“We were a little undecided on whether or not to have a photo booth for our small, backyard wedding and we are SO thrilled that we did! All of our guests had so much fun and loved being able to get copies of their photos. We provided some props of our own, but the props they provided added so much to the experience. As a queer couple, we were very mindful about making sure we had all queer-friendly vendors and Be The Star Photo Booth made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Our attendants, Kyle and Rob, were absolutely PHENOMENAL. They weren't just attendants--it really felt like they were part of the celebration. They were kind, helpful, energetic, and so much fun to have with us as part of the experience. Kyle was so thoughtful and kept all the photo strips my wife and I were in until the end of the night. She even gave us a few 4x6 prints of some cute pictures of us. I highly recommend them and would love to use them again!”

We also had Miguel as our second photographer, and he was absolutely amazing. He did such a great job with the guys and captured so many different angles and moments that we’re so grateful to have. “I don’t think I could say enough wonderful things about Candlewood Inn and their team. Simply put our day was perfection. Krista and her team made sure everything was as we wanted it and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our bridal attendants Mary and Leslie were the true fairy godmothers of the day making sure myself (the bride) and the rest of our bridal party had everything they needed at all time. The communication throughout the process coming up to the wedding and on the day was absolutely flawless. We felt truly cared for which can be hard to find with the amount of weddings that are done. The venue itself was beautiful, you cant quite beat the views on that lake, and so that alone makes it so special. The food was spectacular, us and our guests could not get over how delicious everything was. The staff throughout the night was so professional and kind, and made sure our guests were cared for as well. We loved having the time alone right after the ceremony with all of the appetizers we had picked just to have a bite to eat and take a moment to reflect on being married! It was so special and I attribute that to the work the Candlewood team put in. I would recommend this venue to everyone and anyone that just wants a beautifully run day. “We had Christina do our month-of/day-of coordination for our wedding and she truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! It's been a few weeks and I'm still in awe with what she did with my mess of decorations that I threw at her!!! I work in a creative field myself, so I got down and dirty with the D.I.Y. for our big day. I, kid you not, had 300 colorful bud vases, 200 colorful candle holders/votives, and a massive amount of other silly decorations for her to set up for us. I did my best to stay organized for her sanity - but let me tell you - IT WAS A HUGE COMPLICATED JOB and she did it with such ease. I kept apologizing for the amount of work I was giving her, I felt like I was being a little insane with it all LOL... but she was incredibly kind, calm, and reassuring with me through the whole process and kept telling me to stop apologizing LOL!! She is so super knowledgable about everything and has such good instincts about event planning. I added on a 30 minute planning session a few months before she started her coordinating for me - and it was incredibly helpful. Aside from her eye for decorations and impeccable creativity, she was also so so so amazing in coordinating the event in general. I had multiple people from the wedding party ask "wait so that's your coordinator?" and then follow with something along the lines of "she's awesome she just told me where to go and what to do so fast - and I was like YES M'AM" All of the party loved working with her, from my parents to my in-laws. I cannot stress enough how much of an amazing person she is through and through - and if you're lucky enough to get in her books for your wedding, you won't regret it!!”

“We hired a day-of coordinator because although we wanted to own the process of planning the wedding, we did not want to be point persons for vendor questions, logistics, and issues on the day of the wedding. We chose Merry By Mia because we instantly felt like we were in good hands, were reassured by the fact that Mia herself had recently gotten married and knew firsthand what kind of stressors and wrinkles go into a wedding day, and because we were impressed with her podcast. We benefited greatly from working with Merry by Mia! We had a sounding board for questions throughout the planning process, making big undertakings (like finding and booking transportation for 120 people!) much much simpler. And of course, on the day of, we would not have rested nearly as easy if we hadn't known that Mia was there to represent our best interests when we couldn't be there ourselves. We also heavily relied on Mia to understand what we wanted/what was important to us and translate that to our other vendors, especially when we felt we weren't being listened to. This was invaluable to us. Overall, we were incredibly satisfied! From big planning moments down to helping me into my reception dress, the day would not have gone nearly as smoothly without Mia. I would absolutely recommend working with Merry because from my experience, Mia was reliable, understanding, and excited! It means a lot when vendors who live and breathe weddings still have the ability to get as excited over the details as you do. I would say to absolutely prioritize this expense in your budget. For me, I know that if I had allocated that money to any other line item I wouldn't have been able to fully enjoy it because I would be dealing with so much unnecessary stress and wrangling without a point person. Mia went above and beyond, listening to the long list of very particular requests we had and made sure everything was perfect. We're so thankful to her! “”

“First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.”

“DLicious Sweets designed and prepared a desert table for our daughters wedding April 2023. It was the most amazingly beautiful dessert table I’ve ever seen at a wedding venue to date!! The wedding cake brushed in gold and adorned with beautiful vintage themed flowers was absolutely gorgeous and amazingly delicious… I’ve gone to the best pastry shops in the country and they all failed in comparison!! “From our very first meeting at the Waterview, the entire staff was friendly, engaging, and professional. As a LGBTQ couple, my husband and I knew this would be the right venue for us. They had all of the right facilities, accommodating all of our needs, and flexibility with dates and costing. The day of the event was seamless with no stress for my husband or I. Our families all enjoyed the Waterview from the ceremony through dinner and dancing. Our coordinator, Kat, was absolutely incredible. She was able to take our vision and make it a reality. We cannot say enough about the staff and facilities. The Garden Room and East room are simply amazing. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches at the end of the night--people are still talking about them!”
