Aside from her AMAZING hair and makeup skills… We had a few bumps in the road so my mom and I weren’t able to make it to the venue until after my scheduled time for both hair and makeup. As you can imagine, I was definitely panicking about our ceremony starting in less than two hours from the time of my arrival. When I finally made it, I felt SO much better as I realized that Alexis made sure that all of my bridesmaids were on track as far as hair and makeup while I was gone. “We all know that hiring vendors for your wedding is stressful, but Lauren was stress free and my BEST choice! She communicated with me throughout the entire planning process and helped me iron out all the details surrounding the big day. As someone who didn’t use a wedding planner, this was huge for me because I had no idea what I was doing. Lauren helped me through this by providing some timeline templates, and answered any questions that came up (even if it didn’t relate directly to photography). Aside from planning, I knew I had made the right choice when we shot our engagement photos. Obviously the final product is why you hire a photographer, but Lauren provided high quality photos AND a great experience! My husband does not like his photo taken and will usually morph into a toddler who throws tantrums when asked to stand in front of a camera for too long - but not with Lauren. We had so much fun shooting with her, she really made it an awesome experience and my husband actually enjoyed himself! For our wedding day we had exactly the same experience, just on a much larger scale. We had a few last minute changes to the plan, and Lauren made sure that for every sacrifice that was made, that there was no detail or photo opportunity missed. She even spent 20 minutes in a broom closet with my mom and I to try to get my bustle buttoned before the dances. Everyone who interacted with Lauren on that day had nothing but great things to say about their experience working with her, and she was absolutely my favorite vendor on my wedding day. Our photos were sent to us before the date they were promised by and they are absolutely PERFECT. We will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives! Lauren is phenomenal at what she does, but more than that she is an amazing person. I truly feel like I’ve gained a friend by working with her and I will never use another photographer to capture my memories. I'm a love storyteller from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I primarily photograph weddings and engagements in and around the Midwest as well as destination weddings. I aim to tell love stories as honestly, candidly and uniquely as possible and I hope those attributes come across in my imagery. I firmly believe Love is Love and that everyone deserves beautiful images. I promise I will go above and beyond for you and be genuinely invested in your photographs far beyond just taking pictures. “It is really hard for me to put into words just how amazing Katie and her husband Matt are. We found them through our friends who used them for their wedding. We knew we wanted to do a destination wedding, and our friends had attended one the year before in Jamaica which Katie and Matt photographed. Because of that wedding, they chose them to be their photographer for their wedding in Michigan. After we saw the photos from the destination wedding and our friend's engagement photos we knew they would be perfect for us. After we saw our friend's wedding photos we knew made the right choice. Katie and Matt from the beginning were super helpful and were incredibly integral on our wedding weekend and day. When they arrived in Mexico, they met up with us and started to work immediately. They came to our rehearsal helping us decide where to put our camera for filming the ceremony and other helpful advice for the day of. They helped find the PERFECT first look location. On the day of the wedding, Katie and Matt were energetic and came ready to help put us to ease. Katie and Matt just have a way of making you feel at ease and then make you look like models. They did a great combination of classic portraits but a lot of candid photos mixed in (which were my favorites). They stayed through the our whole reception and the photos we got look out of a bridal magazine. We had a secondary shoot the day after as a Trash the Dress photo shoot, and the sunset photos we got look like post cards. The only down side of using Katie and Matt is that they gave us too many photos we want to print and get framed! Book them for your destination wedding (or Michigan wedding) and you will absolutely be making the best decision!”

After being adopted from China, I fell in love with everything creativity. I was always drawing, editing my friend’s insta pictures for fun, and of course having mini photoshoots. I felt so much joy when it came to creating art that could be saved forever. It didn’t take until college that I used all my money from my savings to buy my own camera- yeah I definitely knew my priorities. When I had time in between classes and studying I devoted it to taking pictures of everything. Wedding photography was a complete different realm of opportunities. Capturing the sweetest day and to gift that is unmatched.

“I am going to try and get off my soapbox for this review but I make no promises. Hiring Jessie Harris and Wildcrest Studios for my wedding was the single best decision I have ever made, except for marrying my husband. We had a small wedding, with a small budget, a very specific vision, no planner or coordinator, and no freaking clue what we were doing. From my first phone call with Jessie I knew that she was something special. She is experienced, organized, diligent, detail oriented, creative, kind, patient, and funny as heck. She truly listens to what you are hoping for and - somehow, despite all odds - she makes it happen. She LITERALLY threw off her shoes and climbed into Lake Michigan to get a shot of my husband and I on a dock at sunset. She kicked the groomsmen out of the area during our first touch because it was ruining the moment and I was too emotional and nervous to say anything. She drove across the state to shoot a pre-wedding reception for us. Alex, the second shooter, tied my husband’s bow tie for him before he walked down the aisle… and my brother’s… and my dad’s… and I’m pretty sure half the groomsmen’s bow ties too. She helped us create the timeline for our wedding day. She even gave us advice on what to pick for our first dance. And, to top it all off, she has provided us with the most unbelievable and stunning engagement, reception, and wedding day photos I could have imagined. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how I feel when thinking about finding Jessie and Wildcrest Studios. Do yourself a favor and at least send an inquiry. Or don’t, and I’ll keep her all to myself :)”
