I’m Nae, the heart and hands behind The Brown Sugar Experience. I plan weddings with soul, intention, and deep care, creating moments where love can breathe and be fully seen. My work is rooted in culture, connection, and crafting a day that feels like home from the first look to the final goodbye. I’m based in Austin and happily travel wherever love calls me. Weddings within sixty miles follow standard rates; outside that range, travel fees apply. Out of state weddings may require flights, but the heart I bring travels well.

The Brown Sugar Experience is Black owned, woman led, and guided by the belief that love deserves to be honored with tenderness and intention. I don’t just coordinate - I care for your story. Nae and the BSE team brought our vision for our big day to reality! We hired the Brown Sugar Experience for day-of coordination with a custom plan to help navigate us through our self-doubt and inexperience with hosting a huge gathering. Meeting Nae for the first time was like seeing an old friend that you can always count on to fall right back into step with you no matter how much time has passed. Nae is such a calming and easy-going presence and she never once broke a sweat coordinating our day. She listened and understood everything I wanted. As hard as it was for me to not hang around all day and set up for my own wedding, I knew we were in good hands with Nae and she absolutely exceeded expectations. By the time we arrived at our reception, everything was done for us and beautiful. It's not even a question if I would book the Brown Sugar Experience again, I 100% would!

Amazing experience
Hiring The Brown Sugar Experience was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, they were organized, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our vision come to life. Absolutely! The Brown Sugar Experience plans all kinds of celebrations—baby showers, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, and more. Whether it’s a wedding weekend event or a special moment all on its own, I bring the same love and attention to every detail.

Right now, The Brown Sugar Experience is led by me, Nae—but I bring in trusted assistants and partners when needed, based on your event’s size and vision. You'll always have direct communication with me, and I make sure anyone on-site reflects the same care, professionalism, and vibe I bring to every celebration.

It depends on the package you choose! Full-service clients can expect regular check-ins throughout the planning process, while day-of clients typically meet with me 1–2 times before the big day. No matter the level, I make sure our time together feels focused, supportive, and never overwhelming.

Nope! I only take on one wedding per day and limit bookings per weekend to make sure each couple gets my full attention. Your day deserves focus, care, and presence—and I don’t believe in stretching myself thin when love is on the line.
