“We were a couple determined to plan our party-only wedding independently, and weren't sure we wanted to spend the money on photography. Aimee far exceeded expectations and we are so glad we went with her (in fact, we think she probably undercharged us!). In addition to the photos being absolutely gorgeous and perfectly capturing our intended vibe (private and romantic vows outside in a lush garden space, followed by a big indoor rager party), she went above and beyond just photography. She helped us plan our day-of itinerary, gave us tons of ideas to nail our vision for photos and vibe/energy, and even helped pick out our final accessories (we fondly think of her as our quasi maid of honor and best man, since we didn't have any wedding parties). I will always remember her wiping water from my bouquet on her t-shirt every time she took it out of the vase for me or playing my request hype song as she drove us from our vow location to our reception. “Penderview Events truly went above and beyond to make our day PERFECT. As a DIY and meticulous bride, we knew Anna was the one we would entrust with our vision the moment we had our phone consultation; she was so incredibly sweet and enthusiastic about our big day, and I immediately felt a sense of ease that she will be able to handle all the shenanigans and i can pass her the torch with ease. Although she was hired for "day of", she assisted us in any way possible months leading to and made sure we were on top of all the important tasks leading up to the day of (i.e. vendors contact info, finalizing timeline for the morning/day of, etc.). My big day unfortunately started off disastrous (I became car sick), so I was unable to give guidance with the decor during set up. But since one of the tasks Anna asked me weeks prior was for a list with all the decor and how/where I wanted them placed, Penderview legit made my vision come true!!!!!!!! Penderview was so attentive, that they were even able to place some items which I gave no instructions for (i.e. last minute decided that we wanted wedding party to sit during the ceremony, so I made name placement cards for the reserved chairs, and without mentioning it, they were placed on the chairs in processional order). Penderview was able to execute every event and details on the timeline FLAWLESSLY, and I was able to enjoy the event with ease knowing that everything was in such capable hands. We felt and saw how invested Penderview was throughout the day in making it perfect for us, especially the attention to details and handling all the logistics smoothly behind-the-scenes. I also really appreciated Anna’s assertiveness when hiccups would arise (ie, making sure guests wouldnt be walking in while were ready down the aisle/stay out of view, wedding party prioritized drinking and forgot to come back for portraits; flower girls kept running infront of camera during portraits, and so many other headaches i did not want to deal with, etc.) Not only was Anna able to accomplish and execute my vision beyond expectations, but she was also my emotional support and my right-hand lady, making sure I was always hydrated. Anna’s empathetic and kind demeanor made her feel more like a close friend than just a ‘day of coordinator’. Hiring Penderview was the best investment we made. Thank you so much for making our day magical and we will forever be grateful to Penderview!!!”

“Natalie shot my engagement photos and they were everything I could have hoped for and more. The proposal was a total surprise, and I still can't believe how well they came out and how seamlessly she captured even the initial moments given how unprepared I was! Not only were the photos amazing (and sent to us on a super quick turnaround, even though it was over the holidays) but she also gave so much helpful guidance and was such a calming presence throughout the shoot. I am not always naturally good at posing and was very nervous, but she gave very clear direction and really put me at ease so that the best moments she captured were really natural ones. Our photoshoot was at the National Portrait Gallery, so she also worked closely with my fiancée to find lots of different art and settings throughout the museum —looking back at the photos now I can really see how her artistry and vision came to life! She expertly worked with the art to use dynamic angles and perspectives that were unique and gave us a lot of options. We also took a few pictures at the Christmas market outside the gallery, and even those came out amazing, which is so impressive considering it was PACKED and we could barely move! It’s hard to put into words how much it means to have such a special time preserved so beautifully. Since I was so surprised, a lot of the day went by in a blur, and I’m so thankful to be able to relive it again and again through the photos. I couldn’t stop crying when we got them and have gotten ENDLESS compliments since posting them on social! WE LOVE NATALIE!!”

My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. “As soon as we took a tour of the Atrium, we knew this was the perfect spot to get married. The gardens are beautiful, and the inside the building the glass walls, plants, and little river give an airy and natural feel. I didn't worry about rain because you feel like you're outside even when you're in. When guests got too hot on the dance floor, they could go out and socialize on the patio overlooking the gardens in the cool night air. Given the meal prices for comparable venues, this venue is GREAT VALUE!! The food was great and the guests were happy. There were a couple small things that might be helpful to share, though. Our point of contact changed several times in the span of our engagement and there was sometimes a delay in communication. Also, the venue was marketed as a capacity of 200 people but it is better suited to weddings of 160-180 guests. When you go over 180, you have to choose some guests to seat in a room that feels divided by the little stream which is awkward. Also, there is no space for getting ready so brides and bridesmaids have to get ready off-site. Overall, I was overjoyed with having my wedding day here and I think for the price we still had an incredible experience. I don't regret it at all!!”

“When I first arrived on the property to look at it, it was breathtaking so beautiful and so well kept, and obviously Lauren and Kara were so kind and sweet and so attentive to every single one of my requests and details. Fast-forward to wedding weekend, I had Kara and Lauren on speed dial if I needed anything and they were so helpful for any tiny request. I needed for my wedding party and family. The property is absolutely stunning. My wedding party and I stayed in the farmhouse the entire weekend from rehearsal dinner to a brunch on that Sunday and my friends, and I had the time of our lives. It was so accommodating to have family come from out of state. Be able to stay on the property in a nearby Airbnb that houses 20 people! I wasn’t worried about hotels, driving and transporting people or potentially having them drinking and driving. It was so nice to just be there the entire time. My friends and family have said that it was one of the best weddings that they have ever been to and I can concur that was the best wedding ever. I cannot recommend this place enough if you live in Maryland or nearby or somewhere on the East Coast or looking to do a destination wedding. This is your place to do it!!! I wish I could relive my wedding weekend. It was so magical and perfect and I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you Comus farms!”

“As you’ll come to see with vendors, not all of them are very responsive, Barbora was always responsive no matter what time I texted her and had a question to ask her prior to the wedding. She’s punctual (something I care a lot about), she’s very organized (had a timeline and stuck to it) she is also very reliable so that made me comfortable. On the wedding day, she was a delight to be around. She worked so so hard. I literally got to a point where I had to remind her to go have her meal. She took what I thought were beautiful pictures. I wanted spontaneous and organic pictures and she captured just that. I am very awkward in front of the camera (and so is my husband), she helped direct us and made us comfortable. I also wanted pictures in front of the DC monuments, as you can imagine they’re crazy busy on the weekend but she managed to direct us along with the rest of our group and took some of the most beautiful photos (I thought). What I valued the most about Barbora is that it felt like she genuinely cared. It wasn’t a job that she had to go to, she really enjoyed what she was doing.”
