About McShea Photography
David McShea
My love of photography started when I realized the happiness photographs can bring to other people, even strangers. To have the ability to capture a moment and the opportunity to catch emotions all with a single click is empowering. Whether its an intimate moment at a wedding, a subtle reaction of a newborn, or just taking life's details and turning them into art, all facets of photography appeal to me.
There are plenty of wedding photographers that have amazing artistic abilities out there but having someone professional and efficient with the minimal amount of time is crucial for your wedding day to be successful. We will have plenty of communication prior to the wedding day so that we are completely on the same page with our timelines and priorities. I have plenty of experience to know how to execute everything in a fun and laid back way and will work to make sure we cover everything that you are hoping for.

Artistic, Passionate and Personal.
Before our wedding, I asked my brother-in-law and sister what they thought we should splurge on. Without hesitation, they both said: photography. They had made the mistake of not prioritizing their photographer—of not finding someone they truly trusted—and they regretted it. When you’re spending so much on a wedding, a good photographer essentially protects your investment. So we made it our mission to find someone we felt confident in—someone fairly priced, artistic, and capable of capturing both candid moments and beautifully composed shots. David is all of that and more. We were getting married out of state and couldn’t even meet him in person beforehand. We had to trust him based solely on a Zoom call—and from that first conversation, we just knew he was the guy. He exudes passion, authenticity, calm, and professionalism. My wife was anxious on our wedding day, and David became a source of comfort, reassurance, and steadiness. He’s everything you want in a photographer. What’s brilliant about David’s work is that every shot feels distinct. He has an incredible eye for composition, capturing surreal, artistic moments with real depth and warmth. His photos allow us to relive the day—especially the moments we didn’t get to fully experience in the chaos. It’s honestly hard to believe how consistent he is. With most professional photographers, you sift through a huge album to find your favorites. With David, every photo is captivating. I also have to mention his patience—especially when we spontaneously asked him to do an offsite photoshoot the night of the wedding… on the beach… in the rain. He didn’t hesitate. That shoot ended up being one of our absolute favorite memories. Not only did we get magazine-worthy photos, but David’s presence helped us come down from the buzz of the day. We laughed, had fun, and genuinely enjoyed the moment—and it shows in the pictures. David’s passion is contagious. He genuinely cares about his art and about giving his clients the best experience possible. Weddings can become routine for vendors, but David made us feel like our day mattered to him too. We truly plan to keep in touch—for anniversaries, milestones, and beyond.
Response from vendor•Aug 12, 2025Thanks for all of that Aaron. For a lot of wedding days, couples are mostly on their own when it comes to the moments prior to arriving at the venue. Whenever there isnt a planner in the mix (highly recommended for all weddings big and small) your photographer will be the only one with you to guide you through. I consider a nice chunk of my responsibilities during the wedding day to be a guide. That might involve helping tell people where they need to be and to keep things in line and make sure timelines are being stuck to. Being someone to reassure you that the day is going well or if we need to speed up the process. I feel like most of the time, couples are worried that they are late or that they might have forgotten about a key piece of the day. I'll be there to keep things in tact and push things along when things are running late. That is why we have our planning process heading up to the wedding day. I make sure everyone knows what the game plan is so that once the day is moving, I can be confident to push the day forward exactly to the couples vision.Beautiful photos
David was incredibly timely, informative, and responsive throughout the entire process. He took the time to understand our unique needs and tailored their photography packages accordingly, ensuring we got the perfect set of photos to capture our special day. David walked us through all the typical must-have shots, like our first look and portraits with our sons, and the results are wonderful. We really appreciated David's kindness and professionalism, which helped us feel comfortable and able to express our true feelings in the photos we received. McShea Photography was the perfect choice for our smaller wedding, and we are thrilled with the beautiful, high-quality images that will allow us to relive our wedding day for years to come.
Response from vendor•Aug 12, 2025Being professional and keeping attention to the details is a key for me. We figure out all of the details and game plan for the wedding day beforehand with our planning meetings to make sure that I'm on the same page as the couple. Shot lists, timelines, must haves, etc....they are just as important as taking the photos themselves. Whether its a small or large wedding I'll make sure we're matched up on the visions for the day and make sure any questions are asked before the wedding. I hate asking couples questions on the wedding day 😊Amazing photographer
Dave was recommended to me by a friend just on her engagement shoot alone and she couldn't be more right. He was so easy to work with. He has great communication skills and was always available if we needed anything. He made my husband and I feel so comfortable during out engagement shoot and throughout our wedding. The pictures came out amazing. I don't plan on getting married a second time, but if I did, I would definitely use Dave again. We also want to give a shout out to Amanda who helped on our wedding day, she was great.
Response from vendor•Aug 12, 2025Needing to get the couples comfortable is a key responsibility for your photographer so making sure you are at ease around me as well as having comfort that everything is figured out and taken care of beforehand is one of the most important things I provide at every wedding I do. Avoiding any delays, mistakes, miscommunications just makes the day so much more enjoyable and happy and comforted couples make for much better photos in the end. All the planning that we will walk through together, before the wedding day, will help make that happen. Even if candids are the priority for the couple, I'll make sure that I will know everything I need to know beforehand, to capture the candids that are important to you.The best of the best!
Dave is the best! He made me and my husband feel so comfortable! Dave and his team are experienced professionals who go above and beyond! We had a 200 person wedding and he captured our special day perfectly!
Response from vendor•Aug 12, 2025When you have a 5 alarm dance floor you will be comforted to know that we will be all over the dance floor to capture all those wild moments with your guests. If candids of guests after dinner, enjoying themselves, is a higher priority, I have ways to give extra attention to that between added coverage time for the reception or keeping the priorities in line to avoid any distractions. If there are too many priorities for your reception or the wedding day in general, I will be honest with you and warn about any overload that could distract you from enjoying the day. I'll keep timelines conservative to try to save some breathing room but if its tight, I'll make sure we are all aware of the importance of keeping things moving during certain portions of the day.
