I am the creative brain behind ‘Henna by Tanvi’ with more than 8 years of experience What started off as a hobby 10 years ago has now turned into a full time commitment with experience spanning traditional and modern henna styles which includes Indian, Arabic, Floral and one of a kind body art. I specialize in bridal henna while also providing henna services for various occasions and events. I make my own henna paste using natural ingredients which help creates unique designs with clean lines and ensuring the best color for the client. My goal is to provide excellent client experience with creative detailed designs.

I work personally with the bride to create a unique bridal henna design for the special day. My design includes client special touches telling a story about the bride and groom and what they are passionate about. I offer free consultation in a private setting and a trial to assure the best henna stain.

Henna is a plant that grows in many countries, mostly in semi-arid and tropical areas of India, Pakistan, Morocco, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Africa. Henna (also known as mehendi) is produced from the leaves of the “henna plant” (Lawsoina Inermis). The leaves contain a red dye called ‘Lawsone’, which essentially leaves the radiant red stain on the skin
Once the henna leaves are obtained they are crushed into fine powder, which is sifted, and then mixed with a variety of ingredients such as essential oils, lemon, sugar and water to create a smooth paste which is then left for 10-12 hours for the dye to get released. This paste is then poured into a henna cone which allows the artist to create fine, precise lines.
Natural henna is a beautiful, painless form of body art full of rich tradition in various cultures. Henna paste is filled into henna cones with fine tip and then applied on the skin.
Henna is traditionally applied on the hands and feet of women (and men in some communities). Women in some countries apply on the belly during baby shower as belly blessing.
A good aftercare is required to achieve a beautiful stain. It is highly recommended to keep the skin dry and away from water for 6-8 hours after the application process for optimal stain. Natural henna takes 24-48 hours for stain to mature which will appear in shades of reddish-brown, varying from deep/dark red to a dark mahogany-brown – this is when the color is at it’s peak.
Henna stain can last upto 2 weeks depending on the intensity of the stain, the aftercare followed and on which part of the body it is applied.
The time required for an event depends on the intricacy/size of the design requested and the number of guests requesting henna. A standard, simple design extending from the wrist up one finger can take upto 5 minutes while more fuller/intricate designs can take more time. A typical bridal henna on hands and feet can take anywhere from 3-6 hours.
Bridal henna should be scheduled 2-3 days before the wedding for optimum stain
Henna should be applied before getting body spray.

    Tanvi did an amazing job on my bridal Mehndi! The stain came out beautiful, and the skyline designs were a huge hit. She was professional, easy to communicate with, and so friendly. Highly recommend!

    Tanvi was very professional and is truly a skilled artist when it comes to her henna designs. Her work is very clean and she is able to copy designs exactly as pictured. She is exceptionally talented and was a pleasure to work with. She gave me my dream bridal henna and I cannot recommend her enough!

    Tanvi's style aligns perfectly with the personality and handshape of her clients! Tanvi's work was incredible, I've never seen henna so beautiful in my life. Tanvi was so chill at our event, she accommodated all our family and the chaos all around her! I knew nothing about having henna done, and she was so helpful and kind.     BEAUTIFUL HENNA!

    Working with Tanvi was an amazing experience, I cannot recommend her enough for your henna needs! We had a multicultural fusion wedding, so I did not really know what to expect throughout the henna process but Tanvi made the whole process simple and easy, great communication, and delivered AMAZING work. Even on our honeymoon, people could not stop complimenting the beautiful designs.

    Incredibly Talented!

    Tanvi did my mehndi for my wedding and she did an amazing job! Her designs are detailed, intricate, and beautiful. She takes the time to understand the design elements that are important to you, does her best to include them however she can, and gives great suggestions and recommendations. You can tell she wants your mehndi design to feel personal and special! Aside from her incredible talent, she is also extremely personable and so easy to talk to, making the process feel natural and comfortable. I would highly recommend Tanvi to others!
