Something Borrowed Blooms was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding flowers. From the beginning, their communication was simple, easy, and direct - making the process completely worry-free. Their selection was great, and their prices were incredibly affordable, which was a huge relief as we planned our wedding from out of town. The floral arrangements they created were absolutely beautiful, and I loved that I could add a scent to give them an extra touch of realism. I also didn't have to stress about water marks on my dress, which was a huge plus. Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Pleasant Valley, CT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
I absolutely loved my experience using Flower Moxie. I was nervous about doing my own wedding flowers at first, but their team made me so comfortable. I was even able to do the grounded floral arch I wanted and my own bouquets and boutonnieres. Alexa helped me add flowers to my order and made sure everything was perfect for my big day. Thank you so much, Alexa! I'll be sure to refer all my friends to Flower Moxie!!

Fountainhead Floral Design

5.0

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Awarded Best of Zola
When I first saw my wedding bouquet I was speechless! It was nothing like any other bouquet I had seen in the absolute best way! The flowers were gorgeous, vibrant, and truly unique, just like I wanted! Kate has such a keen ability to take inspiration photos, run with them, and create something incredibly gorgeous and in line with my vision. The florals she designed brought a lovely pop of color to our reception and pulled the natural look from the landscape into the space exactly like I envisioned. From little details like "snap-bracelet" corsages for the moms to a color-coordinating ribbon on the boutonnieres, Kate totally knocked it out of the park!

Working with Muse Art Co. was an absolute dream. Sara is a ray of sunshine and brought so much joy and positivity throughout the entire process. As someone who didn't have a super strong vision for the florals, Sara guided me every step of the way and I was able to fully trust her to execute her vision. She did not disappoint! Everything from the centerpieces to the arch were absolutely perfect. Not to mention, my bouquet was one of the most stunning I have ever seen! Sara is undeniably talented, but the true magic of Muse Art Co. is the passion and love Sara exudes. First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

We are absolutely thrilled with the floral arrangements from Rebel Rose for our wedding! From the initial consultation to the final setup, the entire experience was exceptional. Tracy has an incredible eye for design and truly understood our coastal meets Bridgerton vision. She created stunning bouquets, centerpieces, and alter arrangements that perfectly complemented our wedding theme and added a touch of elegance to every detail. The flowers were not only beautiful but also fresh and vibrant, making a lasting impression on our guests. What really stood out was her attentiveness and dedication to bringing our ideas to life. I had collected more vases than I had originally planned on and Tracy ran with it. She made vignettes of large vases and bud vases, taking a fresh spin on things by using one flower type per vase. Her suggestions turned out even better than I imagined. Tracy’s professionalism and passion for her craft was evident throughout the process. The florals were one of the highlights of our wedding day, and we are so grateful to Tracy for her exceptional work. The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

Lindsay was so amazing to work with! We hired her to do the flowers for our very small wedding, and the flowers were pretty much our only decor. Everything turned out so stunning. I only showed her a couple of inspiration/general ideas, and mostly told her that we just wanted bright seasonal (August) flowers, and to go ahead and do whatever she thought was best. We didn't have a set color palette since we didn't have a wedding party, so she really could choose whatever she wanted. This was the best decision I could have made because everything was even more beautiful than I could have imagined! Trust me, if you're not a picky bride, ask Lindsay to surprise you and you won't be disappointed!

Sara did an incredible job preserving my wedding flowers! I originally went with another company, as I did not know about Sara’s work, and they could not provide me with the product. They sent my flowers back dried and brittle, I was devastated. Sara recovered everything and made me a gorgeous tray. It is so special to me and I will cherish it forever. She also made me candleholders and coasters with my flowers in “confetti” form. They are so fun! I will 100% recommend Sara’s work to everyone I know!

I truly love working on these blooms from start to finish, and I hope to get to share some of the beauty with you on your special day. Come visit us at our storefront, too! We are located at 979 State Street in New Haven, Connecticut.

Isabelle is a dream to work with, and created the most stunning florals, understated and natural yet gorgeous and striking, which blended beautifully with the natural environment of our venue. The florals were more than decorations - they were works of art. The fact that the plants are chemical free and grown in a sustainable, regenerative environment was a huge selling point for us. The team is reliable, experienced, and so dedicated, and they went above and beyond to turn a vision into reality. Finally, communication with Isabelle was incredibly smooth and pleasant, and during a stressful process like wedding planning, having such a supportive, loving person was deeply helpful and appreciated. Cannot recommend Isabelle enough!!!
