How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors

“Bakers Ranch is a team of informed wedding professionals who are experts in the unique art of weddings. Our wedding day felt like pure magic, and it is truly thanks to the incredible team at this wedding venue. Our guests were in awe of the space, and we received so many compliments regarding the décor, drinks, food, photographer and overall experience. My husband and I put a lot of time and research into finding the right wedding venue for us, and we walked away from our wedding day with a feeling of pride for our selection, and gratitude for the support we received. “We got married at Stroudsmoor Country Inn at the Lawnhaven venue on June 14th, and we truly cannot say enough amazing things about our experience. From the moment we toured the venue to the moment we said goodbye to our last guest, everything was absolutely seamless—and it’s all thanks to the incredible team at Stroudsmoor. Our coordinator, Grace, was an absolute gem. For months leading up to the wedding, her communication was always timely, thoughtful, and incredibly reassuring. “First off, the wedding coordinator MELISSA at The Milestone Denton is godsend and 10000% deserves a huge raise and fat bonus for the amount of work she does and is so helpful in the planning process. She was very honest and upfront during the entire planning process. I am very Type A and for once in my life it was nice to have someone else in charge and I fully trusted her. She even provides recommendations when you don’t know what you want and will be honest with pricing. If it weren’t for Melissa, I don’t know how the wedding would have gone and I would have been so stressed during the planning process. She is so awesome that she goes out of her way to do things for you (be nice everyone!) and is very responsive. She also helped with the reception layout with my divorced parents who do not get along with other family members and it was a success. MELISSA IS THE BEST!! The venue - BEAUTIFUL. We had our ceremony indoors which was nice because our guests were able to take pictures at the gabezo in the back during cocktail hour. If you do your ceremony outside at the gazebo, the guests won’t be able to have their little photoshoots. The entire venue is gorgeous and every corner is a photo-op. It’s a great venue if you have 150 or less people. The big windows everywhere were just so beautiful. The bridal suite is HUGE and beautiful and the grooms suite is upstairs and has a tv and pool table. Perfect for the boys! The food, bar and DJ - everything was great and explained throughly by Melissa so expectations were set and made based on what tier and package you purchased I did not use the Walter Weddings photographer, florists or cake designer so I can’t speak to that. One downfall was on the day of the wedding with Melissa’s day of partner, Allison. She is super sweet and helped steam my bridal gown and Matron of Honor’s dress, which I’m so appreciative of. But I guess she didn’t communicate well to the staff on what needed to be done that day because there were several mishaps that shouldn’t have happened. The ceremony room was incomplete and she didn’t give me the chance to see how the front tables looked. I purchased 100 of bouquet flowers and ribbons that were supposed to be tied to each seat which I was told could be done since it was a simple task to tie 3 flowers and a bow on each aisle chair. This was not done so that small detail from my ceremony room seem bland and a waste of money. The front tables weren’t done how I wanted and it was chaotic having presents with our guestbook and our wedding sign. We wanted to utilize the buffet type table in the front room for presents so it’s not so cluttered when you walk in. Also, a lot of my items were not used for cocktail hour. After the wedding, I noticed the box was opened but she did not use what I purchase and the display for cocktail hour looked like a “backyard bbq” according to my guests. I was so disappointed because I had custom items and “backyard bbq” did not fit the vibe of “old Hollywood glam” of the wedding. Other than the day of mishaps, I highly recommend doing your wedding at Milestone Mansion Denton and having Melissa as your coordinator. GIVE HER A HUGE RAISE, Walter Weddings!!! She’s top notch and deserves it!”

“Our wedding at Deity Brooklyn in June 2024 was absolutely magical! I would 100% recommend Deity to anyone looking for a unique, all-inclusive wedding venue in NYC. From the up-front pricing information, to the first tour with Caio, to securing our date, coming in for a menu tasting and having our planning meeting with Anna and Kat - every step of the way reinforced my confidence that choosing Deity as our wedding venue was the right choice! The space is a beautiful historic building that's been converted to a four story (plus rooftop!) party venue. I loved that Deity provides all the dinnerware, linens and candles, it really limited the decisions we had to make so we could focus on personal touches for our day. We wanted our wedding to feel like an amazing house party, which Deity perfectly delivered. Anna was an incredible coordinator, so on top of everything and thoughtful. The day-of team ran everything so smoothly - I honestly wasn't stressed for a moment, because everyone was organized, calm and clearly loves what they do. The chef and DJ (part of the all-inclusive pricing!) were also amazing. “Our wedding day & the planning leading up to it was absolutely perfect and we can't thank the Chicago Winery staff (especially our event manager Hulda!) enough for making our wedding come to life exactly as we dreamed it. The venue is gorgeous, our guests raved about the food/appetizers/cocktails/etc. and it is truly a night we will never forget. Being able to go outside to the cocktail hour terrace was also a huge plus to get people moving around and seeing new parts of the venue while the Chicago Winery staff transformed the whole space from ceremony to reception. We worked with Amy right after booking the space and she was so helpful in being a resource for us to bounce questions off of as we began planning. We utilized a lot of the preferred vendors (florist, DJ, etc.) that Chicago Winery recommended and they did not disappoint. Our event manager, Hulda, was soooooo helpful throughout the last 6 months of preparations and as our day-of manager - we could not have done it without her. She made sure the whole day was perfect and everything timeline-wise lined up exactly as we envisioned it. Can't recommend Chicago Winery enough! 1000000/10”

“We had our wedding at Olio in April 2025, and it was the perfect venue. We wanted something with an industrial vibe and large space, but the beautiful hardwood floors, ability to customize the space, and the welcoming owner, Sarah, are what truly sold it for us! As an LGBTQ couple, the most important thing to us was to be surrounded by people who support us. Sarah has created an inclusive place for all. Through her venue she is able to uplift a diverse range of communities and cultures. This shows to be a priority to Olio, so if you are looking for welcoming and inclusive, this is the place to be! The space itself is beautiful and has the option to bring in basically any kind of decor you could want. They offer several in house add ons including the string lights we chose to do. Olio provided a large list of preferred vendors, with the option to bring in any other vendors with approval. We used several from the preferred list and they were all amazing! The day of our wedding ran flawlessly. The Olio staff, along with our day of coordination (Without a Hitch), created a welcoming environment for our guests and ensured the day ran smoothly. At the turn of the century the company faced a crisis: the site of their mill would be flooded to form the Wachusett Reservoir. Instead of abandoning the mill, the company dismantled it brick by brick and shipped it to its new home in Easthampton, where it was rebuilt on the banks of the Lower Mill Pond. “Let me start off by saying that I don’t typically leave reviews, but I needed to leave one for this amazing team and venue! We just had our wedding there this February, and WOW!!!!! I cannot say enough good things about this venue. We were looking for a venue that was affordable and willing to work with us and we came across this hidden gem. I wanted an enchanted romantic candle lit wedding and this was the perfect place for it. The chapel is connected to the tented area, which is breathtaking. They have a beautiful suite on site where my bridal party and us were able to get ready in. They had pastries, coffee, and more ready for us while we were getting ready which I thought was such a beautiful touch. Arthur and Kat were extremely responsive from start to finish. They answered any questions that we had and were so attentive to everything! As a bride, I had some anxiety leading up to the day of but their prompt responses gave me piece of mind. The day of the wedding their whole team was on it either setting everything up. It made the experience stress free and they made our vision come to life - it exceeded our expectations by far! Our family and friends couldn’t believe how calm I was the day of the wedding and I kept telling the it’s bc they LITERALLY have the best team. I honestly can’t believe anything less than a 5 star review for this place if I’m honest. All of my guests kept raving about how attentive the staff was and how it was THE BEST service they’ve ever had at a wedding. If any one is in doubt about booking them for your wedding, don’t be! This is the perfect place and has the best team to host your wedding! All in all if we had to choose again, we’d choose The Sanctuary in a heartbeat! Do yourself a favor and give them a chance. “Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center was the perfect venue for our daughter & son-in-law’s wedding. The location to the airport, highway and hotel were ideal. Their property provided plenty of parking. The wedding was outside on a 92 day and was flawless. It was hot, but the trees were in the perfect position to shade the entire patio. The entire staff was amazing. The reception space was transformed into a beautiful space for our special celebration. Our family and friends shared with us how delicious the appetizers, meal and “aftertizers” of the homemade pretzels. Christine the Event Manager went above and beyond and made sure the day was special for everyone. She answered all of my questions, even up to the last minute. We were so impressed with how many times Christine checked in with us to make sure we were happy. We highly recommend Donauschwaben’s German-American Cultural Center.”

“When I tell you Mountain View Ranch was the best experience a bride could ask for, I say this without hyperbole. I just got married 05/04/25 and the entire experience was so smooth I felt like I had no thoughts on my wedding day. Alex Hubbart was my wedding coordinator and she SLAYED all my wedding planning, day of coordinating, and anything else. I literally, LITERALLY could not have asked for a better coordinator. I had no idea what I wanted and she was so patient and helpful the entire time. Caryn was my banquet captain and if you can you should request her. The whole night went perfect. Aiden was our server and he was so sweet and professional. Kevin and Nate killed it. Our food was perfect. And Christie and Carrie were our bar tenders. They made me a custom drink from my grad school days helped me perfect it. I was pumped. Nate the DJ was a crowd favorite. I got the best feedback about how good he was from my guests. If I got married again, I’d do it at Mountain View ranch and I would pick the same team. Especially Alex. Do yourself a favor and book her as your coordinator before someone else snaps her up. The venue itself is beautiful and all the vendors worked so well with the venue. Imagine because they are familiar with the trip and timeline. If you want a low stress, mountain wedding with stunning views? This is the place.”

“We couldn't be more pleased with our wedding at the Pavilion on Crystal Lake! This venue is part of the CT Wedding Group and they are truly experts at what they do! Aesthetically, the venue is GORGEOUS. We loved the fact that we could have the best of both worlds--both inside and outside--for our wedding day. It was perfect! The outdoor ceremony space is intimate and romantic with a canopy of trees, garden lights, and a gazebo. The indoor reception area is just as intimate and has beautiful windows overlooking the lake. There are many different ways you can add on decor to make the inside as "dolled up" as you want. We also got ready for the day on the property at the Lake Cottage. Having been to multiple weddings where the wedding party had to get shuffled from one place to the next, we knew how much simpler and less stressful things would be if we could eliminate all of that. The Cottage is super cute and had everything we needed! Choosing a wedding venue was challenging, but there were a few things that set The Pavilion apart from the others. First, the food. From the beginning, we came to understand that the CT Wedding Group is very "food forward." They pride themselves on their high-quality food, presentation, and the fact that couples don't have to pick and choose options to save money--so much is just included. And simply put: the food was INCREDIBLE. The 10 passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious. We added on "The Farm Stand" which was the most elaborate charcuterie board anyone has ever seen. The dinner entrees were out of this world and dessert was divine. Every guest continues to rave to us about the food! It did not disappoint! Another thing that set apart this venue was the team of people. Once we signed the contract, we were on board with the CT Wedding Group and part of their little family. This group of people took such good care of us throughout the whole planning process! People ask if we hired a coordinator, and it was hard to answer because we had a whole TEAM of coordinators. They kept us on a schedule, made sure we were checking off things on our to-do list, hosting Zoom meetings, and were available to talk whenever we needed. Since our emails/texts went to an entire group of people, it meant we had rapid responses. Also, we never felt like any question was too small, nor any request too big. They were so kind to us and we felt extremely well cared for. Last but not least, the CT Wedding Group provides a day-of coordinator, which was amazing. By the time the day of your wedding rolls around, you will be done with decision making. All you want is to show up and have everyone tell you what to do! Our coordinator, Dimitri, was great. We knew we were in good hands and he made sure the day ran so smoothly. He also made sure we had exactly what we needed at every point in the day/night. We had no stress on our wedding day because of this! All in all, we HIGHLY recommend this venue. If not this venue, then any of the other CT Wedding Group properties. Our guests loved our wedding and so did we. You will have the BEST day!”

Nazareth Hall is known throughout the region as a banquet and wedding facility, but it’s the rich history and lush setting that draws people here. Built in 1927 as an all-boy Catholic boarding school. It eventually evolved into a renowned military school for boys. Throughout its history the school stayed true to its Catholic roots and the nuns who served and taught here. Operating until 1982 the stories written within its walls are still told today. Re-emerging with a new mission and purpose in April of 1991, Nazareth Hall was reborn. It is in this picturesque place, reminiscent of castles of old, that brides come to be married and celebrate with family and friends in grand ballrooms. The classrooms and meeting spaces offer the perfect vintage background for business training sessions, and the manicured lawns have been host to numerous parties and festivities.

Our Farm sits on 54-Acres in Bucks County. Our Seed Barn was originally built back in the 1820's. Our Seed Barn was restored in the Summer of 2016 & seats 160-200 people. Attached to the back of the Seed Barn is a beautiful deck that overlooks the ceremony site. In the lower level of the Seed Barn is our Groom’s Suite! Here you will find a pool table, TV, lounge seating area & more. In 2020 we built our Harvest Barn attached to the Seed Barn through a breezeway. This is home for our commercial kitchen, on-site bathrooms, smaller event space and bridal suite. Lastly, we have a Farm-to-Table bakery onsite for your dessert table & custom wedding cake. The Farm is truly a wonderful place to host your big day! Our goal is to work with each couple to carry out their vision for the day! What is great about The Farm is it truly can be anything you would like it to be, from a backyard barbecue to a beautiful sit down farm-to-table dinner! We would love to serve you on your Wedding Day.
