Highly recommend Sophia!
It was so great working with Sophia! From booking, to my trial, to the wedding day, everything was amazing! This was my first time getting my makeup professionally done, so I was a bit nervous going into it. But Sophia helped calm those nerves during my trial. She asked questions and we talked through my likes and dislikes, which made me feel a lot more confident. On the wedding day, Sophia did my hair and makeup, plus hair for my four bridesmaids and makeup for two of them. Everyone was so happy with how their looks turned out! Sophia was also super efficient, ensuring we stayed on schedule - we were actually ahead of schedule! Overall, I highly recommend working with Sophia! She is simply the best!

Outstanding Experience
Sophia was an absolute pleasure to work with and truly exceeded every expectation! She listened to everything I asked for and executed it even better than I could have imagined. My makeup trial was flawless, but somehow my wedding-day makeup was EVEN better, and it lasted perfectly through all of the tears (and there were a lot!). My hair stayed flawless all night, even through hours of dancing. I genuinely have never felt prettier. I asked her for a very natural, glowy look and she nailed it. Her communication was efficient, positive, and thoughtful. I always felt heard and completely confident that I was in the best hands. I had over 15 people getting hair and makeup done, and Sophia and her team absolutely killed it. Everyone looked incredible, they stayed perfectly on schedule, and every person left feeling beautiful. I cannot recommend Sophia enough. If I could do my wedding all over again, she would be the first vendor I hired without hesitation. Trusting her with such an important part of my wedding day was one of the best decisions I made!

Sophia is the BEST bridal hair and makeup artist!
Hair and Makeup by Sophia is INCREDIBLE!! I'm not a big make up wearer in day to day life, and Sophia was so great about helping me translate what I liked about the inspiration photos into what would work for my skin tone and type. She was transparent with every application step, and gave me lots of opportunity to review both the look and feel of the hair and make up. I felt so beautiful on both my trial day and my wedding day--like me, but enhanced! The hair and make up lasted all day and night, and Sophia put me completely at ease with how professional hair and makeup can look and feel. I felt like my outside glow matched the inner joy I felt to be celebrating such an important day! I wholeheartedly recommend Hair and Makeup by Sophia. She's the BEST choice you can make for your bridal hair and make up!!

Made me feel beautiful!
Sophia Velez did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I couldn't have asked for anyone better! I have Italian heritage (for context on my complexion) with dark brown loosely curly hair. My wedding was fairly small and I didn't have any bridesmaids, so I had her just do my own hair and makeup. She was incredibly gracious when I was running behind our planned start time, with me being a total slow poke on the day of the wedding. My wedding was also a destination wedding for me, so I had to do a bit of a leap of faith and skip having a trial session, but that turned out to not be an issue at all! I had a couple reference pics for my hair, and for my makeup I only gave the most vague preferences, yet she absolutely nailed it. The only thing I even specified was after the initial blush application, I saw it and mentioned putting some more blush closer to my usual blush placement, and with a wave of her magic wand (er, brush) it was done to perfection in two seconds. I had also never worn false lashes before but when she got them on me, I loved them! The whole time she was working on my hair and makeup, most of my family was hanging out in the hotel room having a bit of a pre-wedding party, and everyone thought Sophia was a delight. I'm so glad I went with Sophia for my wedding!

I am so grateful I found Sophia!!! I knew immediately from our conversations over email that she was going to be a great fit. This was reaffirmed at my trial when she listened to me, and was able to combine all of my inspo pics into a hair and makeup reality that felt authentic to me. At the time of my trial, the only other time I had gotten my makeup done professionally for a wedding, I did not have a great experience. Sophia heard me out, took the time to work through my apprehensions, and helped me feel completely confident. I couldn't have loved how I looked more on my wedding day. Despite my wedding day being 90% humidity, my makeup lasted the entire night!!! My bridesmaids looked fantastic, and even with dancing all night, our hair looked perfect. Sophia is fun, kind, and patient. I couldn't recommend her more.
