If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue then look no farther! We could not have asked for a better experience even with delaying our wedding a whole year due to COVID. Every single member of the Barns team is exceptional! I do have to brag on Delaney just a bit who was our coordinator, her attention to detail is top notch and she kept me from worrying about anything! The grounds are absolutely beautiful as well! We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding! Thank you so much to the Barns of Kanak team!

From our first virtual chat all the way up to our (very delayed due to COVID - from April 2020 to Sept 2021) wedding day, the Barns of Kanak team was exceptional. My husband and I live in Chicago and were looking to get married in VA, we actually booked the venue after a FaceTime tour and were so excited to see it in person a few weeks later and were SO happy with our choice. Truly this family and their full team go above and beyond to make you feel so special throughout the process. We worked with Kylie primarily and she was absolutely AMAZING. We also were able to work with Abby as an intern and no surprise she is now full-time on the team! It was such a relief that the barns had a decor barn and catalog of things we could use on our special day - arches, signs, chargers and so many more perfect details. The best part of the whole experience, aside from the perfect wedding day, was having the 60-day out and day-of coordination. The coordination was SO unique compared to other venues we looked at and was so so so helpful. I honestly could not recommend this venue more. It’s beautiful, so well maintained and they really put their heart and soul into this place and it shows. The packages are beyond reasonable for everything you get when you choose the barns, Diane, Kylie, Abby and Tom, THANK YOU for being a part of our perfect wedding day and making us feel like family in the process.

There might not be enough room to say all the amazing things I have to say after my wedding at The Barns of Kanak. The team made every single vision I had for my wedding come to life. The venue has EVERYTHING. We had our hair + makeup teams come to the venue and the morning getting ready was the most relaxing and fun experience I could have ever asked for. While the girls got ready, the guys and our families hung out, played games, and relaxed by the pool. Our wedding coordinator Delaney is an absolutely rockstar and was helpful from the start with coordinating meetings and contacting all of our vendors to make sure the day went by without a single hiccup. The entire team from Delaney, to Kylie, to Tom & Diane, and our bartenders were incredible- so fun, so helpful, and the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I don’t think I could have asked for a more perfect day, the only thing I wish is that we could do everything over again! Thank you all for making our wedding the most incredible day of our lives!

Yes, parking is available with the help of our staff to greet and direct you.

Although we do not provide on-site catering, we have catering partners that know the venue like it's their own and will provide a smooth experience for you.

Yes! We have handicap-accessible, spacious restrooms that can be accessed from inside and outside of the Reception Barn. Each restroom has plenty of stalls for large weddings.

The Reception Barn, restrooms, courtyard, and ceremony sites are all handicap accessible.

We do allow you to hang decor from the walls and beams in the Reception Barn; however, we need to approve your process beforehand. We do not allow nails or anything that could damage the wood.

Kanak is pronounced like the words "kay" and "knack," with an accent on the "kay."

We have a wireless mic that can be attached to your officiant's shirt or lapel. This mic can connect to our speakers in both the outdoor and indoor ceremony spaces, and will pick up the bride and groom's voices as well. Any other necessary microphones would typically be provided by your DJ.

We ask that your DJ use his or her own speakers for reception music. We go over all of this with them in detail before the wedding day.

There are! The Barns of Kanak is a venue near Richmond, VA, and we have a list of hotels within 15 minutes as well as some Richmond favorites that we can provide.
