“We truly cannot speak highly enough of Smoke & Pickles! Our guests are still talking about "the best wedding food they've ever had" 3 months later, and we can't argue with them. Beyond creating an incredibly bespoke and personal menu for us (with plenty of GF and veggie options!) Sally was instrumental to the process. She helped us book all of our rentals (tent, flatware, plates, tables, etc) and she was always there for advice and to offer suggestions based on her experience. She met with us at PEAK to pick out our tableware, she gave us great suggestions for anything else we needed to rent, coordinated all the setup both on Friday and our actual wedding day, and was so prompt in her replies via email or phone. We could not have pulled it off without her expertise! We would have ended up spending a lot more money overall if we didn't have her guidance. And of course the food was amazing. I loved the fact that it was all local and in-season! Sustainability was very important when picking our vendors, so I appreciated the attention to detail, the composting, and support of local farmers and growers. Plus we got to take home the leftovers! Win/win/win. Lastly, the whole team truly cares about the process. They don't just throw food in pans on the table, but craft such gorgeous tablescapes that look like they fit in perfectly with the rest of the event. Handmade pottery, flowers, cutting boards...its beautiful to look at, AND to eat! If you need a caterer to deliver the BEST food and support your wedding or event - Smoke and Pickles is your team.”

“I used Boards And Bites for my cocktail hour and I am so glad I did! “I cannot recommend Soraya (and her team)’s catering more enthusiastically, for any event but especially if you are looking for cuisine that isn’t your typical banquet fare. When my wife and I first started planning our wedding, we agreed that delicious and personal were our top priorities for food. We’d had so many wedding meals that were *nice* - lovely service and presentation - but kind of boring and uninspired. We love to feed our friends good food that they can’t easily make or get elsewhere and wanted to reflect that in our wedding. We agree that the North African food I’d grown up eating is the best cuisine on earth and we wanted to serve that, but worried that a wedding caterer couldn’t do it justice and we might have to navigate the hassle or no-frills approach of working with a restaurant that doesn’t really do weddings. Thankfully, we’d found an incredible wedding planner (Rachel of One Bell Designs) who assured us no compromise was necessary, because she knew just the caterer. When she shared the vast menu for SYB Events I was still a little bit skeptical, since while I saw some intriguing dishes there was still a lot of the usual wedding fare—but then I googled Soraya’s name and found the Soraya Events site with its more focused menus, and knew we had to meet with her. And we didn’t talk to any other caterers after that, because Soraya heard the vision and met each of our ideas with her own. We asked about a number of my favorites we hadn’t seen on her menus and she affirmed she could provide them with absolute confidence, and she was more than happy to tailor the service and timing to fit our very particular vision. One of my favorite things about working with Soraya was the at-home tasting she arranged and dropped off at our house (with a complimentary bottle of wine!), which fed us for most of a week and affirmed with dish after delicious dish that we’d made the perfect choice. When it came to the wedding day, she and her team seamlessly worked with Rachel’s to set up a kitchen in our unequipped venue. Soraya’s timing was incredible; she turned up at the exact moments we needed sustenance bearing coffee, hors d’oeuvres, and full plates when we arrived at the sweetheart table that were still hot. From the iced coffee welcome with cardamom and rose water syrups to the mezze spread reception to the couscous and tagines and kofta at the buffet, every bite was delicious and distinctly North African. We lost count of the number of guests who told us it was the best wedding food they’d ever had! My slightly jaded heart really didn’t expect our wedding to feel as special as it did, and Soraya was a huge part of that—we are so grateful!”

“Sea State catered a dinner (the “Friday Night Welcome Cookout”) for about 45 people before my daughter’s wedding in Bourne. I chose Sea State for the occasion because their sample menu was full of delicious-sounding items that could fit a casual buffet, and especially for their own Bourne oysters for the raw bar I wanted. They were a pleasure to work with before the event and everyone on their staff seemed enthusiastic about creating a true feast. The meal was fabulous, beyond what I had imagined. At least a dozen guests came up to me to praise the dinner (with many special mentions of the crab cakes and pies). Their raw bar made the oyster-lovers happy and enticed a few folks to try them for the first time (which was one of my goals for the out-of-town guests). “We loved Simple Fare! I don't write reviews unless I truly mean it. The food was absolutely delicious, working with them was so easy, communication was constant, and I sometimes felt like Maeghan was my second Wedding Coordinator. She had so many good ideas and always kept our vision and most importantly (to us), our budget in mind! She helped us organize our floor plan in a way that kept things running smooth and kept people partying - for example, coffee and desserts on the edge of the dance floor to keep people dancing all night! As someone who had no idea where to begin planning, I appreciated every bit of guidance Maeghan provided. Our venue had a list of preferred caterers but we specifically went off-list so we could work with Simple Fare! Because they were not pre-approved, there were some additional hoops to jump through, but Maeghan and Candice and everyone at Simple Fare went above and beyond to make sure everything was covered and that the process was smooth on our end. Truly no extra steps were added for us. Candice was our on-site event manager and went the extra mile to make sure our dinner service ran smoothly. She coordinated tables for the buffet so there was never a line, and stopped by our sweetheart table multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted! The bartenders and servers did an amazing job and seemed to be having a great time during the reception, which in turn made all the guests have an even better time! Who says you can't have fun while doing your job, you know? Everyone raved about the food, and I can attest it was delicious. Get the short rib!!! And the stuffed mushrooms and oatmeal raisin cookies :) I'd recommend their food and service to anyone planning an event!”
