Lead Floral Designer

A Lily Among Thorns offers romantic and modern floral designs for the New York Metropolitan area. With our design studio located in Northern New Jersey, we can also happily extend our design services to Connecticut and Pennsylvania. We specialize in an organic and airy approach to floral design drawing inspiration from how stems naturally grow in nature. In our design approach, we lean towards intentional minimalism so we can focus on designs that truly resonate with our couples.

With an emphasis on color theory and principles of design, each wedding and event is designed intentionally while honoring seasonality. Our work is collaborative and curious as we work alongside Wedding Planners and Designers to execute a vision that is sentimental and original.

    So perfect!!!!

    Isabel truly exceeded expectations. I knew next to nothing about flowers going into this experience. When Isabel presented the initial inspiration design board for the wedding, I made a couple of comments of things I liked and did not like. Isabel took all that feedback, and some inspiration photos I emailed her, and truly made the most beautiful wedding flowers in the world! She was also very fun, professional, and low stress, which enabled me to feel comfortable providing the initial comments and getting the flowers of my dreams for the actual wedding day. Isabel also added fun fruit and candles to the the table, creating an experience my guests are still discussing to this day.

    Beautiful florals and great experience!

    We worked with Isabel for our wedding in April and could not be happier with the florals and the whole experience leading up! First, Isabel is such a bubbly and enthusiastic person which made working with her very enjoyable. She was extremely communicative, detail oriented and on top of everything throughout (we never had to once worry about florals, everything was so easy). We went with various spring blooms (mostly cream with some pops of color) and everything came out so beautiful – the chuppah (which was such a star of the ceremony), the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, and all the installations and table florals. She truly brought my vision to life, but also had many creative ideas along the way which we ended up loving (for example, she recommended different single stem bouquets for each bridesmaid which at first I apprehensive about but ended up loving it!). It felt like the perfect spring wedding in NYC with the florals she designed. We highly recommend Isabel not only for her talent, but also she is such a joy to work with – you won’t regret it!
