I had my wedding here last week. Holy crap, they knocked it out of the park. Several people said it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. They said the food was so good they’d come back if it were a restaurant. The cake was also outstanding and so delicious (shout out to Paula!). More than all of that, Jonna the bridal attendant took care of me and my husband so well that we hardly had to worry about anything. We got to eat everything because she set it aside for us and we set aside time for a calm moment. She made sure we got to take the cake home. She was an excellent communicator, made sure everyone was where they needed to be and she was somehow always there when we needed her. It was like she was everywhere all at once! I thought I was going to need to corral people to help me take stuff home that night. Nope! She knew who my immediate family was and had them grab a few things. She made it all low stress. Linda was amazing in the planning process. She was communicative and diligent on following up on our loose ends. I always felt like she was there if I needed her. Chris was our salesperson and did a wonderful job. He went above and beyond and met us right before (or after) closing because it was the only time that worked for us. He made us so excited to book the place and the team truly delivered!! I wish I could get married AGAIN and I’d do it here! Ps you HAVE to book Bruno of Beauty and Life Captured! If you book here. He is masterful with the lighting of this place. Truly so talented!

I first found the Riverhouse searching on Zola. My husband and I spoke with Holly for our initial appointment. Holly had light music playing over the speakers when we arrived, and when I walked into the ballroom and onto the dance floor, I looked at my now husband and said, “This is it, I hope they have a date in 2025 available”. The planning process with Kelley and the team was wonderful! The worksheets that are provided make planning easy and outline all the tasks clearly. We attended their vendor show which helped us determine exactly what we were looking for in our vendors to design our perfect wedding day. Our detail meeting about a month before our wedding day was smooth and we easily made all our banquet choices. A week before our wedding, we met with Holly to ensure our day of timeline was exactly how we wanted it – she totally nailed it day of! We have been to many weddings, and we believed that food was one of the most important parts of our day. We were blown away by the quality (and quantity!) of food at the Riverhouse. At our tasting, my husband and I ranked the appetizer, salad and dinner choices. The rankings were so high, we had trouble narrowing it down! It’s been about 3 weeks, and our guests are still complementing our food and saying how beautiful the venue was. The mac and cheese bar has been a HUGE hit with our guests. On our wedding day, Holly and Loretta kept everything smooth and seamless and both ladies provided a calming atmosphere when things started to feel chaotic (shout out to Loretta for grabbing me tums!). It truly seemed as if all the staff at the Riverhouse enjoyed our wedding event as much as our guests did! The food service was outstanding and went right along with our timeline, our bartenders were flawless, and we totally spied a little bit of dancing going on to our music and we were absolutely overjoyed! We would like to thank everyone at the Riverhouse for making our day amazing! We hope to see you all again sometime soon!

We were over the moon with our wedding at Saint Clement's Castle. The venue is simply magical - the castle architecture and sweeping views of the water took our breath away and provided a fairy tale backdrop. The team was a dream to work with, very responsive throughout planning and attentive to all our needs and vision. Our day-of-coordinator was a rockstar, making us feel like royalty. Everything flowed seamlessly thanks to her and the staff. The little touches like the heartfelt note at the end of the night were so thoughtful. Full disclaimer, my husband and I both work for Connecticut Wedding Group. So, you may think this post is a tad biased, but we'd have to disagree... You see at the start of our engagement we did entertain some "obligatory" research, but, this was incredibly short lived. We came to the quick conclusion, before we even got to scheduling tours, that there's simply no way we could ever put our biggest investment in anyones hands but our own planning & culinary teams. Every weekend we see our couples share their big day with all of the most important people in their lives. A moment you only get once, and our team pours their whole hearts into making every minute pure perfection. My husband was (hands down) here for the food, while I was here so I didn't need to plan my own wedding and worry about all the logistics that my brain normally can't avoid. Our guests continue to rave. It was the best day ever, and we are so deeply grateful to our team for doing what they do. Our only regret is we can't do it again and again and again.

Priam Vineyards

  • Starts at $10,450

We do exquisite and unique weddings and special events. Our vineyard and winery offer world class wines, picturesque hilltop event sites, and natural beauty ideal for an unforgettable celebration. The magnificent, natural environment will enhance any wedding vision. It’s a place where you can truly unplug from everyday life to focus on and enjoy the people in your life that are invaluable.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Venue is completely outdoors
  • Allows pets
  • Sophisticated wine experience

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
We were at first drawn to Priam because of its organic wines and sustainable philosophy. We stayed because of the endlessly supportive team, the flexibility of the space, and the beauty of the venue. Kristine Herrold, the site’s wedding coordinator, goes way out of her way to ensure a good experience. She even arranged a bond fire (bonfire??) for us for a private ceremony the night before our wedding!!! The only downside is that it is a “blank canvas” that required some design (especially the ceremony space). It is also a working vineyard so access can be an issue at times. All of these issues were resolved. We had the most beautiful wedding!!! Everyone had a great time!!! Especially us!!!! Oh and the wines are amazing. We’ll be back!!!
