About this venue

Lafayette Greens is a green space and urban garden in the heart of downtown Detroit, next door to the famous Coney Islands and across the street from the fabulous Westin Book Cadillac Hotel. The award-winning garden, created by Kenneth Weikal Landscape Architecture, was donated to The Greening of Detroit by Compuware in 2014 and is a place of beauty. A certified pollinator garden, focused on growing plants for butterflies, native and honey bees and birds, your ceremony could take place amongst the fluttering of butterflies, chirping of birds and happy hum of bees.

Sunflower Terrace

A lovely terrace surrounded by sunflowers & apple blossoms.

Nestled in the northeast corner of Lafayette Greens, the Sunflower Terrace is surrounded by sunflowers and flowering apple trees. This is our largest patio area allowing for clustered seating and an aisle wreathed by herbs and native wildflowers running from west to east.

Lavender Promenade

Soothing, breathtaking space.

As main corridor transecting Lafayette Greens, the Lavender promenade runs north to south and ends under a beautiful arbor covered in vining kiwi. Benches line the promenade, making for easy guest seating with a perfect view! The scent of lavender lingers in the air, joined by fresh rosemary, basil, narcissi and hardy mums.

Yes! We do not provide food or beverages.
No we do not, however there is a surface lot directly across the street and a parking garage adjacent.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible.
Our rental fee includes access to our beautiful, blank slate space. You will have full day access to set up your vendors and décor and to enjoy your celebration!
Your reservation includes eight hours from start to finish, you will be responsible for set up and clean up the following day. Our staff will be available to help manage your vendors.
A refund of the 50% deposit is available, as long as the cancellation is 48 hours before the event date.
Our building is located 20 miles away from Detroit Metropolitan Airport. You can reach our venue by private car or taxi.
No, our venue is fully insured.
