I am Rabbi Nikki DeBlosi (she/her) (BA, MA, PhD). It is my passion and privilege to connect folks to the breadth and depth of Jewish tradition through inclusive, innovative, and insightful Jewish ritual. A tattooed, polyamorous, queer, suburban, stay-at-home parent, I was raised Catholic and converted to Judaism as an adult. I approach my work nonjudgmentally, and I know too many of us carry religious trauma. I want to make sure your wedding feels meaningful, relevant, and affirming. I'm an avid reader (especially romance), a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, & a choral singer.

With an academic background in queer theory and personal experience as an "outsider" in many ways, I bring a sense of welcome and belonging that so-called traditional rabbis don't. My approach to ritual is innovative, intelligent, traditionally-grounded, pastorally-attuned, and aimed at facilitating a ceremony that feels relevant and meaningful to you and to your attendees.

    Best rabbi ever!!

    We had the privilege of working with Rabbi Nikki for our interfaith wedding ceremony, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Nikki was organized and thoughtful about helping us structure a ceremony that felt true to both of our backgrounds while remaining accessible to all our guests. What really stood out was how she brought calm to the chaos leading up to the big day—she had prepared for every possible scenario so we felt completely covered no matter what happened. Nikki has a commanding presence and a beautiful voice that kept everyone engaged throughout the ceremony, and she made Judaism come alive for our non-Jewish family members in such a meaningful way that several of them said they only want to attend Jewish weddings from now on.     Rabbi Nikki was incredibly thoughtful and helpful as we planned our mixed faith wedding and figured out how to weave in Jewish traditions that felt right for us. She listened to what we wanted and worked with us to make the ceremony personal and meaningful. During the ceremony, her beautiful voice filled the space as she sang some of the most moving moments. Rabbi Nikki was flexible with our vision while bringing her expertise and passion to every detail. We felt so supported throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. While I do not attend rehearsals, I am detail-oriented and very communicative with you and your day-of coordinator or wedding party members as needed.
We will meet a minimum of three times via Zoom for 90 minutes each so that I can get to know you as individuals and as a couple. We we do a little bit of informal (and in English!) learning about Jewish and secular views on marriage, so that I can understand what marriage means to you. Finally, I am a trained Prepare & Enrich facilitator; we can use this assessment tool to get a picture of some of the strength and growth areas of your relationship. If there are issues you want to work through before your wedding, I take a spiritual counseling based approach, and we can add meetings to customize for your needs.
For sure! As long as you are either already legally married to one another or will be legally married on the day of the ceremony I officiate, I will do your wedding. Queer couples, COVID couples, international couples, and lots of other folks often take care of the legal marriage before being ready to craft and celebrate something spiritual and emotional and communal. I am happy to work with you to ensure that no ceremony feels perfuctory or fake.
If you've ever been to more than one Passover seder, you already know that Jewish rituals incorporate both form and flexibility. My approach guarantees that your ceremony will feel personal, relevant, and timeless, connecting you and your community to a sense of emotional rootedness and gravitas.
Since my ordination in 2013, I have performed dozens of weddings and other lifecycle rituals; each ceremony is both rooted in Jewish tradition and adapted to each unique occasion. Please also visit the testimonials section of my website to read and hear more.
I am a trained choral singer, and use that training to bring beauty and transcendence to the chanting of Hebrew blessings. I can also provide some vocal embellishment for your processional or during moments you otherwise do not want to be silent.
