    Personal, Polished, and Picture-Perfect

Peter and Marisa made learning our wedding dance a true highlight for us. We knew we wanted our first dance to be something more personal than a standard routine, and Peter and Marisa created and taught us beautiful and stunning choreography to “Finish Line” by Elton John and Stevie Wonder that felt completely us. They thought carefully about creating beautiful moments for our professional photographers to capture, so every pose and transition looked as good in photos as it felt to dance. Over the course of 8 lessons, they were patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in getting every detail right, from the timing of the moves to the little moments that would make the dance feel meaningful rather than just memorized. All that preparation paid off on our wedding day and made for a memory that we’ll treasure forever, one that followed us all the way to our honeymoon in Italy, where we couldn’t resist taking a photo of the dip that we learned from them. If you’re planning a wedding and want your first dance to be a genuine reflection of who you are as a couple, not just a rehearsed routine, we can’t recommend Boston Ballroom highly enough.

    Lovely wedding dance experience!

We can’t recommend Peter enough! We came in as total beginners with a lot of nerves, and he made the whole process fun and stress-free. He choreographed something that fit us perfectly — beautiful but totally doable — and was patient and encouraging every step of the way. By the wedding we felt confident and actually excited to dance, and our first dance turned out better than we imagined. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. If you want a talented, lovely instructor who makes it easy, Peter is your person!

We recommend starting your wedding dance lessons 3–6 months before your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to learn, practice, and feel confident without adding stress to your planning. If you'd like a custom choreographed first dance, mashup or have a busy schedule, starting even earlier is ideal. Don't forget even your parents like to have enough time to practice for your special day! Short on time? Don't worry! We've helped couples create beautiful, memorable first dances in just a few lessons. The sooner you begin, the more relaxed and enjoyable the experience will be.
The best way to start is with an Introductory Private Dance Lesson (45 minutes) for $89/couple. You can book your first dance lesson directly on our website, https://bostonballroom.com or email us at dance@bostonballroom.com. You can also text us at (617)969-3262 The Introductory dance lesson should be taken at least 30 days before your wedding date. Have less time, we can still help make your wedding dance memorable just Email Us.
Unlike cramming and studying before a test, dance lessons are for your body and not your mind. The body needs time to build a habit of moving (body memory) and actually won't forget like the mind can. The more time you give yourself to learn to dance, your body will be comfortable and relaxed. If you wait to the last minute, you may feel stiff and awkward while moving under pressure. During every private dance lesson, videos are taken on your phone so you can study and practice what you have learned. Starting early gives you the time to practice dancing and being your best self.
Your song choice(s) is an important part of your first dance process. Some couples choose a meaningful song, some combine songs to make a hybrid mashup, others have a band play their favorite chosen song. Sharing your chosen song(s) with Boston Ballroom® helps us tailor the fastest and most efficient dance lessons for you. Your song choices serve as the blueprint for your wedding dance journey. Haven't picked your song yet? No problem! Our expert dance instructors can help make suggestions and guide you during the selection song process. Just email us!
Yes! We love helping couples arrange the right music and length of music for their wedding. Music editing is complimentary with the purchase of 5 or more private dance lessons or a $95 music editing fee. Boston Ballroom® will ensure that your DJ or Band receives a clean music edit prior to your wedding.
We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes that allow for movement. It's a date, dress up for each other! If you can bring shoes similar to what you will be wearing for your wedding that would be ideal (Heels, wedges, flats, men's dress shoes) Most students come straight from work or have plans afterwards. Our facility has locker rooms, towel service and even showers to freshen up.
Great question! The amount of private dance lessons you need for your wedding dance depends on a few factors: your song choice, your level of ability and how awesome you want your first dance to be. After your introductory private dance lesson you will determine how many dance lessons you will need.
The studio requires at least 24 hours notice for any rescheduling of any private dance lessons. Private dance lessons that are rescheduled under 24 hours are charged a $30 cancellation fee versus loosing an entire paid lesson. Boston Ballroom® Students agree to studio policies and terms & conditions. https://bostonballroom.com/terms-and-conditions No Refund Policy - No cancellation after purchase.
