“We cannot recommend KURO Creative House enough. This review is long overdue but we couldn’t be happier with our wedding video and our experience working with them (formerly Hereafter Films). When we were deciding if we wanted a wedding video, we initially came to the decision that they were all a bit too cheesy or formulaic for our tastes. We consider ourselves sentimental but not sappy, and weren’t about to book a cinematic-style videographer since we didn’t care to have a faux movie trailer. We actually didn’t find any other videographers that resonated with us, even briefly looking outside of Texas, so we were planning to forgo video since we didn’t want to spend money on a product we weren’t excited about. Then we found KURO Creative House. Like others, we initially considered videography an “extra” when making our budget, but once we saw their work, we knew we had to prioritize it, if we were lucky enough for them to be available for our date. I never loved that seemingly all wedding vendors use the term “investment” in lieu of “pricing” on their materials, but the term is befitting of their work. It truly was one of the best investments we made for our wedding, and we absolutely adore and cherish our video. (Just a note that photography wasn’t an offering at the time we booked, but they have photo/video packages now!) Aside from their incredible work, which speaks for itself, one thing we were drawn to when reading about their shooting style was their use of the phrase “90% fly on the wall” — and they really were just that. I’ve been to several weddings since ours and it made me realize how much I hardly remember seeing Ryan & Sharayah the whole day?! As introverts, their noninvasive style and their chill, calming presence was key for us being able to feel relaxed enough to enjoy our day. If you’re on the fence, book them while your date is still available! Go check out their work on their Vimeo (linked in the footer of their website) and see for yourself. But get the tissue box ready, because all of their films are so touching and authentic and completely unique.”

One thing to know about me is that I truly am passionate about what I do, and I think that shows in my work. I love getting to know everyone's story and want to gift my couples with a film that truly captures their love. I have been filming weddings for 3 years but I knew I had a passion for filming long before I started this journey. I got my first camera in high school and used any excuse to film my friends or the places I traveled! It wasn't until my second year in college that I really started to pursue video as a career. I bought a few pieces of gear, and filmed my first wedding in April 2021!

“Hayden was an absolute joy to work with through the entire process leading up to our wedding and afterward. Fortunately, we had met Hayden several times leading up to our day because he had videoed 2 of our friends weddings we had attended before ours. By the time he filmed our day we were very comfortable. Aside from that he also took the time to do a phone call with my husband Seth and I to get to know us and what we were truly looking for in our video. The day of the wedding he was everywhere around the venue getting the most perfect shots of even the smallest details of our day. After the wedding we ran into him three more times at more of our friends weddings and he always had an update on where he was at with our video. As he worked on our video he stayed in constant communication with us and even sent the raw footage of our letter reading so we would always have it. Our photographer also raved about how great he was to work along side during our day, as well. As a bride I know the expenses of a wedding can add up quickly, but I highly encourage splurging on a videographer and Hayden is hands down the best around. It truly is an art and he has mastered it to a tee.”

Hi friends! My name is Jonah Lorsung and I'm a filmmaker, writer, and photographer born in the Midwest. Most of my free time is spent enjoying concerts, cruising the coast in my Japanese van, or getting lost in a new hobby (right now that's "de-Googling" my life). I'm currently based in Portland, OR and available for travel anywhere my camera may take me, continuing my pursuit of stories that pique my interest. Mostly love, good light, and the small moments that make life worth living.

“I first saw Jonah’s work on instagram (he’s worked with my photographer and they make an amazing team!) and decided that if I did have a videographer, Jonah would be it. Jonah has an amazing eye for understated moments, and edits those moments together into a cinematic and emotionally charged film. Jonah was easy to communicate with, easy to plan with, and was a joy to have around on the day of our wedding. In addition to our long film and social media cut, Jonah also was able to give us our raw footage (we requested this, definitely ask if you want it but don’t expect it from a vendor!), which really highlighted to me how involved Jonah was throughout the day. Jonah’s work is the perfect combination of a fly on the wall and a friend on the dance floor. But my favorite part about Jonah’s work is that every film he makes is different and unique to that wedding. There is no stock image or typical layout, they’re all an individual reflection of that day. I could not recommend Jonah enough as a videographer. I’m so glad to have worked with him for our wedding, and to have supported a wonderful and talented person. The photos I’ve included are screenshots from our wedding film and may not reflect the quality of image, but do reflect the artistic quality of Jonah’s films!”
