After H.S. I joined the Marine Corps and after several years, I continued to get the itch of mixing music and missed playing on the turntables. After an experience we had with another DJ for a personal event, I decided to give it a go. I love mixing different genres of music and the excitement of people enjoying themselves while on the dance floor or bobbing their heads in their seats. Unfaded Brass Band is comprised of 10 members from New Orleans and surrounding areas that have assembled together to incorporate elements of hip-hop, jazz, soul, and pop music and added the brass band framework to it. . The band has members from Mississippi, but most were born and raised in New Orleans. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, members of the band fled to Dallas and planted their roots within the city. Dallas-Fort Worth saxophonist and jazz musician Justin Pierce began his musical career in the musically diverse region of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast. He has performed across the United States and internationally, earned degrees in both classical and jazz styles, and taught at the secondary and college levels. Justin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Saxophone Performance and a Master of Music (M.M) in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas. As an active musician, he leads The Justin Pierce Jazz Group, which performs regularly in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

For 17 years now the award winning recipe for The Texas Gypsies sound is to perform the “Vintage Jazzy Swingin" cool hep cat sounds of the Great Gatsby era 1920's, plus a mix of the Big Band Swing sound of the 1930's and 40’s, add in a taste of its sister sound, Western Swing, sprinkle some Django style Gypsy Jazz over the top and finally finish up with a pinch of Retro Deco Rockin Roll! The band mixes passionate violin, a blazing horn section, rockin-swingin guitars, slappin upright bass, and retro style drumming to harmoniously create their own unique, classy and fun sound!

All songs performed are accompanied by the digital soundtrack, so you will get a full-band sound throughout my show. I provide all musical and lighting equipment, take minimal breaks, and provide DJ material that includes the most popular line dances and related material as requested. My song list is very extensive, with a mixture of classic honky-tonk Country, Texas Country, and a little classic Rock. I have provided the entertainment for 70+ weddings over the past five years with this one-man show, so if you are looking for someone who can keep your guests on the dance floor without breaking the bank on a full band, then I am your man!
