About Diana Ascarrunz Photography

Diana Ascarrunz Photography

Owner and Lead Photographer

My name is Diana and I'm a photographer based out of Austin, Texas. I'm originally from Atlanta but I live in Austin, Texas with my favorite human Mark, my little sweet baby Tom, and my dog Moonpie. If you're looking for an open, easy, and stress-free experience, get in touch.

I care about diversity, supporting all relationships, meeting people from different backgrounds who are making the world more awesome for everyone, and planning trips to far away places. My family is from Bolivia, which puts me in the first generation club and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I love taking photos of kind people and the amazing things they do.

As colorful as we dreamed it

Diana shot our friend’s wedding in 2018, so we decided to reach out to her for ours in 2025. We absolutely loved working with her. We were immediately drawn to the color and vibrancy of her photography, and after seeing our friend's photos, we knew we wanted to work with her. My husband and I are not naturals in front of a camera, so one of the best things about our package was having an engagement session. It gave us a chance to get to know Diana, get comfortable with her, and honestly just practice being photographed. Diana was incredibly generous in working with us to do the shoot at two different locations in Austin. We loved the photos and really enjoyed getting to know her. Diana photographed our welcome dinner on the Friday before the wedding, and she captured the night so well. There was a lot of sweaty, chaotic country fun on the dance floor, along with some sweet and emotional moments during our friends' speeches. She managed to capture all of it, which made those photos such a great record of the night. On the wedding day, Diana kept us on time and at ease during the hours leading up to the ceremony. She was always finding great setups and beautiful shots without making us feel like we were spending the whole day taking pictures. One of the more unusual things we planned for the day was a receiving line immediately following the ceremony where every guest would take a photo with us. We wanted it to be a way to greet everyone while also making sure we got a photo with every person at the wedding. There were plenty of logistical challenges to making this work outdoors, including a backdrop and integrating the florals, and Diana helped us figure out how to make it all work. The photos turned out amazing and are some of our favorites from the entire weekend. When we got the full collection of photos, we were completely blown away. Diana turned them around incredibly quickly, which made getting to relive the weekend through the photos that much more fun. Our guests look amazing, and even more than a year later, we are still finding new little moments in the photos. The color and vibrancy are exactly what drew us to Diana's work in the first place, but what we love most is how much emotion comes through. Looking at the photos brings us right back to how the weekend actually felt. We've had multiple friends tell us they are jealous that their wedding photos didn't turn out like ours, which is probably the highest compliment we could give Diana. She made the whole process easy and fun, helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and gave us photos that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We couldn't recommend her more highly. Diana is the best!

Diana photographed our wedding and we're obsessed with how our gallery came out! Diana was great to work with from the start and really took the time to get know our story and understand our priorities for the day. The work she did on the back end made the day of feel effortless but when I looked back through our library the details that I was the most excited about were all there. We were really impressed with how Diana and her assistant operated on the day of the wedding. Posing for photos doesn't come naturally to us and she did a great job giving us direction while still letting steer how much time we wanted to spend capturing posed photos vs. just enjoying the day. Diana and her assistant got a great balance of posed and candid shots. It really feels like they captured so many of the small moments from the day like my family playing cards while they waited for the ceremony to start and my mom spontaneously hugging two of her of friends in attendance who were her bridesmaids. We found Diana because we were looking for a photographer with experience capturing less traditional queer couples' weddings. It felt like she immediately got it and we felt super comfortable working with her. Delivery was also super smooth. We got a mixture of digital and film photos and I was super happy we did. The film photos have a really special quality to them. We also got a Super 8 film which was over 5 minutes long and really gives us something to look back on. The website used to deliver photos was really easy to use and share. You can even pull up all the photos of a specific person which is super handy. We got a first look early on and our full gallery arrived within the timeline Diana outlined (it was definitely worth the wait!). Overall it felt like Diana did an incredible job of capturing our day. She was incredibly professional throughout the process and delivered beautiful photos. I would highly recommend her!

    Couldn't recommend Diana more highly!

We absolutely loved working with Diana! From our first conversation about what we were hoping for to the detailed form she had us fill out to her friendly and subtle presence day-of, to the final photos (there were so many great ones!), we were overjoyed that we had such a great photographer working with us. Couldn't recommend her more highly!

    Diana is the best!

Wish I could give Diana 6 stars! Diana photographed our wedding and we were blown away by how professional yet personal the whole experience was from our first phone call to the delivery of the images. Our wedding was outdoors during a cold snap and she made sure we were comfortable the whole time. Her attention to the tiniest details and her eye for the perfect shot is incredible. We have so many amazing candid photos and we really had no idea she was quietly taking photos while we enjoyed our night. She sent sneak peek photos to us a few days after the wedding during Thanksgiving week, and our full album right before Christmas. We were so impressed and thankful for the timing of the delivery of the images especially during the holidays. Diana works so hard and delivers awesome work. We would absolutely recommend Diana!

Typically, couples book me at least 12 months - 2 years before their wedding date. There's a big range and it all just depends on your date and the season. Reach out when you've started thinking about potential dates.
I'll send sneak peeks within a week and deliver your full gallery within 6-8 weeks.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
I do love to have an assistant with me but I aim to shoot weddings as if I'm shooting them alone. That way you get my best and everything are a sweet bonus.
