We are your warm and experienced guides. Jester of the Peace was originally the award-winning wedding officiating business of Rev. Barbara Ann Michaels. Over 10 years and 560+ weddings, she won many wedding industry awards. After pausing through the pandemic years, she has now leaned into her career as an experience designer and opened HumorVille as the only immersive art wedding chapel in New York City, where love and fun are one, with her team.

Your self-expression and being known and understood is our way of celebrating you two. We focus on your words and style to both share your journey so far and have your wedding embody your vision for your future in your marriage. The HumorVille experience contains both joyful spontaneity and a deep honoring of what you already know and feel about each other and your union. Plus, your guests love to hear you two speak aloud!     I figure if you are here reading this, you are busy with a thousand things, planning your wedding. Certainly one of the most important decisions will be to choose the person who will be your officiant--who will perform your ceremony? My wife and I had the honor and pleasure of working with Barbara Ann Michaels (Jester of the Peace) this year. We were married in July and decided upon Barbara after looking at many other options. A friend recommended her services. And WOW! I am so glad we had Barbara! I could list so many accolades: But most important to me was that she immediately bonded with us. We met once in person and then we regularly did our planning via Zoom. She helped us design a wedding ceremony that fit our personalities and style. She supported us through the whole process, being available for questions and tweaks to the planned service. It was to be OUR wedding! The wedding day itself was fabulous! Even before the service, she was there for us, with calming presence. The service itself, by design, allowed for some surprises and lots of spontaneity. We told our love story through a unique interview style. It was filled with joy and laughter along with the desired quiet solemn moments. My wife and I love that we had Barbara as our wedding officiant. She is totally professional and will meet all your wedding service needs! Choose her!
