My name is Shruti Arya , I'm a professional makeup artist based in Long Island , New York. I started my career as a makeup artist in 2009. My main goal is to make my clients feel there absolute best and beautiful. I can help my clients achieve any look there desire.

I can provide makeup services for all ages. My services can be tailored for fashion shows, model shoots, proms, engagement parties , bridal parties, weddings and any special events. My clients are extremely diverse and come from many different backgrounds and ethnicities.

    This was a highly unprofessional and frustrating experience. Key details were not disclosed upfront, including the fact that the artist herself would not be providing hair and makeup and that a team member would be assigned instead. This only became clear after repeated communication, which felt misleading. I was required to send a 450 deposit with no formal contract and no confirmation that the payment was even received. I had to chase confirmation myself, which is unacceptable at this price point. Communication was strictly limited to email. When I requested a phone call to address concerns, I was told calls must be scheduled one to two weeks in advance—even after payment had been made. When I requested a refund just days later due to these issues, it was refused, and I was warned that continuing to raise concerns could result in my booking being canceled. This experience showed a clear lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer care. I would strongly caution others before booking.

    I’m very sorry to hear that your experience with the booking process felt stressful – that is never my goal. For clarity for future couples: Shruti Arya MUA is my company and brand. I work with a small team of experienced hair and makeup artists, and our website and social media showcase a mix of my work and my team’s work. I personally specialize in makeup only; hair services are always provided by one of my hair stylists. In this case, all initial communication and quoting was done through the wedding planner over the course of several months, and it was communicated that services would be provided by my team. After the non-refundable retainer was paid to reserve three peak-season dates, concerns were raised about wanting a personal guarantee that I would be the artist for all events. Because I’m often booked with brides on those weekends, I was not able to make that guarantee so far in advance while still being honest and fair to all of my clients. I completely understand that it can be disappointing when expectations don’t align. However, I do stand by my policies and by the clarity that was shared in writing regarding our team-based structure and the non-refundable retainer collected to hold the dates. I truly wish this family a beautiful wedding weekend and I appreciate the opportunity to provide additional context for future clients.
