For those who want extensions for their wedding but never plan to where them again ( so purchasing wouldn't make sense). Instead, you can rent them! And we can provide that service for you.

Description

It's a great idea to have a trial to test out your look & collaboratively with your artist make adjustments for the wedding day. Your trial can be before or after booking. Each trial service is $200.

While we always encourage a trial when possible if it’s not that’s ok. Instead, we will exchange oodles of emails & conduct a video call during which time we will meticulously go through all the same things we’d go through during a physical trial. In these cases, we also add time to your day of styling to have more consultation time as well as time for adjustments.
You bet! We travel as far as our passports will take us. We actually have loads of experience traveling for styling as well as fun. We create custom packages for exactly your needs & wants no matter where we’re going.
50 miles round trip from our home base is included, then we charge $.56 per mile. Anything over 150 miles or 1.5 hours in one direction requires lodging, anything over 8 hours driving requires a flight & rental car. In cases where it’s more cost-effective to have a flight & rental car instead of mileage we're fine with that option.
Anything over 150 miles in 1 direction is a “destination” event & requires 1-2 nights lodging + mileage. Over 200 miles but less than 8 hours drive requires 2 nights lodging + mileage. If a flight, we require a 3-night lodging minimum + a rental car. A $50 per day per diem for food is also required unless vegan food is provided.
We believe that beauty begins with kindness. So all the products we use are 100% vegan & cruelty free because we want a kinder, gentler, happier world free of suffering for ALL. Don’t worry, we're not mixing up concoctions in the kitchen or picking up items from an organic grocery store. They are all premium professional products.

As soon as you know we’re besties & fall in love with my work. But seriously, we tell brides in general once you find your person in any field book them! Things in the DMV area move fast so you don’t want to miss out. Typically people book 6 months out but some earlier & sometimes I have openings later. Just reach out as soon as your interested!
To secure your date a contract is created which you finish & sign. Then you pay a 30% retainer via square or Venmo . Once both items are in your date is secure. Your date is not secure until both of those items are completed & we can only hold your date for 5 day after our scheduled trial, (if you choose a trial first). Remaining balance isn’t due until 2 weeks prior to the event.
We have worked extensively with all curl patterns and are Ouidad certified. Time after time we’ve heard styling horror stories from curly girls & their styling experiences with other artists. We would never suppress your curls but instead, encourage them to thrive with tailored products & techniques. And yes, we can lay edges.
Yes, we are experienced with all the above listed. We'll either put the veil on or demonstrate to multiple people before we leave. While we are experienced with a wide range of different hair accessories & cultural origins, surely there are always new ones out there that we’d be eager to learn about.
Ideally a trial should be scheduled for 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding. We will reach out about 3-4 months prior to your wedding to secure the date. If you have a more complicated schedule please let us know and we can always schedule your trial further out to accomodate.
At the end of my services we will do touch ups & leave a standard touch up kit. If you’d like us to stay around throughout the day/evening with our concierge services for a fee of $75 per hour.
Yes! We offer extensions for sale ( $335) and for rent ( $235). They are high quality Remi hair that will last you a lifetime. We can assist as much or as little as you would like from just advice to color matching and acquiring them for you.

    Most beautiful version of myself

    I cannot recommend Ashley highly enough. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I truly felt like the most beautiful version of myself. From the very beginning, Ashley was kind, calming, and incredibly professional. She listened carefully to what I wanted and somehow made it even better than I had imagined. My hair and makeup photographed beautifully, lasted all day through the ceremony and celebration, and still felt comfortable and natural. What impressed me most was her attention to detail and her ability to create a look that felt elegant, timeless, and completely me. On such an emotional day, having someone with Ashley’s talent and calming presence made all the difference. If you’re looking for someone who is exceptionally skilled, reliable, and genuinely cares about making you feel confident and beautiful, Ashley is the stylist you want.     Perfectly Done

    Working with The Stylist Abroad was such a smooth experience from start to finish. Michelle was prompt in her responses and always professional, which made the planning process feel stress-free. I decided to make a change to my hair after our trial, and honestly I was nervous about not having another practice run, but Michelle nailed exactly what I described and it held up beautifully all day and all night. Her work is accurate to what you ask for, and the style lasted through the entire reception without needing a single touch-up. I felt confident and comfortable the whole time, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day. I'd absolutely recommend The Stylist Abroad to any bride looking for someone who listens, delivers, and creates a style that actually lasts.

    The Stylist Abroad delivers!

    My hair and make up artists Kim and Jenna did a fantastic job. After working through my unique requests of finger waves and whimsical 00s make up, they were able to follow through and execute exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t have been happier the day of the wedding! I never felt more beautiful!

    Perfect!

    I hired Ashley for hair and Cheryl for makeup for myself and 4 members of my wedding party. They were amazing, and exactly what I wanted! We did a trial session a few months before the wedding and it went really well. I wanted to do a colorful makeup look for my Indian wedding and Cheryl was totally on board with bold green eyeshadow! Ashley was also super helpful with all the headwear necessary for the event, giving us advice for how to prep my dupatta (veil) to keep it in place and that sort of thing. On the wedding day itself, they did a great job quickly sussing out the different styles and tastes of the wedding party. They also had something in common with everyone and were chatting and joking with us all morning! They finished up right on schedule, and were able to do touch ups before the ceremony started. Everyone's hair and makeup lasted beautifully through 12 hours of dancing, sweating, rain, and happy tears! I'd absolutely book them again, they were a joy to work with!

    Exactly What I Hoped For

    I couldn’t have asked for a better makeup artist than Ashley! She completely got me bringing to life exactly what I was hoping for, even when I couldn’t fully put it into words myself. Ashley made me feel like myself, which is truly all I wanted on my wedding day. Since I don’t really wear makeup daily, I was nervous about looking too done-up—but she struck the perfect balance. She listened, understood what I wanted (even when I couldn’t explain it perfectly), and brought it to life so naturally. I’m so thankful!
