We're Alan & Heidi, the husband-and-wife team behind Love Story Photography, who've had the honor of documenting love stories throughout San Diego for over 12 years. What started as a shared passion project has grown into something we never imagined – a thriving business built on genuine relationships, authentic storytelling, and the belief that every couple deserves beautiful wedding photography, regardless of their budget.
Having photographed over 400+ weddings, we've learned that the most treasured images aren't the perfectly posed ones – they're the authentic moments of laughter, happy tears, and connection that happen naturally throughout your day. Our style celebrates these genuine emotions while capturing the stunning background that is Southern California. We believe in letting your story unfold organically. Amazing!
My husband and I had a fantastic experience working with Alan from Love Story Photography for our Safari Park wedding! Soon after sending off our inquiry, we heard from Alan right away who scheduled a FaceTime call with us. Little did we know, he had his lovely wife, Heidi, join the call as well. We immediately felt their warmth and love, and were eager to book them as our wedding photographer and ceremony officiant! We had a great experience working with Alan prior to the wedding, as he was always so kind in answering any logistical and timeline questions we had. Having Alan and Heidi so in tune with each other really helped move the planning process along very well. They are true wedding experts and their guidance was instrumental to us! The morning of my wedding, I was a ball of nerves, I was late to my first look, and to top it all off, as soon as I got my wedding gown on, my maid of honor discovered there was a huge black spider on it, which freaked me out even more! But, before I even had a chance to lay eyes on the creepy spider, Alan was down on the floor, cupping it in his hands and eliminating it from the room. I think that was the moment I finally began to relax and let it sink in that I was in the best hands possible with Alan. I can't say enough great things about his talent and tact. He was organized and had many deadlines to meet to follow our timeline, but was still always kind and amicable to everyone who crossed his path. He delivered beautiful photos that had meaning to us, which had exactly the elements we wanted in terms of details, animals, and family and friend shots. I love the vibrancy and timelessness of the photos he produced. I can't recommend Alan and Heidi enough. You won't regret working with these two awesome and kind people. They are wonderful wedding vendors, and even greater humans!

We could not have been more thrilled with the value, service and product provided by Love Story Photography. Alan felt like a close friend before we ever met and his artistic eye delivered photos beyond our wildest dreams. With all the work and detail that went into our special day I am so happy we used Love Story Photography to capture and re-live the special moments and memories. The finished products are incredible and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone- I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Don’t sleep on this amazing photographer- book it!

Alan was absolutely incredible as our wedding photographer! From the moment we met him, we felt instantly comfortable and confident in his hands. He has an amazing eye for capturing beautiful moments, and his guidance throughout the day was invaluable. Alan helped us with everything from hand placements and angles to making sure we looked and felt our best. He was so patient and understanding, and he truly captured the essence of our special day. We are in love with our wedding photos and would highly recommend Alan to anyone looking for a talented and professional photographer!

Alan of Love Story Photography is easily the best photographer I’ve worked with! I am an amateur model and I have never had a photographer work so well to capture the essence of what I wanted before! He really listens and does his best to make your pictures exactly what you thought of in your head. He was so kind and so understanding and just fun to work with! Highly recommend Love Story Photography for honestly any of your needs! He is multitalented.
