanks to a generous donation from local patron Emma Keeney, the Keeney Center underwent a complete restoration in 2008. Today, visitors have the chance to explore this magnificent historic gem in all its splendor.

The Keeney Ballroom offers timeless sophistication with its picturesque windows, elegant chandeliers, and a stunning Steinway baby grand piano. Enhanced by a full audio system and retractable projector screen, this adaptable space caters to diverse occasions, from weddings to corporate gatherings. Accommodating 50 to 200 guests, its expansive 60′ x 30′ layout ensures memorable events. The adjoining Sherman Room serves as a versatile option, perfect for a bar setup during parties or as a breakout space for business functions.

With a capacity of 40 people and measuring 30′ x 22′, it’s perfect for committee meetings, workshops, and break-out sessions. Now equipped with its own digital projector and retractable screen.
