I view the art of photography as a subtractive process, seeing, feeling what is real and making it into my personal vision. I use all tools from modern photography – filters, digital enhancement that include adding artistic effects to images– to try to capture in an image the emotions I felt at the moment the photograph was taken.

I have the fondest of memories of sorting through my grandparents old photographs and carefully leather bound albums, from the black and white staged portraits of generations past, to the faded color snapshots and candids of my childhood.
