Hi friends, my name is Randal Johnson, artist and owner of The Pure Paintress. I specialize in live event illustration, wedding paintings. It takes about 7-10 minutes to finish an illustration. The time totally depends on the outfit. In a short period of time I highlight the personality of each look.
A table and 2 chairs. One for me and one for my assistant.
My assistant is a lot of help. She takes pictures of the guest for me and uploads them to the iPad. I just focus on illustrating as many people as I can. I like to draw free hand as well as bring pre-sketched templates to my events.
I prefer Copic markers and watercolor paint when I do illustrations. And for live paintings I like to paint with oils.
Of course! I've done a lot of portrait paintings before I started doing wedding art. I still accept painting commissions. I also offer illustration commissions of people, pets, and buildings!
Yes, I have illustrated a wedding with a guest count of 200 and a gala with a guest count of 300. I complete any illustrations remaining in queue within a ten week time frame.
