I’m a wedding photographer with a BA in Photography from Columbia College, drawn to love stories and good light. Weddings give me a front-row seat to one of the most meaningful days in your life, from quiet, emotional moments to full-on celebration. I focus on what’s real and natural so your photos actually look like you. I photograph couples of all backgrounds, faiths, identities, and orientations. I love weddings of all sizes, from two-person City Hall elopements to intimate dinners or packed venues with everyone you love. Each one has its own energy, and I approach them all with the same care and attention.

What sets me apart is how I balance being present and invisible. I’m great at capturing candid moments you don’t even notice happening, while also stepping in when needed to guide you into natural, comfortable positions for portraits. You get the best of both worlds: real, unposed memories and photos where you still feel like yourself. I also have extensive experience working with queer couples and the queer community, which has shaped how I approach every wedding with care, ease, and respect.

    Picture Perfect

    From our first conversation with Alexis, we knew she was the right fit for our wedding day. She kept things light and fun while staying on top of every detail, which made planning feel effortless. On the day of, Alexis was a natural at directing us and our guests to create stunning shots, but more than that, she captured our story in a way we never could have imagined on our own. Her photos are incredible and the value we got was unbeatable. Every moment that mattered to us is there in the photos—she didn't miss a thing.     Professional and creative photography

    Alexis was the photographer for my wedding in 2019 and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with her. Based on her performance from beginning to end as an experienced photographer, I can only imagine how much more proficient she’s become in her craft since then. She was not only completely professional and reliable, but the artistry in her work captured the spirit (and spirited it was!) of my wedding perfectly. I was not a traditional bride in the sense that I wanted several variations of posed photographs with family, friends, or a wedding party (because I didn’t really have one). I wanted every captured moment to be real. She (thankfully) talked me into a few, and still managed to make them feel candid. She really understood our wild and free personalities, and that reflects in the photographs she took. She hired another photographer to help, and together they were with us from beginning to end. What we got were not just some pictures, they were photographs that told the whole story. She even gave me a folder of funny faces outtakes from all of our guests, which I found absolutely hilarious! No other photographer has ever taken pictures of my family, just Alexis, and that’s how it will always be.

    Minneapolis Courthouse Elopement

    Alexis Ellers Photography captured our courthouse elopement exactly as we hoped it would be. From our first conversation, she was quick to respond, transparent about what to expect, and thoughtful about our vision. She didn't push us into awkward poses or force a kiss for the camera, she let our day unfold naturally and even made sure to include our dog in the shots. Her artistic eye picked up on all the details that mattered to us, and the final photos feel so tailored to who we are. Our day could not have been captured more perfectly. We'd absolutely recommend Alexis to any couple looking for a photographer who truly listens and delivers. 10/10 would hire again.
