Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (93 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Truxton, NY

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were nervous about doing our own flowers, but Flower Moxie made the whole process simple. The owner texted me right after delivery to check in and answer any questions, which gave us peace of mind. The flowers arrived on Thursday looking vibrant and healthy, and they stayed that way through our Sunday wedding. The step-by-step instructions and bouquet recipes took away the guesswork, making it totally doable even for first-timers like us. Best of all, we had gorgeous real flowers without spending a fortune. Highly recommend if you want to save money without sacrificing quality.

Awarded Best of Zola
The Faux Bouquets were an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Their communication was quick and simple, and they were always responsive to any questions or requests we had. The quality of their work was truly high quality and gorgeous - the bouquets, boutonnières, and beautiful floral arrangements they created for our arch were stunning and exceeded our expectations. They worked closely with us to achieve the exact look and feel we wanted for our wedding florals. The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

Wilder Gardens and Flowers
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Truxton, NY

Hi! I'm Alex, owner and lead designer of Wilder, a wedding florist and floral design studio serving NYC, Syracuse, Rochester, The Finger Lakes, and beyond! Wilder has created florals for galas, fashion shows, and weddings at some of the best NYC venues for over a decade, and more recently, at boutique venues in Central New York. We approach our beautifully wild wedding flowers with passion, cohesiveness, and an environmental ethic, taking inspiration from the landscape around us. Most of my design blends more obvious blooms with forage from my land upstate, so that your wedding feels seasonal, natural, original and (elegantly ) wild.

“Alex and her team are not only intensely dedicated to the look and feel of the floral design of the event, but respectful in honoring the surroundings they work within. Their work at Wave Hill for a recent wedding was a game changer and many clients look to the images from that event as their own wedding and private event muse.”

Mohican Flowers
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Serves Truxton, NY

As a wedding floral designer, I am passionate about crafting unique arrangements that capture each couple's unique love story. I find great joy in transforming visions into beautiful realities, making their special day unforgettable.

Wedding May 2025, Beardslee Castle, Photos by Erin Covey Creative There's so many wonderful things to say, I hope I can cover them all. Hanna and Elle are outstanding florists and wonderful people to work with. My vision of flowers was was "pretty and lavender" and they took that and ran with it. My ceremony was originally meant to be outside but as the day got closer and the weather turned, Hanna made sure to be in touch with me and easily adjusted to doing the ceremony inside. Walking into the venue and seeing their work was incredible. The ceremony area was beautiful, the bud vases on the tables and along the mantels were so pretty and so perfect, me and my guests absolutely loved every detail. Hanna delivered the flowers to Beardslee, spent the afternoon setting up, and made sure to see me to give me and the bridesmaids our bouquets (which were STUNNING). From the initial consult all the way through to the wedding, she answered my questions, listened to my vision, and was all around amazing to work with. I can't recommend Mohican flowers enough, thank you Hanna and Elle!

Zombie Flowers

  • Serves Truxton, NY

After the global zombie apocalypse, in the early winter of '24, I heeded the call, picked up my shovel and shotgun and headed out to the fields. Protecting this wide world from the pestilence that is the zombie flower is no small feat, but I've learned to survive. I've made it my mission to hunt these jokers down, wrangle them together, and to serve to you dead off the proverbial platter. In these post-apocalyptic times, the zombie flowers make for excellent mantle trophies, but some have said they make awesome wedding bouquets. Whatever your cup of tea, these zombie flowers are one of a kind prepared just for you.

My husband and I decided to have an intimate micro-wedding with 12 other people in June of 2024, and organized just about everything ourselves, including the flowers. As part of the planning process, we sought out a preservation artist who could freeze this element of our wedding forever in time. I found Jackie of Evergreen Botanical Studio and her 3-D preservation style matched exactly what I was looking for, so we booked our date with her as soon as we could. She was the PERFECT choice. She took my crazy wild bouquet, my grandmother’s handkerchiefs that wrapped the stems, all the extra flowers from the arrangements, and even some delphinium from her own garden (because she's such an angel and took pity on me that mine didn’t quite survive), and created a work of art that takes me directly back to my wedding day and reminds me of all the amazingness that unfolded. AND she crafted the most wonderful little memento for my Mom, that was completed in time to gift for her 50th wedding anniversary, just months after our event. Jackie was so easy to work with, providing detailed instructions for packaging and shipping the flowers from the Midwest, eased my worry by confirming as soon as she received them, and gave a timeline and explanation of how the whole preservation process works. It seems like magic that the flowers in the finished product look just as they did on the day of our wedding. There is something extra special about the care and artistry that she applies to each and every project she works on. You can feel the passion for her craft shining through, from the vibrant colors and clever composition to the expertly homemade frames. This was an important part of our wedding budget, and we are so glad we made the investment, not only as an extra special keepsake but also to support a fellow artist and small business owner. You won’t be disappointed making the same choice!

In May of 2015, when I got married, we only had a week long engagement, so we collected bridal veil and lily of the valley from our gardens, and my mother cut lilacs from my grandmother's shrub. Every year, on our anniversary, our table is graced with the same flowers that I carried on my wedding day, and I have been enamored with the local flower movement ever since. We grow our flowers in harmony with nature. Our gardens are biodiverse, regenerative and naturally maintained. We design each arrangement in the spirit of mother nature; honored, collected and arranged by an artists' hand. We use sustainable techniques and no foam.

10/10 would recommend to anyone who needs a brilliant, hardworking, passionate, and creative florist. We met with Sarah throughout our planning process and she worked with us and our planner to understand and bring our vision to life. She clearly understood the assignment. Every detail was perfect. Everything she created was unique and matched exactly what we were looking for. By growing her own flowers, she has an intimate understanding of what will work best. She created an incredible arch out of branches and flowers, aisle meadows that got repurposed to center pieces, and a variety of centerpieces for our 21 tables. Each table had its own, unique look - some with raised meadows, some with a mix of candles and bud vases, and some with a vase of flowers and candles. Our head table had 28 people, and she made each place setting feel special. She works hard to be as sustainable as possible, sourcing and thrifting vessels from local shops and vendors, and drying and reusing flowers when possible. Everything she created was beautiful, including a big fall bouquet. She also created a totally custom ceiling installation that hung over the dance floor - an absolute show stopper that all of our guests loved, and that the venue thinks will inspire some of their future events. Cannot recommend Highland Springs Floral highly enough.

WOOD FLOWERS that last a lifetime. At Pine & Petal Weddings, we believe flowers should endure as long as the memories they celebrate. Our handcrafted sola wood bouquets and décor go beyond fleeting blooms—capturing your story in pieces that last for years. From walking down the aisle to gifting a friend or gathering around the table, our wooden flowers are keepsakes that bring joy, comfort, and timeless beauty to life’s most meaningful moments.

I can’t say enough good things about Pine and Petal Wood Flowers! I had the absolute pleasure of working with Vanessa Ward throughout the entire process, and she was incredible. I was completely lost when it came to choosing colors and styles, but Vanessa helped me pick shades that perfectly matched my wedding color scheme and flowers that suited my taste beautifully. She was so communicative, kind, and accommodating—especially when I needed my flowers made and shipped on a tight timeline. Everything arrived on time and looked stunning! I would highly recommend Pine and Petal to anyone looking for elegant, timeless, and long-lasting floral arrangements. We plan to have our bouquet proudly on display as a beautiful reminder of our wedding day, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!
