Our quartet of classically trained musicians consists of two violins, one viola, and one cello. We love performing classical, romantic, and contemporary music. We have decades of mastery to delight and entertain attendees at weddings, parties, and conferences.

Craft your celebrations with the ambience of classical music or contemporary popular music with classical undertones. Have us tailor unique arrangements based on your requests. Formed in 2018, we are a diverse ensemble focused on bringing happiness to any occasion. We perform regularly at the Burlington Farmer's Market and at the Shelburne Farmer's Market.

    Bride

    The Hildegard String Quartet was a fantastic addition to our wedding day. From the very first interaction, they were friendly, quick to respond, and clear in their communication. We knew right away we were in good hands. On the day of the wedding, they exceeded our expectations with their excellent performance. They played a great mix of classical and modern pop hits that had all our guests raving. The group learned some songs I had never heard at a wedding before, and they nailed the arrangements. Throughout the event, they maintained a wonderful, upbeat attitude that really contributed to the joyful atmosphere. We're so glad we invested in the Hildegard String Quartet - they were worth every penny and helped make our special day even more memorable.

    Pure elegance

    The quartet was amazing to work with. They did beautiful music throughout my ceremony that really elevated the vibe. They were willing to learn a new song for me and I am so grateful.

We traditionally wear either black and white or all black, but we're open to requests (formal wear, etc.)
We have a full classical string music repertoire and a growing contemporary popular music repertoire, but we will play new songs of any genre, given some lead time to find and rehearse the music.
Yes, we absolutely take music requests. We will work with you to have the ceremony or reception music of your dreams.
Yes, we provide music for wedding ceremonies and cocktail receptions. We have a full repertoire of classical string music.
We specialize in classical music, and we are broadening our popular music repertoire, but we are open to playing other styles by request.
We arrive 30 minutes early to set up. We require that the venue provide us with 4 armless chairs and shelter from the elements, if the venue is outdoors (shade for a very sunny day or cover for a rainy day). We provide our own music stands.
The Hildegard String Quartet is based in Chittenden County. Travel fees for each player will be included for events outside of a 20 mile radius of Burlington. When applicable, the 2022 IRS standard mileage rate of $0.625 per mile will be added for each player.
The Hildegard Quartet has a 2023 rate of $495 for the first hour. Subsequent hours are $440 per hour. Deposits of $50 are required to reserve dates.
