Melvins DJ Service is owned by Melvin and his wife, Sarah. In the DJ business since 2013, They have recently expanded into a photobooth business (The Couve Booth) primarily operated by Sarah, although offering packages that include both services. Operating out of SW Washington, DJ Melvin serves a broad range of clients and styles in a broad range of areas across Portland and Vancouver area. We do not contract out our DJ services.

With over a decade of experience with weddings, Melvin is it well versed in the ins and outs of your wedding, regardless of how you choose to customize it! He'll help make sure all your bases are covered during the planning process and throughout your big day. Melvin will ensure that your guests are entertained while keeping things moving at the pace needed to accomplish all of your big day goals. With a degree in radio broadcasting and over 2 decades of stage experience, Melvin is happy to create custom song edits for your ceremony and is more than comfortable on the mic; able to maintain a balance of being both professional and fun!

    Highly recommend!!!

    As a wedding planner, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many DJs over the years, and Melvin is exactly the kind of professional you want on your vendor team. He is communicative, collaborative, and genuinely works with the planner—not against them—which makes the entire day run so much more smoothly. What stood out most was his attitude. Melvin is positive, friendly, approachable, and always willing to help wherever needed. It was clear that his priority wasn’t just playing great music—it was making sure our couple had the absolute best wedding day possible.     Friendly, professional, timely and AWESOME

    We were thrilled with Melvin's DJ services for our wedding! His communication throughout the planning process was prompt, helpful, knowledgeable and creative. He had great suggestions when we were unsure about music choices and really took the time to understand the vibe we wanted for our reception. The quality of his work was exceptional - he kept our guests dancing all night with his impressive mixing skills and song selections. Melvin helped make our wedding reception a huge hit through his talent and professionalism. Family and friends truly enjoyed his mix and were raving about him days later.     DJ Melvin is fantastic !

    We hired Melvin's DJ Service for the music at our wedding and were delighted with the service we received. Melvin was friendly, informative and had great energy when we were planning the event details over Zoom and email. There were no issues with the equipment at either the ceremony site or the reception location. Melvin really knows his craft when it comes to DJing weddings - he kept the energy up all night long. He worked closely with us on timing our first dance song perfectly and was very accommodating when it came to incorporating our must-play song requests. Melvin kept our guests on the dance floor with his energetic presence and excellent song choices. For the quality of work and level of experience we got, Melvin's fees were very reasonable - we felt we got great value for our money. Overall, the music and Melvin's services were a big hit at our wedding and everyone had a fantastic time dancing the night away. Do not hesitate to book this man!
