“We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”

The coordinator that we were assigned, Mandy, was also our sound engineer and all-around go-to person on the day of the wedding. Mandy is friendly, professional, and patient. We had so many questions for her to make sure everything would go smoothly, and all of our requests were met with care. As a musician myself, the seamless logistics of the day (especially when it comes to sound), were very important to me. Every step of the way, Mandy answered e-mails, questions, hopped on Zoom calls with us. We were truly in the best hands and we felt like everything would be taken care of on the day-of. When there are a million things going on on the day of your wedding, you just have to put your faith and trust in the vendors. And I felt more than comfortable doing this with The Metropolitan Players. Now, on to the band. Oh... my... GOODNESS, they totally blew our socks off! Our setup included everything - the four vocalists, the horns, drums, bass, keyboards, etc. The band knocked it out of the park. They satisfied all of our requests and exceeded our expectations, both musically and energetically. Singers and instrumentalists were coming out into the audience. Arrangements were tight. Singing was powerful and on-point. They made our guests, and us, feel like rockstars. Our guests made sure to let us know afterwards that the band was one of the best features of the night. We went for a more vintage vibe with a lot of funk, soul, and R&B. The Metropolitan Players DELIVERED. If you are looking to have live music at your wedding, it certainly enhances the experience and makes it more than memorable. And The Metropolitan Players is your go-to band for your wedding, given their professionalism, high level of musicianship, efficiency, and just overall kindness and friendliness. Each part of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are broken into different sections. I picked all the songs that I wanted and I even listed where to start certain songs. If I didn’t have enough songs for something, Josh put in his selections. All the music was perfect! Josh did a great job keeping people on the dance floor! The photo booth was a huge hit with our guests. After the wedding, we got digital copies of all the photos! It was so fun looking through them together! “I'm obsessed with Charlene! She was a dream to work with. She brought such professionalism to our hectic event. We were planning a wedding at a personal property, meaning we had to supply every single vendor and she handled everything amazingly. She wrangled the vendors prior to the day of and she helped me keep my cool during the stress of the morning. You can tell she's a pro at this! There were times I felt a little underwater in terms of managing an event I had no experience with, and her demeanor was so calming and she handled any last minute things. “There is not enough good things we can say about Sarah! From day 1, she had great communication before the proposal while deciding the perfect location and how we would meet up with her. She executed flawlessly and I never saw her until the ring was on my finger even though she followed us for a bit before the big moment. She made us feel so comfortable for the photoshoot after and was willing to go to a few different spots with us all while carrying all of our stuff so it wouldn’t be in our pockets for the pictures. We received the sneak peeks the next day and were blown away with how well they turned out, she nailed it!! She got the big “I do” moment which was most important and then captured so many other sweet moments right before and after that I will forever be so grateful we can relive because of her photos. “Justin was lovely to work with from the start. He was booked for another wedding, but he paired us up with Rob, an associate DJ of his. Both Rob and Justin were so so fun to work with. Rob took the time to text or set up whatever zoom calls we felt we needed. For the actual day, Rob was amazing. We had dinner service, reception, and "after party". Robs killed it with his flow between songs, and was incredibly accommodating and flexible if we had any requests in the moment, and was able to dodge or handle any "questionable" song requests that came his way. We knew that he always put my husband and I's wishes first. We also had multiple people comment on how good the DJ was during the reception, and after the fact! He also went above and beyond to pull heroics the day of to get some of our DIY spot lighting set up that wasn't set up the night prior. Rob was incredible to work with, and just as fun to chat with. Will miss working with them, but absolutely will be following their journeys and would use them again in a heartbeat! So thankful for Justin and Rob!”
