About Radiant Art by Kristin Chase

Radiant Art by Kristin Chase

Artist

I specialize in live wedding painting and custom commissions from photos. At your wedding, your guests are encouraged to interact with me while I work, and I'll not only amaze them with my ability to capture your faces perfectly, but also with my ability to sing and dance while doing it.

I am the only vendor you will bring in to your wedding who will interact with your guests on a conversational level. Not only do you get a painting, but your guests get to watch it come to life throughout the night, and they are encouraged to talk to me while I work. There's no time limit to how long you get me on your wedding day, or how many hours in the studio I will spend finishing the details of your painting. Your painting will meet my standards, regardless of how many hours it takes. This may be the most important piece of art you ever own, and I don't take that responsibility lightly.

Kristin was absolutely incredible! The whole process was fantastic, from our meetings to plan out what the shot would be to the day of the wedding. We had multiple guests comment that it was one of the coolest things they have seen at a wedding - Kristin was definitely the highlight of many of my little kid cousins! To top it all off, the picture is absolutely stunning and something we will cherish for the rest of our lives! My husband said “best money we spent on the whole day” after seeing it completed!

My wife and I met Kristin at a bridal convention at JX venue. We weren't planning on having a live painter at our wedding, but after meeting Kristin and seeing her work, we knew we needed her on our big day! This was truly one of the best parts of our wedding day; not only is she an absolute joy to be around/chat with guests, but her work is UNBELIEVABLE! The amount of detail in is absolutely breathtaking; so much care and talent and time was put into what is now the most precious piece of art we have in our home. If we were do redo our wedding day 100 times, we would have her there to memorialize the day every single time. If you're looking for a sign to book a live painter, THIS IS IT, GO BOOK KRISTIN!!

Kristin is truly incredible. Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she brought such a warm, joyful presence to our day. She captured our moment with stunning detail, and the final painting is absolutely breathtaking. Every time we look at it, we’re instantly taken back to the exact feeling of that moment. Our guests were mesmerized watching her work and loved getting to talk with her. It became one of the most special parts of our wedding and we’ll cherish this artwork forever.

You should book your live painter as soon as possible. We're often booked only a couple months in advance, but you get a better deal if you book a year out. With each wedding a live painter does, we get better. So if you book a year in advance, you are getting this year's prices for next year's skills. That could be hundreds of dollars in savings.
Anyone you want. While I specialize in just the couple getting married, I am happy to add anyone you want into your live painting. I can add other guests, people who weren't really there, or even your pets. Your wish is my command.
I will take your painting home to do a studio finish. On the day of your wedding, I will arrive a few hours early to start sketching and painting the background. The goal by the end of the night is to have the big picture visible and for the couple to be recognizable. I will take your painting home and give it a studio finish, adding details and making color corrections. Your painting will usually take about four weeks to complete.
Yes. My job is to consider the composition of the painting and make sure you are the focus of it, and to make sure it includes the elements of your wedding that are most meaningful to you. I can move people and modify spaces to make your painting look its best.
Absolutely. I'll take reference photos and videos with my phone so I can paint anything you want me to paint wherever you want me to paint it. I have moved locations up to three times at one event, and it's not a problem.
I'll want to get in touch with your venue coordinator and/or your wedding planner to make sure we're all on the same page. In general, all I need is a 4'x6' space and access to water. I bring everything that I need. I do require a vendor meal, as I will spend 8+ hours onsite.
Uniqueness, entertainment, and a memento from your day unlike any other. At every single wedding I paint at, guests are always in awe that live wedding painting is even a thing. Most guests have never seen a live wedding painter before. You get to work with me to decide exactly what you want in your painting so it is special and meaningful to you, and just a few short weeks after your wedding, you get to hang this incredible piece of original art on your wall.
If you just want the painting and don't care about the live entertainment part, you should consider a commission. If it's all about the big day and having something special on the day of, then you want a live painter. If you get your wedding photos back and there's one you'd really like painted, then you should commission it. I'm happy to provide guidance and bounce ideas back and forth.
Price and time. Because I use slow drying acrylics, I can paint with them very similarly to how I paint with oils. You likely won't be able to tell the difference between an acrylic and an oil painting. Because oils do take weeks to dry, it does take me a lot longer to complete an oil painting than it does an acrylic. Both paintings will have a protective varnish on them, and both paintings will outlast either of our lifetimes.
That depends. If you have a date you need it by, it's best for both of us if you state that right away when you inquire. If I think there's a chance I can't meet your deadline, I will tell you upfront. I will provide you with an estimate based on size, specific elements of your painting, whether I'm using oils or acrylics, and where in my order of projects yours falls. Once I get started, acrylics typically take a few weeks, oils can take a couple months.
