Monumental Ballroom, based out of Indianapolis, specializes in creating breathtaking first dances for weddings. Our team choreographs routines that are as unique and spellbinding as each couple's one-of-a-kind love story. Our instructors are happy to work with dancers of all skill levels, designing a routine that they will feel comfortable and confident performing on their big day. In addition to planning your first dance as newlyweds, this business also creates sweet dances for fathers and daughter, mothers and sons, or any combination of your loved ones. They can even plan a fun routine for your entire wedding party!

The process at Monumental Ballroom starts with an initial consultation. At this meeting, your instructor will get to know both of you on a personal level and start planning the touches that'll make your first dance stand out. You get to try out more than one style, letting you decide what matches your vision of a dream dance. After you've selected a package based on our recommendations (with no hidden costs), you'll learn your dance in manageable pieces. Our process also allows you to include breathtaking lifts and dips for a truly custom dance that you get a say in every step of the way!

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with Heidi and Monumental Ballroom. My husband already had experience with ballroom dancing, and I was a novice - a self-proclaimed ungraceful person. We did a trial lesson with Heidi, and decided to do a fully choreographed first dance. Heidi was a great instructor, patient and put up with our self-deprecation and distraction at times, and she was really good at explaining the different steps and how they fit together and with the song, and showing us what it should look like. It was a lot of fun and a great date night that still counted as wedding planning! Sometimes during planning, it's good to get out of the house and stop talking about flowers, food, or tablecloths. Working on a wedding dance was the perfect way for us to do that. After a handful of lessons and practicing at home in the living room, we had a full dance to our song. We both learned a lot in the process, had fun, and I gained some confidence on the dance floor!

Heidi at Monumental Ballroom was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very first request for a lesson, Heidi was friendly, quick to respond, and intentional in understanding our unique needs and vision. She was incredibly patient as we worked through the details, providing personalized guidance to ensure our dance routine felt natural and photograph-worthy, even with some health restrictions that limited our movements. We came in with little to no dance experience, and Heidi immediately made us feel comfortable and capable. Her professional expertise shone through, and we felt completely at ease and confident in her ability to bring our special dance to life over the course of only six sessions. Additionally, she asked thoughtful, probing questions about our dress, music, and the timeline for the day that helped us feel confident and fully prepared overall.
