The Herring Creek House was born from a love of timeless celebrations and the natural beauty of Virginia’s countryside. As the sister property of Burlington Weddings & Events in Charles City, Virginia, we share the same heart - creating spaces where love stories unfold, milestones are honored, and memories linger long after the last song fades. Starry Night Events
We were honored to be the first wedding at the Herring Creek House and I knew everything was going to be perfect from my history with the property owners and their Director of Events. It lived up to everything we hoped it would. They worked really hard to make everything just right for the couple. The attention to detail in creating the spaces and their customer service were spot on. We had a wonderful weekend and are so thankful for everyone at the Herring Creek House for making it amazing.

We require you use our preferred planners and caterers

Yes, contracted clients may bring their own alcohol. All alcohol must be served in accordance with Virginia ABC laws and by a professional bartender, either through your caterer or other hired service for the duration of your entire event. We require a copy of the caterer’s ABC license OR you may provide us with a “day-of” banquet license individually procured from Virginia ABC. All guests will be served within the limitations of Virginia ABC regulations.

No refunds will be issued in the event of a cancellation. We highly suggest you procure event insurance, which covers multiple circumstances, including cancellations.

We require a signed contract and 50% down to hold a date

We do not offer off season pricing but we have weekday pricing.

We recommend staying in Williamsburg, Richmond or airbnb/B&B's near by

Yes from 7am to 10pm

We allow 6 hours of event time, the latest we will allow the event to go is 10pm.

Yes we have 2 to 3 staff members on site the whole time

All buildings open at 10am but the bridal cottage can be open at 7am

we use a system called 17hats that sends everything to your email and allows you to pay online as well

Yes, we have ample parking for any event size, including space for buses, limos, etc. We also have handicap accessible spaces.

All building at Herring Creek house are ADA compliant to ensure all guests are able to enjoy the event to the fullest.The property is equipped with brick walkways and our staff is happy to assist with the transportation of disabled or elderly guests across the venue.
