I was introduced to the world of photography the same week I was introduced to the world! All thanks to my Dad, who was never without his camcorder or camera. Because of him, our memories growing up are preserved. Then I got my first camera + tons of film. I documented everything. When film turned into digital, that was a turning point in my life. Since then, my memories, large + small, have been organized on my computer, by year. So I can go back + revisit so many wonderful memories from my life...most which I wouldn't remember without pictures!

As excited as I am to get to the dancefloor with you guys, I know a lot of planning goes into making your day special. As your photographer, I’ve been to a few weddings and am just a call or text away from any insight you might want. I approach every wedding with the same mentality, how can I tell the story of today in the most real way possible? I’ve found the best way to do that is to just be me. I allow myself to be present and listen to the stories unfold throughout the day.

From a young age, she discovered the power of storytelling through her mom's scrap books and National Geographic magazines, sparking an undying fascination with capturing the essence of life's most profound moments. She studies under renowned photographers, soaking up their wisdom and honing her own unique style; authentic photojournalism.

I began my career a decade ago. As a tour photographer, I began accompanying musicians all over the world. Little did I know at that point the low lights, high energy, and late nights would translate well into my career as a wedding photographer. My start as a music photographer gave me the confidence to navigate even the most challenging and unpredictable situations, and I use the same philosophy now while photographing weddings: keep calm, stay observant, and follow the action.

Taken from her nickname, "Jaye Bird" given by her late grandmother and her vision for creativity, "Bird's Eye" was developed. Jaye is a self-taught District of Columbia & Maryland-based photographer. She is dedicated to capturing life in its vast array of colors, emotion and sentiments, while creating a relaxed atmosphere to allow clients to simply, BE themselves. She believes that ALL people are extraordinary in their own way and reflect beauty and life. It is always her mission and passion to help others and therefore, provide affordable services and great memories for each of her clients.
