Over the past 10 years, I have enjoyed helping friends & family plan many events. It was after planning my own wedding, that I realized I wanted to continue helping others create unforgettable events too! Outside of working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our pets and my bonus daughter! I also enjoy baking, traveling, gaming, and gardening.

I have the skills & ability to help keep things organized & running smoothly before, during & after any event. I work on all types of events, from start to finish. I have worked with weddings that have a guest count of 50 or 500. I have a professional Wedding Planner certification from IAP Career College. Please check out some of my previous work!

    We were excited to have a month-of coordinator to help ensure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day. While we appreciated having additional support, there were a few areas where communication and organization could have been a little stronger! In the week leading up to the wedding, I didn’t hear from my coordinator to confirm final details, which made me a little nervous as the day approached. In the buzz of running last minute errands, i remembered i hadnt heard from her and ended up reaching out the day of the rehearsal dinner to confirm we were good to go. I think going forward, a quick check-in that week would be helpful just to provide some reassurance and clarity going into such a big weekend! On the wedding day, when she arrived she didn’t check in with me to let me know she was there or quickly run through the timeline together. It wasn’t a huge issue, but just with how id expressed many times i wanna make sure everything goes right, i think it would have been nice to have that brief moment to confirm everything was set and see if anything was needed before the day got started, especially because a few hiccups ended up happening. During the reception setup, I noticed while walking by during photos that a few items that were supposed to be on the tables hadn’t been placed yet, so my mom ended up stepping in to help make sure everything was finished. Additionally, my maid of honor had to ask for our sweetheart table to be cleared before speeches so there wouldn’t be plates visible in photos. Throughout the evening there were also a few moments where I was asked questions about vendor details or plans that we had already discussed in earlier meetings and emails. Since those details had been shared ahead of time, I had hoped some of those things would already be handled so I could stay focused on enjoying the day. My coordinator also brought her stepdaughter as an additional helper, which I had paid a small fee for which wasnt an issue. I didn’t interact with her much during the event, but there were a few moments where the communication between them felt a little tense. Having helpers is great, but a bit more professionalism in those interactions would have helped everything feel a little smoother. In our meetings leading up to the wedding, there were also a few instances where I was asked again for information I had already sent previously. While planning a wedding involves a lot of details, staying organized with client information is really important for helping couples feel confident everything is being tracked. Overall, it was still such a beautiful night and a lot of fun, I just think with stronger communication leading up to the event and a bit more attention to detail on the day-of logistics, this service could provide a much smoother experience for couples!

    Thank you for the feedback Hailey, I appreciate the candor! I apologize that your experience was less than 5 stars and will work to continue improving my business processes. Regarding communication leading up to wedding day, I reached out via text 10 days and 6 days prior, but didn't hear back. It is good feedback going forward that if I don't receive responses via text, I should follow up with a phone call. Upon arriving, I was pulled aside by a few vendors immediately to resolve some issues, but will note going forward to always check in with my brides first! The flip from ceremony to reception was a whirlwind. Photos were being taken where the flip occurred which caused some delays, and decor was spread out across the venue so some things were missed, which I apologize for. In hindsight, your flip required a team of 4 or 5, not 2 but that is a learning experience for myself and my business. When it comes to bussing tables, that is outside the scope of my contracted services and falls to catering or wait staff. In one of our early planning meetings, I stessed the need for wait staff based on your timeline and guest count, and was told they would be hired through the venue. Unfortunately, there did seem to be a shortage of wait staff and they were only hired for 2 hours, which was not enough coverage. Thank you again for the feedback, it helps my business learn and grow!

    Marissa at Lavender & Rye Events is nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, her communication was impeccable - clear, timely, and reassuring every step of the way. No matter what stage of the planning process we were in, she made sure we knew exactly what needed to be done and when, which made everything feel manageable and even enjoyable. What truly sets Marissa apart is the experience she creates on the wedding day itself. She told us ahead of time that all we would need to do was wake up and say “I do” - and she delivered on that promise. Having been married before, I remember my first wedding being a blur. This time was entirely different. Marissa took care of everything. Because of her, we were able to be fully present - actually enjoying the evening, our guests, and most importantly, each other. The night felt calm, joyful, and seamless, and that is 100% because of her expertise and care. If you are even thinking about hiring a wedding planner, stop searching and hire Marissa. I would recommend her 1000% without hesitation. She is professional, kind, organized, and an absolute master at what she does. Our wedding day was perfect because of her, and we will be forever grateful.

    “All you need to do on your wedding day is show up and say ‘I do.’” That was Marissa’s promise, and she truly delivered! From our initial consultation through months of planning and coordination, Marissa was a steady, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive presence. She knows exactly what questions to ask, when to ask them, and how to guide couples through the process in a way that feels organized rather than overwhelming. Having been married before, I knew firsthand how stressful wedding planning can be; we ultimately eloped the first time because of the anxiety. This time around, we were very intentional about getting help early, and hiring Marissa was one of the best decisions we made. There are countless details to manage, decisions to make, and vendors to coordinate, and Marissa handled all of it with calm confidence. On our wedding day, she oversaw every last detail flawlessly...right down to helping us load leftover wedding cake into the car. Because of her, the day ran smoothly from start to finish, and we were truly able to be present and enjoy the moment. We are endlessly grateful for Marissa’s expertise, dedication, and care. She made our wedding day not only possible, but joyful and stress-free. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

    I would 1,000% recommend Marissa as a wedding coordinator. She was so incredibly helpful and made my wedding day so easy & stress free. From setting up all of my candles (80) at the ceremony with only an hour to do so, to ensuring my reception space was set up correctly, to putting out multiple fires.. she did it all! I definitely recommend booking with her. Thank you for everything!

    MARISSA WAS THE BEST WEDDING COORDINATOR!!! My husband and I can't stress enough how valuable she was to us on our wedding day and leading up to it. She was always on top of everything and vey well organized. She always responded to us quickly and provided helpful insight on wedding day logistics to help our day run smoother. Day of, she was calm, cool, and collected. She took care of everything she said that she was going to do and more. She put out small fires that I never knew happened. She brought my vision for my wedding to life and kept us on schedule. She even helped me with last minute requests I had and took care of things without anyone having to ask. Her efficiency, expertise, and stress relief that she provided was priceless. I HIGHLY recommend her as a wedding day coordinator and would hire her again in a heartbeat!!
